The Squeezebox Radio brings the world of Internet music to your nightstand or kitchen countertop. It connects to your Wi-Fi® or wired home network and lets you choose from thousands of Internet radio stations. You can also enjoy personalized music services such as Pandora®, Slacker®,, and Rhapsody®. Tap into the music stored on your computer, or listen to a portable MP3 player you connect to the Squeezebox Radio's auxiliary input.

Great sound and a color LCD screen, too

This compact network music player features a mono speaker system with a separate woofer and tweeter that can put out big, clean sound. The 2-3/8" color screen displays song info, station IDs and other text clearly. It can also show screen savers, visualizers, and other graphics from your streaming sources. Six preset buttons let you quickly access your favorite Internet radio stations.

MOG — over 15 million songs, available instantly

MOG is an award-winning online music service with one of the largest and best-sounding streaming catalogs in the industry. It's the only service to offer all of its music in the 320 kbps MP3 format — that higher bit rate translates to better sound. In fact, we use it frequently in the Crutchfield Labs to test high-end audio gear. MOG's "Primo" service ($9.99/month) gives you unlimited, ad-free access to their extensive music library of over 15 million songs on a wide range of devices including Squeezebox™ network music players, Samsung TVs, your computer, iPad®, iPhone®, and Android™ devices.

Clock radio features

The Squeezebox Radio features a built-in digital clock with a sleep timer. When connected to the Internet, the Squeezebox automatically self-corrects its time — no need to reset it. And you can program your alarm to go off at a different time each day of the week, to fully accommodate your schedule.

Simple Internet setup

Just download Logitech's free Squeezebox Server software to your computer, and set up your preferences. When you turn the Squeezebox Radio on for the first time, it automatically seeks out your Wi-Fi connection, and once logged on, remembers the setting — even if the power goes off.

From the review Spotlight on the Logitech Squeezebox Radio
"The Squeezebox Radio is an extra-strength table radio. I got the wide-ranging music options that I would expect of a wireless music player, with the added bonus of countertop-friendly size. And I got a little something extra with Facebook and Flickr."

Screen Defect

Written By MarthaM, San Francisco, CA on Friday, October 05, 2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have enjoyed using the Squeezebox the last 9 months until the screen/display no longer worked as it should (lit with a shadow background). I started using the remote control function on my computer to select the stations I want to play. After enough of this, I checked to see if it was still under warranty and luckily it is (1 year). I am getting it replaced but not in the red color I originally bought since they no longer have it available. It would have been a great product except for this defect.

Pros: Easy to set up Remote Control from computer Great app integration

Cons: Defective screen

I now have 4 Squeezeboxes, it a great way to distibute the entire MP3 libarary (incl itunes content) throughout the house. Internet radio including Pandora also in heavy use. This is a remarkable design that sounds better than competitive products and has a rich feature set, huge fan of squeezebox!

No fade or static

Written By John A, Cloverdale, Ca on Monday, July 09, 2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Living a hundred miles from San Francisco very few radio station signals are available. This radio opens not only all the local stations but the world as well. We love it. The rich clear sound is a joy.

Pros: We now listen to all stations without static or faded signal.

Cons: Battery should be included even if this raises the price. We are sure the battery was listed as additional, but I assumed the unit came with one. Takes about 45 seconds to "boot up". otherwise it is everything advertised and more. I was a little dismayed to see the price lowered the week after purchase.

Great Radio

Written By Doug T., Pineville, LA on Friday, July 06, 2012

Great sound! I don't know why people think you can't hook it up to a home stereo. All you have to do is but a cable with a 1/8 on one end and rca plugs on the other. Sounds great through my Bose speakers and receiver.

Great Present

Written By Radio listener, Hampton Roads, VA on Tuesday, June 26, 2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bought this as a present for relative - was great hit! Recipient loved it. Would buy again. Recipient was also willing to understand a bit more about internet radio - using Squeezebox website and setting up the radio (with some initial help from us). Great gift for others if: 1. they have broadband, especially wireless 2. they're not technophobes and have some patience for the learning curve - e.g. they're a tad bit savvy with their computer and not calling you every two weeks for a fix. This was a big enough hit we followed up with the battery so they could go portable around the house (with wifi).

