Overview: The TiVo Wireless N Network Adapter easily
connects your network-ready TiVo DVR to your wireless home network
(802.11n/g/b). The TiVo Wireless N Network Adapter is optimized for your
network-ready TiVo DVR and eliminates the need for a hardwired Ethernet cable
connection. You can enjoy the following network TiVo features using the TiVo
Wireless N Network Adapter.
- Download HD movies and TV shows to your TiVo DVR faster.
- Transfer recordings from one TiVo DVR to another with greater
- Load shows onto portable devices sooner with quicker transfers to your
computer (requires TiVo Desktop Plus software).
- Get more rapid, reliable, and efficient performance of streaming movies,
web videos, and music.
Note: Movie and TV show downloads require a broadband Internet
connection and may require a rental or purchase fee.
Construction: The TiVo Wireless N Network Adapter features a
chrome metal base and flip-up antenna with TiVo badge. The flip-up antenna
should form a 75-degree angle with the base (this is the best angle for wireless
DVR Compatibility: The TiVo Wireless N Network Adapter is
compatible with the TiVo Premiere and TiVo Premiere XL.
Note: A second Tivo DVR with a TiVo Wireless N Network
Adapter is needed for peer-to-peer connection.
Network Requirements: The TiVo Wireless N Network Adapter
requires an 802.11 n, b, or g router/access point for connection to your home
network. The TiVo Wireless N Network adapter can be used on networks that have
WEP security, WPA security, WPA-2 (Personal) security, or WPS security.
Note: Not intended to be plugged directly into a PC or
Connection: The TiVo Wireless N Network Adapter connects to
your compatible network-ready TiVo DVR's rear-panel Ethernet port via the
included Ethernet cable. The TiVo Wireless N Network Adapter then connects to
your wireless home network via WiFi (802.11n/g/b) over a 2.4GHz or 5GHz
Simple Setup: If you have a WPS enabled wireless 802.11n
router, the TiVo Wireless N Network Adapter offers an easy push-button setup
that gets you up and running in minutes. If you have a wireless 802.11b/g
router, follow your compatible TiVo
DVR's on-screen Guided Setup to configure your system's network settings.
Note: If you are using a wireless 802.11n router, you may need to
enable 5GHz operation on the router for better performance.
Light Indicators: The TiVo Wireless N Network Adapter
features two light indicators to show power and link status. A blue light
indicates 5GHz operation and a blue light indicates 2.4GHz operation.
Power Requirements: The TiVo Wireless N Network Adapter operates off of
standard household current using the included AC power supply.
