The crowning touch — you can adjust the button lighting to match the color of your dash illumination.

Kenwood KDC-BT752HD

Hands-free calls and audio streaming
When a call comes in, just touch the dedicated "phone" button and talk hands-free — just like your caller is sitting next to you. The receiver will even auto-reply to text messages to let your correspondents know that you're busy driving. And Bluetooth audio streaming connects this receiver to songs stored on your compatible music player — with no wires cluttering up your dash and console.

Experience HD Radio™
HD Radio offers the best in radio sound, with FM that's near CD-quality and AM that comes through like old-school FM. This Kenwood features a built-in HD tuner so just tune into your participating local stations and enjoy — no muss, no fuss, and no subscription fee.

Plenty of other music options
Connect your iPod® or iPhone® into the receiver's front-panel USB input, and start searching through your albums, artists, and playlists for your favorite tunes with the easy-to-use controls. And if you've got your music on an Android device, you're still in luck. Go to the Android market and download Kenwood's free Music Control app. You'll enjoy a variety of search and playback features when your phone is plugged into the front-panel USB port.

Streaming radio from your phone
If you enjoy Pandora® Internet radio on your iPhone®, Android, or Blackberry, you'll appreciate the built-in Pandora® controls — you can scroll through your stations, bookmark songs, and give a thumbs-up or thumbs-down right from the receiver's face. If you need more options, you can plug most audio sources into the front-panel auxiliary input, and you can also play all kinds of CDs, even discs that you've loaded with MP3 and WMA files.

Want to keep your car's steering wheel audio controls?
In most vehicles, you can use an adapter to connect your vehicle's steering wheel controls to this Kenwood stereo. Connect a few wires, then program the adapter for your particular car and this Kenwood, and you'll retain the convenience of your steering wheel controls. Check the "Accessories" tab for compatible adapters.

Bluetooth note: Use of this receiver's Bluetooth features will depend upon your phone's Bluetooth capabilities. Learn more in our article explaining Bluetooth profiles.

Great product and a great price. A lot of settings most head units don't usually have. If your in the market for a new unit this should be looked at. Great product overall no complaints!

I purchased one last year from Crutchfield. After working flawlessly for a while, a-day-long socal sunlight and heat seemed to have killed some smd inside; the head unit turned blue and purple, and showed no responses to any buttons, just as what happened to other customers. So I took the head unit off and stored it in the glove box for a few months. Then one day out of curiosity, I put the head unit back on: The receiver lives! Not sure what happened exactly. But a few days earlier, I did disconnect the car battery and pull/plug the fuses while swapping headlight bulbs. I guess that had powered off the receiver and reset the system. The feign death happened again some time later. But the reason seemed to be the head unit was not secured correctly.

Pros: Greatly HD radio quality, sound quality, and ample connectivity.

Cons: The QC issue (see above), while recoverable in my case, is regrettably inexcusable. Some important functions are off by default, and buried deeply in the menu system.

    Worked well until...

Bought this less than a year ago and it worked fine for a while. Now the lights on the front are a weird pink and blue, and the unit will not turn on. Very upset that this head unit did not even last a year.

    Pros: Nice while it worked

    Cons: Does not work anymore

Disappointed in product and installation guide

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this radio to replace my factory install, which did not pick up stations well (I live in a fringe area). The radio had a high receptivity factor, so I hoped for improvement. When it arrived, I found that the installation guide was really inadequate in telling how to safely remove the old radio. So I signed up for the InstallCard prepaid installation. Installer did a great job, by the way. After the radio was installed, its receptivity was noticeably worse than the factory radio. To boot, the display is really difficult to read during the day, as the reflection of sunlight off the panel is far brighter than the display.

Pros: Good InstallCard installation. Bluetooth interaction is nice (cellphone, Pandora, etc.)

Cons: Poor FM fringe receptivity (worse than factory radio) Difficult to read display during daylight Inadequate installation guide.

Wow, what a great H/U. I'm so impressed. I've only had it in for a couple of days so I am still trying to work out all the different knobs and features. As I play with it more I wll update. So far the only thing I haven't figured out is the B/T and Pandora. It does not always connect, and the clock feature getting it to stay on constantly. Love the sound the adjustability and the look is amazing.