Pros: Awesome number of stations, particularly for retired person who wants variety of things to listen to.

Cons: Some stations aren't available, and a couple, like scanners on the internet or some CSPAN require some extra skill to set up (knowing the exact URL or stream and loading it into squeezebox)

Nice Internet Radio

Written By Mike, New Jersey on Saturday, May 26, 2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought the Squeezebox for my 80 year old Mother to use to pick up stations that are not available over the airways. Do not plan to use the Squeezebox for music streamed from the PC, or as an alarm, so no comments on those features. Also don't use the remote. Bought the Red Squeezebox from Crutchfield because of price and their good reputation/support. Delivery was prompt. Setup initially picked up someone else's Wi-Fi network but had no problems getting to mine. Once setup, using the Squeezebox is almost the same as a radio. When turning on the radio, usually have to tap the play button to hear the station that was last playing, or, select one of the pre-set buttons. Navigating the menus and searching for stations is not something easily done for a person who has never done this on any other device. In my case, the 6 pre-sets were sufficient. Audio was good. Not stereo quality, or boombox loud, but ok. The stations are streamed from Comcast broadband using a 6 year old Motorola modem and a Linksys Wireless-G router, which is also 6 years old. Overall, I'm satisfied with the Squeezebox so far (have had it for just 3 weeks). My Mother uses it almost daily, and gets most of the stations she wants (for some reason can't get WFDU, 89.1-FM, to connect/play on the Squeezebox, though it plays on the PC. Tried contacting WarpRadio but no response yet).

Pros: Setup was reasonably quick. Battery (from Logitech) has lasted over 5 hours.

Cons: Battery had to be purchased separately. Searching for stations via the Squeezebox can be tedious, but this can also be done on the PC and the stations added to the Favorites list using Battery does have to be purchased separately, but I suppose that gives you the option of buying batteries from places other than Logitech (or make your own battery pack). The Squeezebox covers and faceplate do show fingerprints and smudges.

Very Very Happy

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

In April 2004 I subscribed to Sirius radio, in April 2012 I droped SiriusXM. After the merger of Sirius & XM the quality of programing deteriated to the point that I only listened to two channels. So I did my homework on internet radio devices and settled on this Logitech 'Squeezebox'. I have purposely waited for over a month to write this review so I could experience what the 'Squeezbox' has to offer.

What a great radio! I admit I'm a devoted radio listener and watch very little TV. So my Squeezbox is often on 15 hours a day and I now have radio from around the entire world to choose from! The setup was simple, the sound delicious, the operating easy. As I write this review I am listening to a station in Brazil. Just wonderful selections and I feel I will never realize the full receptive potential of this radio. Crutchfield was very helpful in explaining the radio and answering questions before and after purchase - and the delivery was FAST.

Pros: Easy to use - easy to set up - attractive design. And you can listen to downloaded music from computer (a first for me).

Cons: ? Not one at this Time ?

Annoying alarm

Written By LW, Boston, MA on Thursday, May 03, 2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased the Squeezebox to replace an old Grace Digital Wireless Internet radio, which I had been very happy with, but was no longer available from Crutchfield. I'm returning the Squeezebox because it just doesn't live up to my old Grace. The alarm doesn't allow you to set it to come on to a pre-set radio station. When the alarm comes on, it plays random annoying generic disco music and it's difficult to shut off once it comes on. The alarm volume is also loud, despite having set it to low. Also, to set the sleep function, you have to go through several non-intuitive menu functions. Third, when the radio is playing, the time display is so tiny that it's unreadable unless you are very, very close to the radio.

Pros: Set up was easy and the sound is very clear.

Cons: Annoying alarm; difficult to navigate through the functions; difficult to find sleep function; time display is too small when radio is playing.

