About the Harmony® RF Wireless Extender
Increase the range and versatility of your compatible Harmony remote with this wireless extender. It receives the radio frequency (RF) commands that your remote transmits, allowing you to operate your components from up to 100 feet away.
RF commands pass through walls and floors, just like AM and FM radio signals. When you add this extender, you can use your Harmony remote to control your system from a different part of the house great for folks who have a multi-room audio setup. Or keep your components out of sight in an enclosed cabinet, and use your Harmony remote for convenient access.

IR/RF Control: Logitech's Harmony RF Wireless Extender uses radio frequency (RF) and infrared (IR) wireless signals to deliver powerful complete control of your home-entertainment system that may be hidden behind cabinets when using a compatible Harmony advanced universal remote control (sold separately). With a wireless range of up to 100 feet, your Harmony 890, 1000, 1100 remote sends RF commands to the RF Wireless Extender receiver, which then blasts infrared signals to your components. You can control up to 8 devices with the supplied 4 dual head IR emitters (Each emitter can control up to 2 devices).
Installation: The RF Extender receiver features two keyhole slots and three rubber feet on the bottom of the unit for installation mounting. For AV cabinet installation, you should mount the RF Wireless Extender on the underside of the top shelf facing down and toward the AV devices, with a minimum of 4 inches between the RF Receiver and your entertainment equipment. The RF Extender receiver should be placed no more than 8 feet from your A/V equipment if wall mounting the device when using the supplied IR emitters. The emitters should be attached to the area where the device receives the IR signal or to a surface above, below or in front of the area where the device receives the IR signal. The IR emitters feature a self-adhesive backing to secure them into place. The mini-jack end of the emitter plugs directly into the Wireless Extender.
Controls: The Harmony RF Extender features a Connect button on top of the unit to initialize the unit's RF connection with your compatible Harmony remote control. The RF receiver also features three red led indicators labeled Status, Power and RF on top of the unit to indicate the RF receiver's operation.