Pros: features, look and the geek in me love this unit

Cons: Pandora and B/T but they may be my phone

Fast 2 day shipping was great! All products came and were in unopened perfect condition. I even ordered an open box unit which appeared to have never been opened. Unfortunately, the kit that was provided does not fit this head unit. I understand most single din head units are "standard size" but apparently not this one. I attempted to install with a Scosche 142CR1286B dash kit, but it did not fit. I too had to modify the ISO brackets, but the final trim piece that is unique for my vehicle did not fit. Crutchfield sent out another dash kit, but it was for a Jeep with navigation, which mine does not have. I figured I would hook this unit up and test it anyways before I went to a local retailer to purchase a different dash kit. It worked well unit I found that the local retails don't carry a different dash kit for my Jeep Grand Cherokee. I called Crutchfield and asked for an exchange for an Apline CDE-HD137BT. Recieved this unit 2 days later and it fit perfectly into the Scosche 142CR1286B kit. No problems and very please with new Alpine unit. I am in the process of returning this Kenwood HU now.

Pros: Attractive and has great features for the price point.

I bought this because I wanted Bluetooth calling, iPod connectivity, and Pandora connectivity. I've got an iPhone 3GS. Bluetooth phone works OK. People I call tell me the sound quality of my voice isn't great, but that's not a surprise considering the built-in mike. iPod works great. But with an iPhone, Pandora is a big disappointment. You can't stream via Bluetooth to the Pandora source on the receiver (this has been confirmed by Kenwood tech support) as you can only do that with a Droid (or maybe Blackberry... I"m not sure). You can stream via Bluetooth to a Bluetooth audio source on the receiver. and it sounds OK, but you don't get song titles displayed and you have no control from the receiver or steering wheel controls. Or, you plug in via USB. Then you get song titles and receiver control but you have to unplug if you want to change Pandora stations. Also, if you're out running errands and want to keep your phone with you, you're got to unplug and plug in every time you get in and out of the car. So if you have an iPhone and want to listen to Pandora a lot I recommend you try a different product.

    Pros: Good iPod interface

Cons: Poor voice quality Poor Pandora interface for iPhone Slow to connect to phone and download contact info on startup

It was easy to get the dash cover off on my 2005 Hundai Elantra GT Hatchback- instructions for all parts were pretty simple. I'd never installed one before and feel empowered :) I don't know if it's the unit or the way we did the wiring, but the two component speakers on the upper doors are not outputting any sound. At the time I thought maybe I'd ordered a 4 output unit, but now checking the specs it says it has 6. (If there's a Crutchfield tech person reading this, I'd love advice on how to get them going). Much better sound than the stock radio and way improved input features.

Pros: looks really sleek with the elantra dash - blacks match - excellent - looks like it came with the car. Great deal on Refurbished.

Cons: I'll have to do more research to figure out how to get the 2 small component speakers working. And take the dash apart again.

Hands free built-in microphone is worthless. It has no option to plug in a microphone to get closer to the driver. It is next to impossible to disconnect the unit from your phone when you realize the other party cannot understand a word you are saying. The menus for everything are not intuitive and you can wreck your car trying to find anything on an ipod using this unit's menu.

    Pros: Sound is good.

    Cons: Everything else.

Bought this head unit for my little brother's 2005 Dakota with Infinity. Got him all the bells and whistles to be able to use his steering wheel controls and to keep the built in amp. The PAC unit for the SWCs has an issue working completely with a very few 2005 Dakotas with Infinity... Go figure, my brother has one of those Dakotas... Long and short, the SWC worked, but the unit would not turn on the amp. The tech staff helped me to to trouble shoot the issue, sent me a new PAC unit, and then made arrangements to have a different SWC unit sent out with a new cable harness to bypass the amp that came with the truck, once I talked my little bro down from the "no amp" ledge. The radio works great, and sounds great, even with the stock Infinity speakers. I've bought from Crutchfield in the past, and I will definitely buy from Crutchfield again in the future. Thank you, once again. You folks ROCK!

Pros: * Easy install with all the special Crutchfield goodies. * Über smart and helpful tech staff.

    Cons: None

Sounds great, great features for the money............everything into one good bundel. Only one problem.....My wife has a little sports car........and the sound proofing is not part of a sports car.....it's not a Lexus, or a Lincoln, it's a sports cars. Needless to say, at speed, there is alot of engine noise, and road noise.......so the Bluetooth hands free calling feature, that has a mic built into the stereo, picks up too much road noise. The call quality coming in over the speakers was great, but on the other end, too much road noise.