I wanted a radio for my kitchen where I can listen to Pandora and this little radio is perfect. At first I wasn't sure about how well it would sound but it has great sound quality and it is so easy to use. I set up the stations I want on Pandora online and which is easier and automatically the radio is ready to go. I do wish the radio came with the battery instead of having to order it separately...Overall great product

Pros: Portable, easy to use, and great sound quality

Cons: Battery is a special battery which the radio doesn't come with

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great job. Received my Squeezbox the next day at 2 pm. I ordered it at 5 pm the day before.

Pros: Very easy to set up. It was playing internet radio IN 5 MINUTES

Cons: MINOR PROBLEM: Logictech and all of its distributors should state - The Squeezebox DOES NOT come with a battery. It has to be ordered separately. Very confusing to make a playlist from my computer. Easy to make play list folders but not a playis from the folder. I still have not figured it out.

No Reason for Alarm

Written By Mike, Western MA on Saturday, March 31, 2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased this radio to use as an alarm clock, hoping to avoid being awakened by incessant commercials. It is not a good alarm clock. Logitech uses a repetitive, synthetic pseudo-rock track as its default. When the alarm goes off, the radio defaults to this obnoxious "music" until the preselected station come in. The volume control for the alarm is "global." Different stations come in at different volumes, however; If one chooses to awaken to different stations on different mornings of the week, some will be too loud and some too soft. Only by chance will the volume be just right.

Pros: The Squeezebox is a good little radio, when used as such. Logitech claims to be working on software and firmware upgrades to get the glitches out. Compact. Nice sound for its size. Good customer support, as usual, from Logitech.

Cons: Bad alarm clock, so far. Logitech needs to smell the coffee, in this regard.

Good option to hear internet radio/pandora

Written By Chrisc, Milwaukee WI on Monday, March 12, 2012

I'm really pleased with my Squeezebox. It's a great way to be able to access Pandora and TONS of internet radio stations (there's almost too many). Getting it to work with my wireless router was a chore. Their help line was ok, especailly the 3rd guy I talked to. The sound is pretty good. The station pre-sets are handy. Things I wish I could change are-- 1) I wish I could hook up a couple nicer speakers to it to get music in stereo. OR that Squeezebox offered an affordable version w/ 2 speakers. 2) it turns on a little slow.

Pros: Very portabe. Decent sound. Lots of station options. Nice for small spaces.

Cons: Small speaker. A little slow to turn on.

Pretty good kitchen counter radio.

Written By Peter2x4, NYC on Friday, March 02, 2012

Purchased it a few weeks ago, so far its a pretty good kitchen counter radio. I do feel that a little larger speaker perhaps would provide a better base audio. The sound does not match my computer Bose speakers. The 6 pre-select station buttons need a little getting used to, if you hold the button down just a little too long, you just reprogrammed the station. I wish they would have included the battery. Overall, no regrets, I do enjoy it!

Good device, but lacking one thing really really needed.

Written By Need iHeart, MA on Monday, February 27, 2012

This radio has been great, BUT, when iHeartRadio took about 750 stations away from normal streaming, unlike other vendors who have added support for iHeartRadio, Logitech seeam to be stubborn. Their users have been screaming for support because so many of us can no longer listen to our favorite stations. 750 U.S. stations is not a small number of stations to loose. Logitech support says they can't add it until iHeartRadio asks them to add it. What boloney!! iHeartRadio has even published the interface spec for anyone who wants it. If they add this support, again this will be a fantastic radio. Until then DO NOT BUY THIS RADIO - you will really be sorry because so many stations will be unavailable to you.

Pros: Fine product.

Cons: Lack of iHeartRadio support and Logitech does not seem to care.

Squeezebox = modern portable radio fun

Written By LM, Contoocook, NH on Thursday, February 09, 2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Overcame initial and frequent "network dropped" challenge. Tried the factory reset to no avail. Tech support for my router talked me through changing the router channel. Problem solved. Easy start up. So much can be done with this cute little internet radio. What are you in the mood for? One of your Pandora stations? Radio - news, music? What genre or town or country? You can search radio stations by category or look up a station you know. You can do a lot right on the radio or through web portal. We found a fun "vintage jazz" station and were entertained listening to a Swedish kids station. We use it in the kitchen during meal prep, in the living room while playing games, while cleaning in the office... Portable. Sound is good. If I want great sound I turn on the stereo instead. Much better than listening to a smartphone or i-device.

