Increase the range and versatility of your compatible Harmony remote with this wireless extender. It receives the radio frequency (RF) commands that your remote transmits, allowing you to operate your components from up to 100 feet away.

RF commands pass through walls and floors, just like AM and FM radio signals. When you add this extender, you can use your Harmony remote to control your system from a different part of the house — great for folks who have a multi-room audio setup. Or keep your components out of sight in an enclosed cabinet, and use your Harmony remote for convenient access.

Product Highlights:

Features

Overview: The Logitech Harmony RF Wireless Extender allows you to gain complete control of components that are hidden behind cabinets or walls via a compatible Harmony universal remote control. With a range of up to 100 feet, you can place your equipment out of sight, or you can even move your equipment to the next room. Its Z-Wave (RF) Technology enables remote control of audio, visual, lighting, climate, and security systems without direct line-of-sight. You can even use additional RF Extender receivers to control multiple entertainment systems. The RF Wireless Extender is designed for use with the following Logitech remotes:

  • Harmony 1100
  • Harmony 1000
  • Harmony 895
  • Harmony 890 Pro
  • Harmony 890

IR/RF Control: Logitech's Harmony RF Wireless Extender uses radio frequency (RF) and infrared (IR) wireless signals to deliver powerful complete control of your home-entertainment system that may be hidden behind cabinets when using a compatible Harmony advanced universal remote control (sold separately). With a wireless range of up to 100 feet, your Harmony 890, 1000, 1100 remote sends RF commands to the RF Wireless Extender receiver, which then blasts infrared signals to your components. You can control up to 8 devices with the supplied 4 dual head IR emitters (Each emitter can control up to 2 devices).

Installation: The RF Extender receiver features two keyhole slots and three rubber feet on the bottom of the unit for installation mounting. For AV cabinet installation, you should mount the RF Wireless Extender on the underside of the top shelf facing down and toward the AV devices, with a minimum of 4 inches between the RF Receiver and your entertainment equipment. The RF Extender receiver should be placed no more than 8 feet from your A/V equipment if wall mounting the device when using the supplied IR emitters. The emitters should be attached to the area where the device receives the IR signal or to a surface above, below or in front of the area where the device receives the IR signal. The IR emitters feature a self-adhesive backing to secure them into place. The mini-jack end of the emitter plugs directly into the Wireless Extender.

Controls: The Harmony RF Extender features a Connect button on top of the unit to initialize the unit's RF connection with your compatible Harmony remote control. The RF receiver also features three red led indicators labeled Status, Power and RF on top of the unit to indicate the RF receiver's operation.

Connections: The RF Wireless Extender features the following connections on the rear of the unit.

  • USB Port: Contains a mini-type-B USB port to connect to your computer for remote-setup using the supplied USB cable.
  • 4 Minijack Ports: Features four 3.5mm minijack ports to plug-in the supplied IR emitters. The ports are labeled A, B, C and D.

works well with the 1100

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Accomplished my goal of working with cabinets closed, not needing to point the remote toward the device for it to work and it extends the range of the remote

Pros: does what it was designed to do

Cons: I'm not sure if it is the extender or the Harmony 1100 remote but changing to a specific channel just does not compute, you can enter 531 and it goes to 33 or 55 or just about eny channel except the one you want.

works great

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Had a bit problem at first with a skip on direct T V but the techs fixed every thing

Pros: one great looking remote with components in different room

Cons: none so far

Works well through the floor

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bought along with 890 Pro as our equipment is in the basement but we need to control TV and sound on the first floor living area. Works great! Only issue is that everytime you change the program (even one button on the menu) on the remote, you have to re-sync the Extender too (unplug from system, plug into USB, download software, plug back into system) but beats having all that equipment in the living room!

excellent for hiding components

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

bought this with the harmony 1000 remote. all my components are now hidden away in a closet. i used the IR emitters over the the sensors of each component rather than mounting the extender on the wall across from them so nothing can block the signal. the remote seems to work from every room in the house
