Note: InstallCard uses a network of independent contractors who are unaffiliated with Crutchfield, and we are unable to evaluate each individual contractor.

How does it work?

Simple. First, enter your zip code to see if there's an InstallCard installer in your area (if you don't see an installer listed, you may wish to call InstallerNet at the number listed below the zip code field. New installers are added to the network frequently, so there may be options available for you that aren't yet listed online). Then, just add this card to your online shopping cart, and proceed through checkout as usual. When you receive the card from us, visit www.installcard.com, enter the unique InstallCard number on the back of the card, and schedule your installation with the local shop.

Installation

When you arrive for your appointment at your local stereo shop, just hand over the InstallCard, along with the backup camera you've purchased and your Crutchfield invoice (it will be included in the box with your order), and your installation begins. And you can feel confident about the quality of work — every installer on the InstallerNet Network has at least two years' experience and is MECP (Mobile Electronics Certified Professional) certified. InstallerNet feels so strongly about the expertise of their installers that they will warranty the labor of your installation for the life of your vehicle.

Installer won't answer the phone?!

Written by: F-Beetle from Nevada on April 18, 2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Per instructions, I called to activate the card and request an installation appointment as soon as possible. After a few days of hearing nothing, I called again asking about the status. I was told that: "Oh, the installer won't answer the phone". After a managed to recover the shrapnel of my exploded head, I asked whether there might be a chance that in this major urban center there might be another installer? And, rather than trying to call someone who doesn't answer, make some effort to follow up.

Pros: Pre-paid convenience

Cons: Cost for installation seems to be quite expensive. Lackadaisical attitude at the other end of the phone.

Crutchfield response on May 6, 2015 We checked with the customer, and he was eventually able to reach the installer and his equipment installed.

InstallCard needs competent installers

Written by: RKS from Maryland on March 29, 2015

First off, nothing wrong with the card purchase or the idea behind it. The price I paid is about half what it would cost locally for my after market installation. Unfortunately the installer, after my waiting nearly 5 hours, couldn't get it to work and had no explanation. I'm no expert so I called the company I bought the system from and they sent an email that basically said they either hooked it up incorrectly, or didn't secure the connections properly. I took their note back to the installer and a half hour later they said it worked and I was good to go. They were friendly and the price was right, but I wouldn't use them again. So 5 stars for the card if you're lucky with the installer.

Pros: Good concept, works with non-Crutchfield purchased gear, very inexpensive compared to local people

Cons: Installer was incompetent or careless, better supplier screening desirable

Works as advertised.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I did not have time to install my son's Christmas gift, a safety backup camera, so I contacted Installer-net through Crutchfield. I had purchased stereo and other car stuff from them in the past and got the camera from them. The card came quickly and I called the folks to do the install. It is set up for Tuesday, so I am expecting a super job.

Pros: Easy to find someone to do something I was never going to get around to doing

Cons: none
