Bad luck on two open-box units

Had bad luck on two open-box SC-C1 units...1st had an issue with the antenna
connector and was an out of (open) box failure....the second worked (but was a
little flaky) for 2 months and then abruptly died.
Ended up spending the extra money on a brand spanking new unit that has worked
great.
Crutchfield was great handling the returns and offered the upgrade to a brand
new unit.
Great support but I will never buy an open box audio/video component again.

Installed with the Clarion CX609 and the Clarion CLASC1. It has long wires for a long install. I wish that during the install there was some way to only have a set of wires on the end. It has the antenna on one end and an elbow connector on the other.
Both can be hard to work through small crevices and openings to get the wire routed. I took off one star for this.
Also, with the CX609 you have to connect all of the yellow wires in the wiring harness for this to power up. Neither Crutchfield or Clarion's instructions referenced this "feature".
Anyway, one call to tech support and it was fixed. Funny, no matter what type of thing I install from crutchfield it always requires one call to support. Very glad they have it.

Excellent add-on. I've had Sirius since they launched. I've used dedicated tuners before, but had switched back to a plug and play radio. Finally, no more lost signals and interference!!!!!!!!!
I would definately recommend this for your Clarion!
