Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

the dock and charger work fine. much improved over the s50. don't expect to get rf more than 12" from the dock and this goes for the car dock as well:)

Could be better.

A good way to use the Stiletto at home, but the feel and quality of it seems cheap, especially the remote.

Nice setup, poor radio transmitter

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I was very excited to receive my Stiletto Home Kit. It was very easy to install and actually used my old antenna I had already set up and was using with my Starmate 1. That was a nice surprise that I didn't have to set up a new antenna. The base unit also uses the same power adapter as teh home kit for the Starmate. The remote is easy to use and is a good size. I like the extra battery charger slot in the back of the base unit as well.

The only flaw is that the radio transmitter is extremely weak. I had trouble picking up the frequency only a couple feet from the base unit. I tried at least 10 different frequencies just to make sure I wasn't getting interference from local radio. And I tried three different radios to pick up the transmission. There are cables to hook it directly to my stereo, but it is more of a hastle to move it to the room I need it every time instead of just tuning the radio in the room to the transmitter frequency.