    Pros: Everything!

Cons: Built in mic for hands free calling is not for alot of road noise, make sure that your car is nice and quiet......

The Kenwood KDC-BT752HD is just as described. It does what I expected it to do, sound awsome. By the way I used the RCA amp outs to connect with the alpine MRP-F300 amp and then to the Alpine component speakers in the front and Alpine 2 ways in the rear doors. I spoke with 2 different Chrutchfield advisors who both had good ideas and reccomendations. I am able to use my 5 gig memory stick in the USB slot. My samsung tablet I use the 3.5mm stereo plug. My Samsung phone I can make hands free calls thru Bluetooth connection. Only negative so far is my phone does not always auto connect. It waits for me to press "ok to connect to unknown device" even though the phone states the device being the Kenwood KDC-BT752HD which it is already been linked to. That seems to be a problem with the phone not the reciever.

Pros: Features galore and the lightshow is cool.

Cons: The phone thing and the learning curve. This thing does a lot with a few buttons and knobs.

Easy to install. Every detail works as listed. Does not cut out when in hd mode like 3 other older model hd units owned in the past. You can adjust color scheme to match interior. The HD secondary HD channels can even be preset. Very happy with purchase.

Installed in my son's 2003 Legacy coupe. Great detailed instructions from the Crutchfield team as usual. First off the BT752HD unit is not done justice by the photos the colors (24 of them I believe) have a lot of visual pop to them and add a lot of wow factor to the appearance. The Kenwood andriod app works great, pairing with the phone was simple and the headunit gives you total PANDORA functionality with the BT connection. Also streams from Google Play account, will read the artist and track info while playing from Google and will even let you track forward and back, I dont believe it will let you change playlists on GP though have to do that from phone but still a plus that it will stream anything from your phone. Audio quality from USB thumbdrive, BT connection, or from CD were all excellent. I am a fan of Alpine units but I am considering replacing my aging CD player in my truck with this one. Havent tried the ipod connection or phone calls through unit yet, although I do understand that this unit does not have a built in mic and you have to use your phone as the mic source. Important note about the SUB OUTPUT WHILE IN BT MODE: For some reason the unit is set to only play with the front speakers as a default setting. You have to enter Bluetooth settings, then Detailed Settings, then BT audio settings(this is labeled slightly differently but I dont rem the exact wording), and switch that setting from front to all, after that subs and rears will work great.

Pros: Android BT and full Pandora functionality from Android BT. Versatility, will play just about any medium available right now. Vibrant colors and appearance. Comes with a remote. Has a HD radio (a lot more channels brought in), A lot of sound shaping options at your fingertips. Very good price for so many features. 3 preouts including a sub preout, you may not need it now but if you want to expand your system you will.

Cons: No built in microphone, for true hands free calling. No other negatives yet.

I ordered this unit because it had everything I wanted and it has not been a disappointment on any level. The BT works great without an external mic to install. Having the HD was a big factor for me and I absolutely love it. The only feature or lack thereof that I find annoying is that the time is not displayed in all modes at all times. The install was my first and even I had it wired and installed within an hour and a half.

Pros: HD, BT, AUX inputs and it just looks great to boot.

Cons: Clock not always on display.

This stereo has an amazing sound! I really like the bluetooth feature because it makes answering calls so much easier than digging my phone out of my pocket while i'm driving. And the description does say that the unit will automatically reply to text messages with "I am driving". The only problem with that is that the phone sends the message to a random number in the phonebook. Another bluetooth issue is that your subs won't work when you are streaming bluetooth. If you have a headphone jack on your device, you can run it through the AUX input to use your subs. Besides that, the radio is great, and I couldn't have asked for a better radio for the price.

Pros: Incredible sound, ease of use, adjustable color setting to suit your taste, and bluetooth handsfree function.

Cons: Automatic reply to text messages sent to random numbers.

It does take it a while to download the phone book and SMS messages when it connects to the phone, but considering how much data it's downloading, that's to be expected. It will even receive incoming calls before it's done downloading, so I don't think it's a problem, at least not for me. It does take about an hour to get everything set up to your taste, but that's a one time deal, and it helps get you familiar with the controls so you can focus on driving when you take it out for a test drive. :) I did hit a small snag while installing it, but even at 7:30 PM Mountain time on a Friday evening, tech support was available to answer my question. With customer service like that, how can you go wrong? Total installation time, including calling tech support for a Ford F150 was an hour and twenty minutes. The installation instrucions were spot on, and everything fit perfectly. I haven't found anything I don't like about the unit yet, and don't really expect to. My last vehicle had a Kenwood in it, and I loved it. That's why I decided I was going to get a Kenwood again. I love the unit, and my wife wants me to get one for her car. I would definitely recommend this unit to anyone who asked me for my opinion.