Pros: Easy way to listen to Pandora (computers not tied up). Endless internet radio options. Price was right - inexpensive entree into the world of internet radio.

Cons: Overcame the network issue (it was our router) so no real cons. Oh, it would have been nice if Logitech included the battery pack.

Best yet

I purchased this radio after reading all of the reviews. With the new software update, this radio plays flawlessly and consistently any internet radio station, most especially Pandora where I can listen to my favorite artists anytime throughout my home. I would love to know how to add other speakers to this tiny system! This is an excellent gift to give to yourself, your guests, your family, and your dogs and cats, just like I do!

Pros: Excellent sound, ease of use, consistently reliable--doesn't break down with new software update, portable, and screen size is perfect to entertain. Price at Crutchfield was the best from any other site on the internet!!! Thank you!!

Cons: I can think of none!

I got this to be a satelite sound system to bring background music into the dining room. For that use it's perfect. It's small (wife loves that) and fits out of the way when not in use. The sound is very good for the size. It's a great add on to the logitech system I have in the kitchen. I considered Sono's and went with Kramer's advice of the Logitech and am very happy. Very good product, especially good value.

Love this thing

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is a lot to spend on a clock radio, but I love this thing. You need to be a bit geeky or have access to a geek to rig it to its full potential. Access to virtually every radio station on the planet along with my pandora and SiriusXM accounts is great. I'm going to get one for my office and maybe another for my main stereo to line-in from the headphones jack.

As great as it is i have to withhold 1 star because of the mediocre exterior design.

Pros: - i can listen to almost every radio station on the planet. - automatically recognized my location and listed my "local" stations so setup of those stations was a breeze. - Pandora support is the best - access my SiriusXM subscription - AM stations are clear - high quality with spotty wireless - access to stations I used to enjoy in Chicago - great alarm clock (multiple alarms with their own days/times, cool nature sounds) - sound quality exceeds expectations

Cons: - initially I couldn't get the power cord to work - had to wiggle it quite a bit and tried a few outlets and then it finally woke up. - during initial setup it updated its firmware/software and some of the buttons didn't work. Just had to reboot. - need to backlight the buttons (it's an alarm clock which means low light conditions!) - Program the Earth in 6 presets? come on. I need at least a dozen (add the "Favorites" function to the top of the main menu to solve this problem).

I bought this radio for my daughter in VA. She loves it. It only took her couple of minutes to set it up and use it. It's very user friendly. My daughter like most college kids has traveled to different places all over the world, so this radio is perfect for her. Don't buy an expensive radio like BOSE WAVE radio that only has AM and FM. The Squeezebox has a great sound and hours of fun just listening to radio stations all over the world.

I love this little radio!

Written By Tom H, Sturbridge, MA on Wednesday, September 21, 2011

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased the Squeezebox Radio primarily so I could listen to a terrestrial AM news radio station about 60 miles away. Off the air reception is often extremely poor and I miss a lot of the important traffic reports and news while getting ready to leave for work in the morning. The little Squeezebox gives perfect "reception", and really does the job. But I've discovered so much more. I listen to radio stations in the city I grew up in. What's going on on the other side of the world? No problem with the Squeezebox! I can listen to my SiriusXM subscription as well as my mp3 collections. This is an amazing little "radio", and is easy to set up and use.

**An important note** Recently, CBS Radio shut streaming off to Logitech as well as all the other streaming services, making listeners use their own application. This almost torpedoed my plan to purchase the Squeezebox. But I found a site that lists all of the URL's to a particular CBS radio stations. These can easily be entered into the Squeezebox memory, and once loaded will play any of the CBS stations.

