Installation
When you arrive for your appointment at your local stereo shop, just hand over the InstallCard, along with the subwoofer or pair of speakers you've purchased and your Crutchfield invoice (it will be included in the box with your order), and your installation begins. And you can feel confident about the quality of work — every installer on the InstallerNet Network has at least two years' experience and is MECP (Mobile Electronics Certified Professional) certified. InstallerNet feels so strongly about the expertise of their installers that they will warranty the labor of your installation for the life of your vehicle.

What does this card cover?
With this InstallCard, a professional installer will remove a pair of factory car stereo speakers and install your aftermarket speakers, wiring them to an amplifier or car stereo system. It may also be used to install a non-powered enclosed subwoofer box or to replace an existing pair of subwoofers in an existing enclosure. Be sure to read the Details below to see what's covered. Important Note: Install Cards are not eligible for refunds once they are activated.

  • If equipment is determined to be defective during the process of the installation or immediately after while still at the install shop the installer will remove and reinstall the equipment at no charge.
  • If the Manufacturer's product becomes defective sometime after the initial installation, and it is determined that the malfunction is not caused by the installation, then the installer will replace the defective unit with a new unit supplied by the customer, and the customer will be responsible for an R&R (removal and reinstallation) charge which will not exceed 50% of the original installation charge.
  • If the customer chooses to remove non-defective equipment (swapping for a different brand, for example), Installer Net will charge for a completely new installation.

Features

Overview: With this InstallCard (42-1002) a professional installer will remove your factory car speakers and install a pair of aftermarket speakers of the same size in the factory mount locations or mount a self-enclosed non-amplified subwoofer box in your vehicle. Speaker installation will include wiring the speakers to an amplifier car stereo using the already existing wires. Some vehicles may require optional mounting brackets or additional labor due to the complexity of the speaker removal.

Disclaimers: This InstallCard (42-1002) does not include the following installation costs:

  • If you are replacing a pair of factory speakers with a pair of aftermarket speakers of a different size.
  • If you have component or separate speakers there will be addition labor that can be paid directly to the installer. The intent of this InstallCard is to replace a pair or two speakers.
  • If the installation requires cutting of vehicle to install speakers.
  • In some vehicles it will require the removal of the entire rear deck, door panels or dashboard to replace the speakers, this may require additional labor charges.
  • Running a new set of wires to either the amp or the radio may require additional labor.

Installation Warranty: Each installation performed using an InstallCard comes with a nationwide limited lifetime labor warranty. If at any time, the installed product becomes inoperable due to a faulty installation the installer will correct the problem at no charge.

Defective Equipment: If the equipment is found to be defective at the time of installation, the installer will remove the defective unit and reinstall a replacement unit (supplied by the customer) at no additional charge. If the installed equipment fails later, after leaving the installation shop, and it is determined that the malfunction is not caused by the installation, the installer will remove and replace the defective unit with a new unit supplied by the customer, and the customer will be responsible for a removal and reinstallation charge which will not exceed 50% of the original installation charge.

I give this product service a two star. this is only good for conventional car install or for cars that are old enough to have an after market product install. if you have newer models, top of the line cars such us push button ignition cars you would definitely be asked to pay additional charges by the installer on top of this install card. for me this is not a good deal. beware of this product service!

These pre-install cards are great, but I learned from the installer I was directed to that they may not cover the full cost of their labor if you live in an expensive region. So, you may end up paying a little more.

I am not technically savvy and wanted to get my son a new stereo and speakers for his car. I did purchase the option through Crutchfield to have a local place install it. First off, the local shop complained they do not get enough money for the jobs and that the estimates for time are too low. I am not sure how that is my problem. Also, they said they are used to working on high end jobs so my son's car would be low priority. The stereo is in and the speakers work but the customer service was terrible.

Cons: Felt like we were second class citizens by using this card- not happy at all.

Would give this a 0 star but 0 was unavailable. Save your money and negotiate directly with the installer. Called InstallCard to schedule the installation but they wont tell you which installer in your area will be doing it until the deal is set. In other words, if you want to avoid a particular site, you might end up getting them anyway. Worse yet, my area had 4 installers that came up on InstallCard's search. the agent at Installcard said she would call me back when she found which one would be available first. That was 7 days ago, and I still haven't heard from anyone @ Installcard. Will be returning all three cards purchased for refund. Too bad this company is staining Crutchfield's reputation.

