It's the ultra-flat Bluetooth speaker that delivers ultra-full sound. Though only 3/4" thick, the Soundmatters foxL DASH 7 uses innovative speaker technology to deliver your streaming music with spacious clarity.
Connect wirelessly to the DASH 7 from your Bluetooth-enabled device. Stream music from your laptop or smartphone. Enjoy more realistic sound effects from your portable game console. Hear dialogue more clearly from the videos playing on your smartphone or tablet. The DASH 7 works with virtually all Bluetooth-enabled devices, including Android™ smartphones and tablets, as well as Apple portables, such as the iPhone® and iPad®.
Lay flat (below, left) for omni-directional sound, or use the travel case as a stand (above, right) for personal listening.
Two 1" speakers — Soundmatters' unique combinations of woofers and tweeters — deliver solid mids and clear high tones. There's even an ingenious "BassBattery." The system's lithium-ion battery, encased in rubber, doubles as a bass radiator to pump out the lows. But if that's still not enough, a line-level output lets you connect the system to an external subwoofer.
Lay the DASH 7 flat on its back for omnidirectional sound that everyone can enjoy. The flat surface also helps reinforce the low tones for stronger bass. Or fold the system's travel case into a stand that points the DASH 7 at an upward angle — ideal for individual listening.
A built-in microphone lets you carry on hands-free conversations through the DASH 7. You can even use it as an impromptu speakerphone for conference calls. And because the microphone is noise-canceling, you'll hear — and be heard — with greater clarity.
The DASH 7's built-in rechargeable battery gives you up to 12 hours of operation, and can be charged either through its AC adapter or a USB connection to your computer or other device. And with the included international power adapters you can always keep the system charged wherever you are.
yuck! The original FoxL is way better and even better than that is the Bose Sound Link Mini......returned and got another Bose Mini..... FoxL is discontinued.....Crutchfield has amazing customer service!! Best customer service on the planet.
Pros: unfortunately none
Cons: sound isn't as good as the FoxL
I own both the foxL V2 and Dash 7. The DASH7 is a lot sleeker and fit really well in my study. It has a magnetic backing and that is really a great idea because I have a magnetic Sticker on the Back Board of my Study Desk and this sticks very nicely on it. The bass is really amplified by the wood flush against the speaker back. The quality of the sound quite extraordinary. So with the speaker mounted at ear-level when I sit at my desk, the trebles are nice and sharp and the bass is really expansive.. even at very low volume. I have the DASH7 setup as my laptop external speaker and it works great. No wires, The Bluetooth works great. The charge holds for quite a while. Probably well over a few days, I dont quite know how long because, I recharge once 3 or 4 days just to be safe. The bass does drop off a lot when the unit is not flush against a good sounding board, but I dont notice that since I never have to move my speaker.
Pros: Great sound wired or wireless. Sleek looks.
Cons: None that I can see.
I love it I can take any where it's like having a radio with out the the plug and no batteries
Pros: No plugs no batteries
Cons: Batterie doesn't last but four hours then I have to recharge
Great sound for a very small speaker. Like the microphone with Bluetooth for my cell phone
Pros: Sound and portability
Cons: The case doubles as a speaker stand but is difficult to fold and hold up the speaker . The Three buttons are small and slightly difficult to use but I did get comfortable using them
I purchased this speaker after researching it extensively on the web, and I am really impressed with it. For such a small unit, it delivers great sound across the spectrum, treble to bass. I was looking for the ability to play music files from my phone and laptop, and this fits the bill. I hate to sound trite, but really a nice "Apple" experience opening up the device. The packaging is substantial and the graphics really give you a feel for the fact that it's a nice product. Holding the speaker in my hand, I was impressed by the size -- smaller than a remote, very slim. It comes with several adapters, so if you are traveling to the UK or elsewhere, tuck the appropriate adapter in your bag. Easy to hook up and use, the LED buttons give you visual cues on how to adjust the sound on the fly. The colors could be tweaked a bit, but let me explain: trying to adjust the volume in the dark (so that the wave sounds can lull me to sleep) can be problematic! The sound is really full and vibrant -- everything from rock to classical sounds awesome on this unit! It comes with a cover/stand that is quite convenient and tilts the device to deliver good sound for any application. Overall, I'm really pleased with this Bluetooth speaker, and recommend it heartily, as I recommend Crutchfield. The Crutchfield team is personable and knowledgeable, and great to work with. Their site is extremely intuitive and user friendly. Kudos to Soundmatters, and to Crutchfield!
Pros: Ease of use, great sound, reasonable price
Cons: can't think of any!
This product amazed me. It sounded great! Better than I expected.
I wasn't sure about this little speaker at first....but after using it a few days I was hooked! beautiful sound!! Your paying for sound quality here and not "loudness"...don't get me wrong, this little guy gets loud for its size but the sound quality (which is what I was going for) is AMAZING! No regrets here!
Pros: Battery life Sound Quality It's small Wrap around case
Cons: Buttons are a little hard to use but no big deal once you get use to it.

I can't answer this. Sorry. [ Tom Aug 23, 2014 ]
Soundmatters' DASH7 product page says it comes with a wall charger with the following specs: 100-240V 5V 2A Max 10W But I travel with & use my DASH7 all the time, and have never used the supplied charger. I do almost always use Soundmatters' charging cable, which has a standard USB A male plug at one end and then a little round plug that goes into the DASH7's 5V power input. I use that cable with any standard USB charger, e.g., iPhone/iPad etc - including car chargers with USB outlets. The DASH7 can also be charged using a standard micro USB cable - the input for that is right next to the 5V power input on one side of the DASH7. Soundmatters says that the DASH7 will charge faster if one uses their cable vs. micro USB; and also that, if one uses the DASH7 powered via their cable, its potential sound output will be higher than if it's being used on battery or plugged in via micro USB. BTW, my DASH7 is playing as I write this, plugged in via Soundmatters' cable to an Anker 5-outlet USB charger that puts out 2.1A to each outlet. Yesterday, I used it for 6 hours in the car, plugged in via a 2-outlet car charger that also puts out 2.1A to both outlets. I highly recommend this product - the sound quality is quite remarkable, especially given its ridiculously small size. [ Michael Aug 17, 2014 ]
It comes with a Universal 5V 2A adapter along with 3 international plug adapters that should allow its use any any country. Universal implying input voltage is 110 to 220V AC 50 to 60Hz. It also has a 5V micro-USB socket so you can charge it from your PC. If you want a 12V DC Input DC to 5V Output Adapter, I suggest you buy a Car Adapter with a microUSB 5V output. [ RAMESH Aug 17, 2014 ]
Manual is available on Soundmatters web site. Output is 5V 2A maximum. I am sure you could find a car adapter for it. [ SETH Aug 17, 2014 ]