It is easy to set up and easy to use. The sound is incredible for such a small enclosure. It works great with Pandora and Slacker. Also great for listening to NPR. You can listen without interruption to the style of music you want to hear. It also connects to the music you have stored on your PC. All you need is a wireless network for it to work. If you have a wireless hotspot, you can take it on the road or use it anywhere there is WiFi available. Going to add the battery to make it totally portable. The only negative I can think of is that I didn't get one of these sooner.

Only asksare I wish there were more internet radio preset options and the battery and remote should be included with Squeezebox purchase not sold seperately.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I love these units. We have two of these and two of the Boom (larger) units.
We live in an area where it is tough to receive radio stations on standard receivers
(regular or HD).
I had heard mixed reviews on the Squeezeboxes initially and they were quite pricey at
first. I purchased one of these units initially and then quickly followed with a BoomBox
unit after I saw how many station choices we had over the Internet (all for free).
These smaller units also have an accessory pack you can buy that includes a battery so
you can carry it around untethered. Most of the places I work have wireless networks
and I often carry one of these in my work case for some music while I work.
The one in our home is running as soon as someone is up and rarely is turned off
before we start for bed.
As long as you have a good Internet connection (these can use wired or wireless) these
are great units.
You set up a Squeezebox account the first time (free and fast) and then when you log in
with that on a new unit, all of your favorites and settings load on the new unit
Very cool!

I bought this for my wife for Christmas. This radio is unbelievable and perfect
for the kitchen. Great sound fills up the kitchen. Pandora, Sirius, Itunes,
and many other apps.

Truly Amazing

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I am truly amazed with the quality and performance of this radio. It is exactly what I had
been searching for. I was skeptical that it would deliver everything I wanted, but Logitech
really came through. It immediately installed updates for me, and it's simplicity makes it
a snap to set up and use. I went to the Squeezebox web site and was able to download
all of my music right onto the radio. I love it!

Love it!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great design and sound makes this radio a home-run! Initial setup takes a bit of
time, but worth it. The features are very simple to use, but the range of music
sources is fantastic. Access to Flickr and Facebook images is a nice touch. Only
problem I can see is that I want one in every room.

Great sounding radio

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I really like this radio, I listen to Pandora and Shoutcast primarily and as
long as you have a clear signal this radio performs seamlessly. The firmware
updates are automatic and hassle free. I did find a pdf manual online from
Logitech that gave a clear overview to get familiar with the interface. Great
customer service from Crutchfield as well.

Fabulous Radio

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is a great WIFi radio....we use them here at our radio station to give to clients, listeners and also as in-office monitors.

We previously used the IS9181 and it does not support AAC+ streaming, a format that almost all broadcasters are switching to because of its compression, bandwith compatibility and the audio quality....the Logitech has no problems receiving this and many other formats....a great buy!

And Crutchfield is great to work with....they shipped same day and I had the radio sitting on my desk and playing two days later....thanks for the great customer service!!!!

product is OK, but

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Generally speaking is OK product . Two distractions:
1- You cann't use/add a battery. the only way to add battery is to buy a rechargeable battery from Logitech. that battery should be part of the package.
2- No user/owner manual comes with it, and no online manual either. In order to know how to operate the features, you have to call their service people, who admitted there is no instructions for the basic operations/features online or offline. Logitech could do better than that.

Squeexebox Radio

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this radio mainly as a bedside radio to use for music in the bedroom and as an alarm clock. The music function works well for me. I mainly listen to Pandora and I don't seem to have any interruptions in playback. I do have a BIG PROBLEM with the alarm clock function. It is quirky at best. Lately, it is going off at the right time (in previous firmware versions that wasn't even reliable) but about 50% of the time when you snooze the alarm, it comes back on 1 minute later. Snooze it again and it does what it is supposed to do and comes back on in 10 minutes. Returned the first one to Crutchfield and there is no difference.