Installer in Madison Installed only 2 of 4 speakers although Crutchfield sent work order and I provided detailed instructions along with 2 speaker installation cards. Then made me wait another week to schedule the job they should have done right the 1st time.

Pros: Even-though followed instructions poorly, made it right in the end.

Cons: Disappointed they made me wait a week to install, then installed wrong and made me wait another week.

Overall, a really good experience, but things could be a little bit better.

The Good - Installer was great. Worked me in on a Friday afternoon and had my car back to me in a few hours. The not Great - Would've been better to know that I could go ahead and schedule the install prior to receiving the physical card.

Would I recommend this to a friend? Sure. It seems like the Install Card prices were about $10-15 cheaper than what was advertised in store at the installer.

Yes, it is frustrating to not know who the installers are. There's a car audio shop right around the corner from my office. I plugged in my zip and was told there was an installer "0" miles from my location. Turns out the network matches the zip to a city, so it applies to pretty much any installer with an address in Birmingham, Ala.

overall this is a great product as long as you make sure your equipment fits your vehicle. not liking the fact that you have to wait for them to call the shop of your choosing since the shop will be calling you back to set up a real appt anyway. i love this product because i can upgrade my system in steps which fits my budget nicely. just be aware to have patience dealing with the installers because they sure do seem to dislike these cards.

Everything worked as advertised. The cards were easily activated and I was able to make an appointment with an installation center near my house at a time that was reasonably convenient. Would use again, depending on my vehicle.

Pros: It worked seamlessly, no issues.

Cons: PRICE. It's $54.99 per SET (2) of speakers, and very few people will install just 2 speakers in their cars these days. Most sedans have the rear speakers in the rear door panels, not the back panel which is easily accessible from the trunk. It only took my installer one hour to do all four in my 2011 Taurus, so to me $109.98 seems a bit excessive for an hour's labor. If you have an older vehicle or have done this a few times skip the installcard and do it yourself.

I would certainly do this again. It was an easy process. I had choices of where to go and could get. Convenient appointment. The additional peaked installation costs were a bit of a bummer. My pilot required futon brackets tht tacked n additional $130 to the cost. I should have known that going in, but since I had a big box of stuff to install it wasn't like I had a choice. Apparently this is common market practice nice I cme up when I was shopping before buying from Crutchfield.

The cards worked fine. I have no existing relationship with a car stereo place, and the cards served to select one and send me to it. The work was fine, price was reasonable. I needed much more high end clarity for music and news, and this upgrade worked fine. The Honda Oddysee is not really quiet inside, and the low door speakers get muddied up.

I bought the install card for some front door replacement speakers. First installer I was given said the speakers were not right for my car. I called
Crutchfield and verified that they were. I requested a different installer from "Install Card" and it worked out well...speakers were installed in about 20 minutes, no questions/problems, sound great. I think the first guy just didn't want to do it for the money he was getting.

Reasonably priced and card arrived promptly. Thought it was a little odd that you are not given a list of installers by name and location, just distance from your zip code. (Google Maps can help you narrow down the possibilities). As chance would have it, I got a good shop and installer and good results. Needed to reschedule the appointment directly with the shop who were very accomodative.

An excellent result with just one Star subtracted for the "which installer will I get" Mystery factor.

Ordered my card online, and was at my house in 2 days. Crutchfield sent me an email a day before it came to set up the appointment though, which was really appreciated as I wanted to get it done ASAP. Gave my card to the installer, and he knew just what to do, I didn't have to say anything!! My install went great with no problem, and I was outta there!! That's that way all installations should go. Thanks Crutchfield.......(One thing the shop charged me $25 for an extra adapter, expect there to be at least an extra charge or something, as the shops have to make money too. But $25 was nothing, as I was expecting more like $100.)

I did not want the job done in my apartments parking lot, so that everyone would know about my new speakers. The Installer was good and fast. The cleanup was poor. The price was good.
