Experience the convenience of remote starting
You can start your car from up to 2000 feet away — that's over one-third of a mile — with Viper's Model 4606V remote start system. Just push a button on the remote, and your car will be warmed or cooled just to your liking when you get to it. The remote also locks and unlocks your car, and pops open the trunk if you want.
Important Note: Because of safety concerns, we strongly recommend professional installation for remote start systems in vehicles with manual transmissions.
Expandable system
Four auxiliary channels allow you to add functions like turning on the interior lights. The Model 4606V system is also compatible with any Viper SmartStart module, which allows you to start your car via your smartphone with no limit to the range, as long as you have phone service.
2-way ready
Viper includes a 5-button, 1-way remote with the 4606V. If you prefer to receive verifications of your system's status, you can add the optional 2-way LED remote with its simple indicator lights, or upgrade to the 2-way LCD remote, which shows you what's happening with your car in even greater detail.
Important Note:
We offer a databus interface module that can save you lots of time when you install a Viper remote start system in most vehicles. Chat or call us at 1-888-955-6000 to see if the interface will work with your vehicle.

General Features
Overview: The Viper Model 4606V 1-way Remote Start and Keyless Entry system can start your car and run it by remote control from a distance of up to 2000 feet for a preset amount of time. It will also function as a keyless entry system, but only after the vehicle is remotely started via the transmitter. The Model 4606V does not provide car security.
Installation: Because of the complexity of modern vehicles and remote start and keyless entry systems, professional installation is recommended. For experienced do-it-yourselfers, you may be able to save time and money by using a T-harness or vehicle interface from XpressKit. Contact a Crutchfield Advisor to see if there is an interface available for your vehicle.
Remote: The Model 4606V includes one 5-button transmitter (7656V) with 1-way operation. The remote has dedicated buttons for Lock, Unlock, Remote Start, and Aux/Trunk. The Function button allows you to reach additional levels of commands, auxiliary channels, and programming options. The system is also compatible with the optional 2-way 7756V LCD remote and the 2-way 7856V LED remote. The 7656V remote is powered by a CR2032 battery (installed).
SuperCode: The system includes SuperCode technology for a more secure operation. The system's signal encryption protocol is based on software, which is superior to the hardware-based Clone Safe Code-Hopping found in other models. SuperCode technology also lets you control the operations of two cars by a single remote.
D2D Port: The Model 4606V's control module has a D2D port that will allow you to plug in an XpressKit vehicle interface. XpressKit interfaces are vehicle-specific, and can greatly reduce installation time by interfacing with your vehicle's factory wiring. Check the Crutchfield Vehicle Selector to see if an XpressKit interface is available for your vehicle.
SmartStart Compatible: The optional Viper SmartStart module lets you start, control, or locate your car from virtually anywhere with your smartphone. Available SmartStart modules include the VSM200, VSM250 (with GPS), and VSM50BT (with Bluetooth). A dedicated 3-pin Bitwriter/SmartStart port is provided on the control center allows you to plug in the Viper SmartStart module.
Car Finder: If you're having difficulty finding your vehicle in a crowded parking lot, the car finder function will cause the horn to emit one long honk and the parking lights to flash for 10 seconds, to help you to locate your vehicle.
Panic Mode: If you are threatened in or near your vehicle, you can attract attention by triggering the system with your remote. Panic mode requires the horn honk circuit to be connected.
Rapid Resume Logic: This Viper remote start system stores its current settings in non-volatile memory. If power is lost, the system will recall the stored settings from memory when power is restored.
Remote Starter Features
Remote Starting: Pressing the Remote Start button on the remote for a second will remotely start the vehicle and run it for 12 minutes. You can extend the run time to 24 or 60 minutes. If you wish to pre-heat or pre-cool the vehicle, you must preset the climate controls prior to starting the vehicle. When you are ready to drive the remotely-started vehicle, insert the ignition key, turn it to the On position (not Start), and press the brake pedal.
Crank Time: If the unit is programmed for no engine checking or voltage sense, the crank time must be set to the appropriate duration. The default setting is 0.6 seconds. It can be lengthened to 0.8, 1.0, 1.2, 1.4, 1.6, 1.8, 2.0, or 4.0 seconds.
Diesel Start Delay: If you have a diesel vehicle, you can set the starter to delay by a few seconds before engaging. The Diesel Start Delay duration can be set to 15, 30, or 45 seconds. Gasoline engines will start approximately 4 seconds after the system acknowledges the start command by flashing the parking lights.
Advanced Start Features: The Viper Model 4606V's Advanced Start features can automatically start the engine to maintain battery charge or combat extreme cold when parked for an extended period of time. The Timer Start feature starts the engine after a pre-programmed amount of time, and runs the engine for the preset runtime. The default interval is 3 hours and the default number of starts is 6. Smart Start adds a couple of conditions to the Timer Start settings. When the interval timer expires, the vehicle's interior temperature and battery level is checked. If the temperature is above 100° or below 0°, or if the battery voltage is below 10.5V, the engine will start.
Turbo Timer: When the Turbo Timer mode is activated, the system keeps the engine running at idle for the Turbo Timer runtime (default 1 minute). This allows enough time to properly cool the turbo before turning it off.
Pit Stop: This feature allows the vehicle to remain running after the key has been removed from the ignition. This is useful for those occasions when you wish to exit and lock the vehicle for short periods of time while leaving the motor running and the climate controls on.
Automatic Shut-down/Starter Lockout: After the vehicle is remote-started, the remote starter will shut down when the brake pedal is pressed, the hood is opened, if the run time expires, or when the remote start command is sent again from a remote control. In addition, if the hood is opened or if the brake pedal is pressed, you cannot start the vehicle using the remote starter.
Anti-grind Circuitry: Whenever the vehicle is started using the remote, advanced anti-grind circuitry prevents the starter from being engaged using the key. (In other words, it won't let you try to start the car with the key if the remote starter has already been engaged.) This prevents damage to the starter motor. The optional Failsafe Starter Kill relay must be installed in order for the anti-grind circuitry to work.
Shutdown Switch: You can temporarily disable the remote start unit to prevent the vehicle from being remote started accidentally by switching the supplied neutral safety toggle switch to the Off position.
Auxiliary Outputs: The Model 4606V's three auxiliary channel outputs can activate many of the convenience features found on today's vehicles. Some of those features include: Trunk release, Open/close windows, Left sliding door open/close, Right sliding door open/close, Rear hatch open/close, Sunroof open/close, Audio system, and Headlights.
Keyless Entry Features
Unlocking The Vehicle: The Model 4606V will remotely unlock the vehicle's doors only after the engine has been remotely started via the transmitter. The system can be programmed to lock and unlock the doors as the ignition is turned on or off. If properly connected and programmed, the power doors will lock three seconds after the ignition is turned on, and unlock when the ignition is turned off. The lock and unlock functions are separately programmed.
Driver Door Priority Unlocking: The system can be configured to emulate an OEM style of driver priority unlocking for additional safety and convenience. When programmed, the driver door will unlock with the first press of the unlock button, and the remaining doors will unlock with a second press of the button.
Comfort Closure: Some vehicles have the ability to roll the windows up or close the sunroof by turning the key in the door cylinder or holding the lock button of an OEM keyless entry. The system's Comfort Closure feature will emulate this convenience feature when properly programmed, automatically closing the windows and sunroof when the doors are locked.