Great Radio - Not for everyone

Written By SBox Fan, Northampton, MA on Saturday, October 16, 2010

I have had my SBox for a year now. Listen mostly to Pandora and local stations but it can do much much more. This is a great sounding music box but has some quirky things. It's sound is better than most stereos and is the best I have seen for anything this size. It is solidly built and sits firmly on the counter. It is attractive. Its presets and Ipod jack are nice features. Shortcomings are in the web/wifi/computer/router interface. You need to know something about all of this to set it up so it is more like a computer than a radio in that respect. Once its set up and your station/sites are selected, operation is simple. Its software was a problem the first six months - kept turning off - but automatic firmware updates seem to have fixed this. Price is very reasonable. I highly recommend if for someone with a little tech savy. I love it.

Exceptional streaming device

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Very easy set up...wifi hookup was a snap. My family loves the internet radio options as well as the ability to use Pandora. Hooked up to a Roth cocoon amplifier via the headphone jack so the sound is comparable to decent FM tuner/Ipod dock. I would buy another logitech product like the transporter to get the audiophile experience! Crutchfield remains a great way to satisfy my family audio needs.

Pleasantly Surprised

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I was very skeptical of the reviews and Logitech claims after my experiences with the CC WiFi and Sony Dash but the Squeezebox has performed above my expectations. I did have trouble with the product right out of the box. It kept dropping off into space and not holding my pre-sets. One call to live support and a download plus a reset and it has worked pretty much flawlessly since. This is a great bedside radio with worldwide listening just a button away. If you like listening to radio and the different cultures of the world you will absolutely love this little streaming internet radio and Crutchfield is a great place to shop on the net. Now - if only Logitech would make the batteries and control for this thing so you could find them it would be perfect. They are on backorder forever.

Great radio; crummy firmware

Written By Larry, Amherst, NY on Sunday, June 27, 2010

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have 6 Internet radios including 3 Squeezbox Radios, 1 Squeezebox Boom, and 2 other brands. I also have several apps for my iPhone and PC to listen to these same stations on the Internet.

The Squeezebox radios have extremely flakey, unreliable software. They hang, turn off, turn on, and abruptly stop playing for no apparent reason. For 2 months (April-June 2010), the firmware pushed from Logitech made these radios totally useless. The only way I can use them is to revert to older firmware, which is also unstable and tricky to download. Check the forums and Logitech website and you will find that many users are extremely unhappy with this radio for the same reasons I have cited.

It's really unfortunate since the radio looks beautiful, once worked quite well, and may eventually work well again when they figure out how to correct these firmware issues. I have 3 of them and they get very little use. My other radios on the same network here play absolutely fine on the same stations and the issue is definitely the radio firmware. Bad programming, plain and simple.

Unbelievable Clarity, Great Quality

Written By bigrin, Ann Arbor, MI on Tuesday, March 23, 2010

Read the reviews and took the leap. Wanted a clear reception radio for my wife who likes to listen to the radio when going to sleep. Problem has always been getting a clear sounding station at night. Problem solved with the SqueezeBox. First, the clarity of this radio is amazing in such a small package. It is well built, and the sound is unbelievable. When turning the volume up the sound clarity stays pretty much the same, clear as a bell. The set up was very easy, and the choice of internet stations is truly amazing. Loaded free music sites such as Pandora, mediafly, etc., and it's just amazing the choices of programming. The Crutchfield sales staff are really great. First order from Crutchfield and was very impressed. Will certainly order again from Crutchfield, and am seriously thinking about another squeezebox for myself.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I already have the duet from Logitech and added the radio for my bedroom. It's amazing. The alarm works well, the lighting is adjustable and the music sounds good. I don't believe it's stereo sound, but for a bedroom radio it works great. Absolutely easy to set up too. Don't think twice, just buy it and enjoy!

very reasonable sound quality. Setup was simple and straightforward.

Perfect Product...A Dream Come True

Written By Hoppysport, Manhattan, NY on Friday, February 05, 2010

Rarely does a product meet or exceed expectations. The Logitech Squeezebox Radio does. I have grown up as a radio fan, and use it nightly to fall asleep.

I've owned many radios in the past, enjoying them all. Living in NYC, I miss the radio stations in my hometown of Boston. Now I get WEEI and WBZ, among many, many others.

In addition, I get almost all of the podcasts that I usually download from iTunes.

