Our take on the XpressKit PKTX

by Ken Nail

XpressKit modules work with your vehicle's anti-theft system to incorporate the convenience, security and luxury features of your Python® alarm system.

An XpressKit interfaces with vehicles by routing commands through your vehicle data system, so it's more secure. You have fewer wires to connect and, best of all, your extra key stays with you, not in your car.

The PKTX module allows you to bypass your factory transponder, and is compatible with any brand remote start system. The PKTX is compatible with select 2000-up Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, Jaguar, Mazda, Toyota, Lexus, and Scion vehicles with 40-bit and 80-bit anti-theft systems. The compact module comes with harnesses and a built-in transponder data interface port.

1 question already asked

i have a 2001 ford mustang 3.8L v6. I plan on owning this car forever. i recently lost my factory keys and had to pay a locksmith a large amount of money to "reprogram" a set of transponder keys. I never want to do that again. So im looking for a permanent way to disable PATS on my vehicle. my question is, will this disable pats permanently? so i can just go to the hardware store and cut new keys when i need them? also, is there a way i can view the installation guide before i purchase. im an electrician so it shouldnt be hard, but i just want to know what im getting into. • You will want to contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat to discuss how this will impact the PATS. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and see if this will integrate the way you want it to. If it does not, then they will also be able to discuss other options with you.