Pros: Packed with features Sounds great Hands free calling is awesome 3 different ways to play MP3s from my smartphone Can change most control colors to match dash lights

Cons: Can't change the color of the text display to match the color of the rest of the unit.

    Works great!

Easy installation with Crutchfield's wiring harness. Looks like a good unit, BUT does not support Sirius XM radio. You need to get the BT852 or BT952 for this function.

Everything about this unit is fine and as advertised, except the equalizer. There are only three settings: bass, mid, treble, which is typically sufficient to get good sound. However, the bass setting includes much of what should be considered midrange, so when you turn up the bass it sounds muddy. Turning down the midrange does not correct this as it only diminishes the vocals. The bass lacks punch and peaks at too high of a frequency, and there is no adjustment combination I can find between this headunit and the controls on my amplifier that makes it even acceptable. I have tried adjusting gain, crossover, and bass boost on my amplifier, along with all combinations of bass, mid, treble, bass boost, and loudness on this deck. I have very good JBL speakers pushed by a JBL amplifier, and my previous headunit did not have this problem so I am sure it is with this unit. I do not recommend this product unless you already have, or are planning on using a graphic equalizer. Perhaps Kenwood assumes those who buy this unit will also be using a subwoofer. Since I do not have a sub, I cannot comment on the bass fidelity from the subwoofer output.

    Pros: Many features, seems solid.

Cons: The equalizer and bass fidelity completely ruins this unit for me.

I bought this in March 2012, and I have been very happy with it since. I replaced a Panasonic unit with 8 disc changer that I had in my truck for about 10 years. I primarily use the unit to listen to MP3s via the USB port since I have converted my entire CD collection to MP3s. Now I buy new music through MP3. I listen to the radio or a CD rarely. The front USB port is not a problem since I found the SanDisk Cruzer Fit USB drives. These drives are the size of a dime and don't stick out very far from the front of the radio face. The playback of MP3s is exactly what I would expect from a digital music player. The folders and songs are sorted alphanumerically. (Some car receivers don't do this!) There are 'random all' and 'random inside a folder' features. (Some car receivers don't have the 'random all' feature!) Text scroll for song info is good. The folder-browsing feature is intuitive. I did have a limitation with the maximum number of folders allowed (255). So I reorganized my MP3 album collection to have one folder per artist. Sometimes a folder is not recognized by the receiver, but recopying the folder onto the USB drive again seems to fix this problem. The bluetooth hands free works well. Sometimes the download of the contact list from my phone gets hung, and I have to turn the radio off then back on. The bluetooth music playback is OK. The sound quality is lacking. I really like the 'volume offset' feature for the different sources.

Pros: MP3 player interface. Volume offset for each source. Three band EQ. Subwoofer volume adjust. High-pass filter for speakers. Low-pass filter for sub. So many settings, that you can set it just the way you like it.

Cons: Automatic download of contact list from cell phone. Download of contacts hangs. Contact list not saved, so the download happens every time the phone syncs.

Used to buy cheap car audio, last one had a lousy AM reception among other issues. I decided to step up and buy a little higher end unit, in this case up to 179 and I'm glad I did. Reception in all bands is excellent, pulls in stations better than any other I've seen. Many other features help too, the output is so clean I get great sound in al ranges from old (1990) speakers in a RV. I was amazed, even bass is really good and clean. Remote is easy to use (some aren't) and I went nuts and got 3 of these so no matter what I drive I've got the same radio, another problem I had.

Pros: Love these universal DIN 1 chassis and slide in brackets, make it all very easy.

Pros: Cost comparison compared to other HU's with the same features was excellent.

