About the Logitech® Harmony® 1100
The Logitech Harmony 1100 universal remote lets you easily control even the most advanced audio/video system. Its generous 3-1/2" color display uses an innovative touchscreen menu to simplify complex system adjustments. You can even customize the screen to show just the commands and icons that you need. And the Harmony 1100's straightforward Internet-based setup makes it a snap to program.
Program your remote easily over the web
Connect your Harmony remote to your computer with the supplied USB cable to get started. Go to the Harmony Remote website and answer some simple questions about the components you have and how they're set up. When you're done, the site automatically programs your remote accordingly. Plus, it remembers information about your setup, making it quick and easy to reprogram the remote if you add components down the road.
Intuitive touchscreen controls
The easy-to-read touchscreen display features "Activity" buttons for one-touch control of your system. You can choose which icons you want on the screen, and where you want them to go, giving you complete, personalized control over your entertainment system. For example, to play a DVD, just press "Watch a DVD." The remote instantly evaluates your system, turns on or off the appropriate components, selects the proper settings, and starts the DVD player. The remote's screen then changes to show the controls you'll need for watching a DVD like play, pause, skip, and volume.
Optional RF control
The Harmony 1100 can also send radio frequency (RF) commands in addition to regular IR (infrared) signals. This lets you control audio/video equipment that's connected to a Harmony RF Wireless Extender (available separately) whether your gear's installed in a closet, in a cabinet, or even another room.

Features
Overview: The Harmony 1100 Advanced Universal Remote can control up to 15 devices with the 3.5" full-color LCD touchscreen, along with backlit buttons. After setting up the remote, you can choose the activity you desire (such as "Watch TV" or "Listen To Music"), and the remote will do of the rest. The Harmony 1100 works with over 5000 brands and over 225,000 devices, so you know the remote can operate the specific equipment you have. The remote recharges in the supplied base station, preventing you from having to constantly replace the batteries in your remote.
Setup: To set up your Harmony 1100, you must connect your fully-charged remote to your computer via the supplied USB cable, and load the supplied software into your computer. The initial setup procedure requires at least 30 minutes to enter the make and model numbers of all of the devices to be controlled into the online setup application. You will need to know which components are needed, how everything is connected, and which inputs are needed for each activity. Once the data is entered, the codes for each activity are loaded into the remote.
One-Touch Operation: The Harmony 1100 uses Activity Control to give you one-touch control of your entertainment system. You can use one of the touchscreen's Activity buttons to power on your TV, DVD player, A/V receiver, set all your inputs and even activate play without having to program time consuming macros. Once all of your equipment is "on", the buttons on the remote are also automatically configured for the appropriate operation.
Help: If you have a problem completing an activity function, the help button will guide you through the fix using the interactive multi-color display. The remote will ask a series of questions, such as "Is the TV on?" or "Is the volume turned up?" in order to troubleshoot the problem and correct it.
Favorite Channels: You can arrange all of your favorite TV channels together in one spot. You can even add graphics and logos for each channel for easy recognition.
Learning Function: If your device isn't in the Harmony Remote database, you can use the supplied software to learn the codes from your device's original remote.
System Off: One push of the Off button turns off all the equipment in your system.
Flash Memory: The settings are stored in a non-volatile flash memory so they will never be lost, even when the battery needs charging.
Optional Wireless RF Extender: With the optional Harmony RF Wireless Extender (596RFEXT, sold separately), you can control devices that you keep behind closed cabinet doors and walls (up to 100 feet away). Just place the extender in the cabinet with your components, plug it in, and it automatically synchs with your Harmony 1100.
Lithium-Ion Battery/Recharging Docking Station: The Harmony 1100 includes a removable Lithium-ion rechargeable battery, which provides up to a one-week charge under normal use. The remote comes with a docking station that keeps the remote fully charged. The docking station positions the remote at a 45° angle, allowing the remote to be used while charging.