The sound quality is just what it should be, from a mono table radio. The color display is fantastic and informative.

Some have complained about the alarm clock, but I thinks it's the best that I've ever used. I have a Sangean RCR-2 which I think is the baseline for all clock radios...and this exceeds it. What's truly mind-boggling is that you can set a seemingly unlimited amount of alarms, and each can wake you up to a different sound or station.

The Aux-In almost eliminates the need for a dedicated iPod docking clock radio. I have a Sony dedicated iPod docking clock radio, and it's fantastic. It also charges the iPod. That will remain on my night table, as will the Sangean. My two-tiered night table looks like a shelf at a Sony Style store.

But for most, this Logitech Squeezebox Radio will more than fill the bill. What a great product!

Great Product!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is an absolutely fantastic product. Just got it yesterday, and find this to be
revolutionary. Not sure Logitech does justice in their marketing, because the product is
not just a radio, but a new clock radio with so many features for the really affordable
price. You get so many more internet stations than meet the eye. Can program the
alarm clock from the internet at work! Can add apps remotely; can't say enough about
how much this has changed the boring old alarm clock.

It will makes the unit even more complete

The future of the alarm clock radio ( part 2 )

Written By David, Sarasota, FL on Wednesday, December 23, 2009

Sound quality meets my expectations for a mono alarm clock radio in this price range and is quite pleasing at moderate levels.

Living with the squeezebox radio: The alarm clock is best set up from the web interface ( it allows multiple alarms with multiple day configuration. You are able to choose from built in sounds or stations of your choice for alarm tone. The online interface also allows for "remote" operation as well as the ability to add the URL of streams and add them to the unit as favorites. The built in sounds of the unit feature the standard digital blips and beeps along with an assortment of natyre sounds that can be used with the sleep timer. You can also combine the nature sounds with a flickr slideshow of nature images to lull you away to dreamsville. Worthy of note is the LCD screen brightness sensor set to automatic it dims perefctly in a dark room to a barely there appearance. In regards to future expandability the squeezebox can stream your entire audio collection from a networked, powered on computer or specifically from the Net Gear Ready NAS series of network attached storage.

In conclusion I highly recommend this versatile little alarm clock radio to anyone in the market to replace their old clock radio. The future is now.

The future of the alarm clock radio

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The Logitech Squeezebox radio has an attractive small footprint with a bright and vibrant color lcd screen. Although almost entirely plastic it has a decent heft. The gloss black finish tends to pick up fingerprints but wipes clean easily with a soft cloth. Layout is simple with a multi jog dial most prevalent , volume dial, 6 preset , transport control, alarm, and "more" buttons complete the front panel.

Setup requires creating a login for the service initially. After that you simply follow the on screen prompts for wired or wireless operation. My unit found my wireless router instantly. After keying in the wireless router password I was ready to enjoy the future of the alarm clock radio.

Operation is simple the on screen disply allows you to install the available applications such as Pandora, Flickr, Accuradio, Soma FM, last FM etc. Once installed you can choose from any of the applications in addition to searching internet radio stations by genre or name. I found several broken links but in general there is a vast amount of internet stations to choose from. pressing the "more" button while listening to a song allows you to share the song / station info on Facebook should you desire. It also provides stream quality data.

Squeezebox Radio

Written By Anonymous, Charlottesville, VA on Monday, December 14, 2009

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased this Squeezbox as a Christmas present for my wife so that she can enjoy all of her music through the internet and our computer.

I am very impressed with the sound quality of the little radio. I think she will really enjoy the Squeezebox a lot.

Set up for the wireless network proved to be tedious and problematic, which resulted in a call to Logitech's technical service -- they were unable to advise me how to resolve the issue between my wireless router and the radio. After about 4 and a half hours of fussing with it, I discovered that I had to set the router's security to WPA instead of WEP. Once I figured that part out, the radio was set up quickly and is working GREAT.

My 5-Star rating is for the radio itself, not the setup process... I would rate it a 3 or 3.5 due to the setup difficulties.
