The XpressKit DBALL2 module works in even more vehicles than the original DB-ALL module, and is compatible with all Viper, Directed, and Python security systems, as well as most other brands.

Simplifies your security wiring

A single data-to-data harness connects your Viper (or other Directed) system to the DBALL2, so you don't have to hard wire your security system to a lot of door locks, solenoid releases, and other sensors — you'll save a huge amount of installation time. The DBALL2 module usually connects to your vehicle through 2 to 6 hardwired data connections, but we do carry some vehicle-specific T-Harnesses that make that connection much easier (call for details). Your DBALL2 module will come pre-programmed for your specific vehicle, so you'll have total control over locking and unlocking doors, starting the engine, arming and disarming the factory alarm, and any other computerized function your vehicle can perform.

Even simpler installation for remote start-ready vehicles

Many vehicles are remote-start-ready. If you own one of these, you probably won't even need a separate remote start system — just use an XpressKit DBALL2 and a T-Harness (if available). To activate the remote start, you'll need to press "Lock" three times on your factory remote. For extended range, add a Viper SmartStart module to control your vehicle remotely by smartphone. Features

Overview: The XpressKit DB-ALL2 module, along with numerous vehicle-specific harnesses, will interface with the factory wiring of hundreds of vehicles to help you install a car security system, remote start system, or keyless entry system. It is optimized to integrate with security and remote start systems from Viper, Python, Clifford, Avital, Autostart, Astrostart, and Automate, and features multi-bus and advanced OBD2 connectivity for SmartStart remote start systems. DB-ALL2 is RSR (remote start ready) and RXT (remote extender ready) compatible, with customizable features with Xpress VIP. By plugging between factory wiring harnesses, the DB-ALL2 saves you time by preventing much of the cutting and splicing usually required for installation. Flash Required: The DB-ALL2 module must be programmed with the latest vehicle-specific firmware before it is installed. If I put this in a 2016 Toyota Tacoma and use the OEM fob 3xLock to remote start, will the OEM fob unlock the doors as-is? I've heard there's a modification that needs to be done, is that correct and if so what is it? Thanks.

Carlos- I myself have a 2015 Jeep Wrangler. When you state, "just connect the harness to ignition switch harness and done", are you referring to splicing wires? I have read that splicing or having to connect wires will void warranty. Using the dball2 express kit, I have read there are products that are simply plug and play and you do not have to wire into factory harness.

The Dball 2 kit makes it so you don't have to splice as many wires, especially if you are going to make it so your heater turns or or anything like that. Regardless of what system you choose you have to splice into the factory wiring harness. As far as your warranty goes they have to show that your system caused the failure to not provide a warranty.

I Have used a few of these with the viper remote starts. There is always some splicing on the nissans that I used them on; however, if you use t-tap connectors for the splicing it is very neat install.

This module WILL work with your Jeep, I just put it in my 2015 Wrangler. The two basic products are the DBALL2 and the CHTHD2 harness which makes this plug-and-play. You will simply need a T20 long driver to remove the steering column cover. Connect the harness to the ignition switch harness and done. Crutchfield will pre-program this for your vehicle when you buy it. Now this will simply give you remote start using the factory key fobs. Press lock three times and it will start. You DO NOT need any other remote start items! You do not need an alarm or the factory remote start kit. Just this and the harness. I also added a Smart Start kit, which simply plugs into this module. Now I can remote start with my phone at any distance, and the alarm signals the phone if it goes off.

I myself attempted to install this on a 2013 Acadia. Wasn't what the sales person said it was so I returned it. I was after a remote start and this was just for system acceptance of a remote start to be installed. Sure this doesn't help but just in case your thinking like I was told.

I assume you want to use this with a Directed alarm product such as Viper? If so, I decided to install a Viper alarm and the DBall2 interface myself in a 2009 Chevy Silverado 1500 without the remote start feature and I have to say it was a good challenge. I have general knowledge on vehicle alarm systems and it's been awhile since I've done one and I will tell you a lot has changed. To make it easier I also used the available T-harness and this really simplified things beyond explanation. Definitely use one if it's available to you with your vehicle. It cuts time and requires very little hard wiring (three wires total from the DBall2 but the alarm requires hard wiring also). Make very sure you get an alarm with the data to data port or the interface is useless. I found this out the hard way because customer service did not tell me this. Tech support was hit and miss since going of a reference manual is something you can figure out yourself but they do fix their mistakes and are honest if they don't know about a subject and will reference you to someone who does but it's a little tricky even then. I had to buy another upgraded model (not to happy about that) with the data to data port and the system worked great once you have a full understanding of what goes where. All my factory features remained the same, since that's how the interface works, it does not override your factory settings but has programming options. The alarm still requires a few connections and some programming. But, overall the system works, all total I did ended up going WAY over budget and truthfully, I would have saved tremendously if I had gone to the pros that do this all day. Although I have gained a way better understanding about how vehicle alarms work and why, I would not do it again. If your up for a pretty decent challenge, then this is for you. If you think this type of project is a little over your head, most definately take it to the pros. I hope this helps.