Its great when it works. Getting it to work consistently on a daily basis, nearly impossible. I've had this unit for three months now and would love to get rid of it. When it works it's fantastic, love listening to Pandora commercial free, hands free calling, stream music from my phone (Samsung Galaxy S II). But getting it to connect to my phone through BT is a pain!! sometimes it connects fine, others it connects part way. For instance It'll connect to Pandora and will control it but the music still plays on the phone and not the head unit. Other times it doesn't connect at all. I select Pandora and it'll say, "Check Device". When I do it'll say, "Pandora / Accessory". Nothing you can do to change it but restart BT then if your lucky you might get the "Pandora / Kenwood". SMS. OMG!!! NEVER WORKS!!! It'll notify me that I've received a new SMS message, then ALWAYS displays the wrong person!!! For instance, I get a text from "John Smith". The head unit will display "Fred Jones"!! Not even close!! Like if that's not annoying enough, at first it's set up to to reply automatically with "I'm Driving.". So when I'd get a text from John Smith, Fred Jones would get a text from me saying, "I'm Driving". Downloading. Apparently it'll download your phone book or something. This apparently is set to do so automatically every time you connect. EVERYTIME. Turn off to get gas, and it downloads it all again. takes several minutes.

Pros: Not bad when it works.

Cons: Getting it to connect consistently. Bad SMS. Constantly "downloading". too many and confusing menus. When you lose BT connection it displays "HF DISCONT". HF?!?! what the heck is that?!?! It couldn't just say, "BT DISCONT"? No off button or setting. You can change the color of the light around the buttons but not the display its self. Wouldn't buy another one. If it was possible I'd send it back.

I really wanted to like this radio. It had everything that I was looking for: An aux plug, a USB port to charge my phone, connection to pandora for Android, and bluetooth for phonecalls. The bluetooth audio for playing music from my phone works great. The HD radio is nice, although not every radio station I listen to is HD, so it really isn't necessary. The aux plug works as expected. The sound quality is good through my OEM speakers. The CD player plays the MP3 discs, and you can pause it with the far right button, but when you turn off the car and restart it later, it will come on automatically. If you put it in Standby instead of turning it all the way off, you can still see the clock and receive phonecalls if they come. I ultimately ended up returning this because my mom could not hear me on the other end when trying to talk through the bluetooth. The pandora only worked part of the time on my Samsung Galaxy S3, but I could bypass that function and listen to pandora via bluetooth or aux. Also, when I was trying to charge my phone, the radio kept thinking I was trying to connect to the phone, and wouldn't allow me to use any other function, and it also wouldn't connect, but every android is different. When moving through different functions, there's a loud beep through the speakers - kind of annoying. You can put the radio into "standby" mode Returning on the site is really easy, and I ordered the Alpine, and I've been happy so far.

Pros: Bluetooth audio connection great for music

Cons: Bluetooth microphone difficult to hear on other end, loud beep between functions, pandora only sometimes connects

I really wanted to like this stereo and in truth, it's not the stereo that is the problem. This unit has a ton of features, but the controls are not very intuitive. I kept finding myself going back to the owner's manual to figure out what one feature or another was, or how to access them. For example, you can control your iPod through the stereo, but I was unable to figure out how to do more than skip forward and back through the songs. How do you switch to a different artist? I'm sure this unit does it, but I couldn't figure it out without the manual. The real deal breaker was the Bluetooth though. As others have mentioned, it takes a good 15-20 seconds for it to sync with your phone. That makes it inconvenient as you can't place a call immediately as you get in the car. I'm returning the unit, however, because it has no external mic and, even after adjusting the gain every way I could think of, the people I talked to on the phone simply could not hear me over the interference from typical road noise.

Pros: Easy to install, HD radio works great. TONS of cool features.

Cons: Bluetooth takes too long to sync with your phone. No external mic - could not make phone calls due to road noise and there was no way to fix it. Controls not all that intuitive.

I am very pleased with the Kenwood KDC-BT752HD. I purchased this unit as a replacement to the factory head unit, mainly to provide additional functionality such as blue Tooth phone and audio integration. The fact that it controls Pandora through your moblie device is a bonus. The sound quality out of the external mic is perfect. The head unit looks great, the install was perfect, and as always Crutchfield staff are knowledgable, friendly and ever helpful.

