Our take on the Logitech® Squeezebox™ Controller

Upgrade your Logitech Squeezebox or Transporter system with this easy-to-use handheld remote. Or add a second controller to your Squeezebox Duet and dedicate each one to a different room in your house. Logitech's wireless PC music players offer flexible multi-room expansion — add as many players and controllers as you like, and enjoy the music on your PC throughout your home.

The bright, 2-3/8" color LCD screen makes it easy to browse your music collection and select songs and playlists. An intuitive scroll wheel and simple volume and playback buttons make operation a breeze. The controller communicates directly with your computer over your wireless network, so you don't need to stay anchored near the receiver to use it. And it comes with a rechargeable lithium ion battery and recharging stand, so you can keep it ready to play your favorite tunes.

This is NOT and ordinary remote control. It uses wifi to talk to the SqueezeCenter running on your PC, and thus it can control any device that can be controlled by your SqueezeCenter, from anywhere within wifi range.

Furthermore, it has an earphone plug, which (still experimental, but works) lets you use the Controller as a remote music player that can access not only your ripped music, but also any Internet streams.

And the new lower price makes it worthwhile.

The reviewer purchased this item from us, verified by the email address on the order.

I bought this after much research and background reading as a stand alone remote. I have an old computer acting as a music server connected directly to my Home Theater. I installed Squeeze Center and then installed Soft Squeeze (music player for the PC). This eliminated the need for other components and allow me direct access from my PC to the remote.

It works AWESOME! The setup was super easy as the remote literally did all the work and had the connection with 2 minutes. The entire process from hardware end was very straight forward.

The interface is very Ipod'ish but has some very nice unique features. I will say there is a small learning curve to get used to the remote GUI and PC squeeze center, but nothing inhibitory about the interface has come up that is a major factor overall.

This is such a great product and has so much potential, I give the a big recommendation to anyone thinking about going this path.