I love it, simply put. Sound quality is great, as good as my factory hi performance unit. The different EQ settings will satisfy any listening taste, great bass and crisp trebles. The bluetooth works flawlessly with my Blackberry. Had a slight muffled tone during calls which was easily fixed by tweaking the mic settings. Pandora through bluetooth is awesome, being able to control it on the head unit is so cool. HD radio is terrific, I listen to local talk radio which is available via HD, so much better than AM radio signal. Installed this in about 30 minutes in my Ford Explorer, Crutchfields install sheet and the accessories made it a breeze. I did have one question/issue with wiring, called tech support and they were awesome. It is so nice to get help from someone that a: speaks english, b: is not in a hurry, c: is an expert in his field. Truely, the best tech support I have ever encountered in my 50 years! Setup of the system is fairly easy, it just takes time to get everything set to your tastes. It took me about an hour of fiddling to get everything done to my liking. I did see that some didnt like the display brightness, clock ect.., if you just take some time all these things can be set your way, a little reading and some paitence go a long way :-) As a bonus, the tweaking really gets you comfortable with the different controls. This is a great deal for the money, I really shopped around and it's nice to get all the bells and whistles in a quality unit for this pric

Bought this to replace the factory unit in a 2000 4Runner and it is amazing. Sound quality is fantastic even with the factory speakers. The bluetooth automatically connects and starts Pandora on my phone without any button pushing on my part. It does take a few seconds to connect to bluetooth, but if that is an issue that you just can't live with, skip the bluetooth and connect to either the Auxiliary or USB connections on the face for your listening pleasure, and use the bluetooth for calls. Speaking of calls, the built-in mic was a sticking point for me as I didn't want to run any additional wires, drill any holes, pop off extra fascia, and I couldn't be happier with the quality of this mic. Sat in the back seat of the SUV and spoke to my wife clearly through the unit. Overall, this unit does everything that is was advertised to do and definitely steps up the music quality in my vehicle. I would recommend this unit to anyone that wants to upgrade almost a metric ton of features but doesn't have a ton of cash or space in their vehicle.

Pros: Bluetooth call quality and built-in mic are great. Sound quality is eons ahead of the factory unit, and steps ahead of previous aftermarket units I have purchased/installed. Ability to stream Pandora from Android through Bluetooth Ability to stream saved audio through Bluetooth Outputs are plentiful for additional amp/speakers in the future HD Radio has tuning customization and provides clear listening with scrolling song/station data (when available from station)

Cons: None for me, things others might want to be aware of: Bluetooth is not an instant connect So many options for music playback means about 10 button pushes to get through the list (i.e. CD, HD Radio, Bluetooth, Pandora, USB, etc.)

The BT752HD appealed to me because it had a built-in HD radio tuner, front USB port, and Bluetooth 3.0 capabilities. Most receivers with Bluetooth hands-free calling are only Bluetooth 2.0, which means there's no voice recognition capability with your smartphone. They essentially require you to either navigate an absurdly crude menu system to dial out, or to use antiquated voice tagging. A good example of this is GM's OnStar/Bluetooth system up to around 2010. With the BT752HD and my Samsung Galaxy S3, I can hold down the Volume knob and activate the Galaxy S3's S-Voice which is the Samsung version of Siri. I can ask it if I need an umbrella for today, or to call a friend. It even works with Google's nicknames! So if I assign the nickname "Angie" to my friend in Google Contacts, I can say "Call Angie" via S-Voice through the BT752HD, and the Galaxy would play back the request, "Calling (Angie's real name)" and dial out! Bottom line is that the Bluetooth 3.0 capability of the BT752HD puts it ahead of many OEM handsfree systems. The other appealing aspect of the BT752HD is the integrated microphone. I don't have to route an ungainly external microphone. It is integrated into the front of the receiver, much like the Clarion CX501 I recently installed in my Mustang. Although the integrated microphone seems to get a bad reputation on online reviews, I found that adjusting the microphone gain, noise reduction, and echo cancellation is mandatory to get the best sound.

Pros: Integrated mic, Bluetooth 3.0, HD Radio, front USB

Cons: Bluetooth connection takes 15-30 seconds, must press "6" to play Bluetooth audio after starting the car. The Clarion CX501 Bluetooth connects much faster and defaults to playing Bluetooth audio when turned on.

Everything works as good if not better than I expected. An added bonus was HD radio. I had never listened to HD radio before and tuning into it for the first time with this unit was awesome. I am a huge fan now. Anyone who says they can't hear the difference needs to get their ears checked. This radio sound great with my stock speakers. I installed in a 1999 Dodge Ram PU with the included adapter plate for my vehicle. The install took me about an hour, so it was a piece of cake using the supplied factor harness adapters. Doesn't get much easier than this. After install, I had it connected up to my iPhone via Bluetooth and was able to make calls on it. I am also able to stream music from my iPhone to it over Bluetooth. How awesome is that!! HD radio works great as well. I now get artist and song titles scrolling on the display while listening to HD radio stations. I am not using Shazam as much because of this. Sound quality is great!

Pros: Bluetooth, HD radio, and good power for a head unit. The 22W RMS is what set it apart from many others. Many claim to have peak power of 50W, but most only had less than 20W RMS. Some as low as 8W.

Cons: The only con I have was on the install instructions, in particular on the ground wire connection. The instructions overall were great, but I could not find the ground connection they referred to. Instead of hunting for it, I just made my own connection by drilling a screw into a metal chassis component that sat behind the radio. Drilled a small hole and used a self-tapping screw. Worked great!

The sound is great, the features are fantastic, and it's fairly easy to use. The problem I have is with Bluetooth calling. People on the other end had a hard time hearing me through the road noise, even sitting with the engine running at idle compared to engine off people could hear a difference. There is not an external microphone or a capability for one which surprised me. My friend has the 852 which has the external microphone and it works perfect. Also the display is a little lacking with only one line of text it's a bit difficult to navigate lots of songs. No display dimmer input and the menu to change brightness is not so easy to get to.

Finally broke down and changed the OEM radio out of my 2000 Corvette. I thought was going to have an issue with the Bose System and installation. This radio is so easy to install and Crutchfield's customer service is top notch! Love the bluetooth, and the fact that you can control Pandora directly from the radio. My EVO connected to the radio instantly. Only con I have is it takes some time to connect the radio to Pandora directly. The app feature for Kenwood is pretty neat too. Takes a bit to adjust the sound but in the end its worth it

Pros: Bluetooth, ease of installation, looks, value

Cons: Pandora takes too long to connect. Hand free phone call quality

I liked this radio so much I bought two and replaced the one in my RV also. It integrates with my Garmin Zumo 665 GPS perfectly and allows consolidated GPS, MP3, Sirius/XM and phone through the dash controls. The sound is quite good. It has integrated all of the devices in the vehicle as well as our phones. Installation is easy. Pretty easy to get the hang of once you play with it a little bit. Light years ahead of the stock stereo it replaced.

Pros: HD Radio, Excellent sound using AUX, Bluetooth for power or integration with phones, MP3 players, etc. Cool slowly alternating colored controls.

Cons: The Bluetooth audio quality isn't that great. but the aux connection is primo

The sound quality seems better than my OEM stereo. The bluetooth audio works extremely well with my Iphone 4s. The only complaint that I have is that the bluetooth hands-free phone function is terrible. I have tried adjusting the microphone gain, echo reduction and noise reduction, and it provides terrible sound quality to the person who I am talking to. The receiving sound is better, but still not as good as I was expecting.

Pros: Bluetooth audio, Digital HD Radio

Just got it last night was very simple to install in my civic. Very user friendly menu setup and keys. This is my first Kenwood unit and i can say i am very impressed. The bluetooth is supercool and very crisp. Purchased speakers at the same time but kinda though to determind if its the radio or the speakers but the sound could be a little better. I will probably be trying another set of speakers to see. Overall very pleased with this unit and was a major upgrade for my old civic lol.

Pros: Bluetooth, usb slot infront, user friendly, Color display can change!!,

Cons: No ATT button on the face only remote, face plate feels kinda cheap and could break easily

This was one of my last choices and I'm glad I went with it. The features on this are great! Built -in Bluetooth mic, great audio setting options, EQ makes my factory speakers sound great, and USB/AUX options do exactly what my factory did not. I love the color change on it at night. The menus can be a bit tricky to run through, but are clear to read. I do not know why, but on the display settings, I can only choose one thing. I wish I could display the clock and the Artist/Song scrolling at the same time. Also, sometimes the scrolling feature doesn't work on certain stations even though they are outputting that info (wife's car displays it).

Pros: For the price, it will do exactly what you want/need. Audio quality is great. Tons of features and value.

Cons: No option to display clock and Artist/Song at same time. Sometimes, this feature does not work on certain stations. Menus can be tricky for less tech savy.

Purchased this for a 2007 Cadillac SRX due to the stock radio/cd changer having died. I wanted something with hands free calling and excellent sound quality. Sound quality was average, not any better than the stock radio, possibly worse. Takes a little over a minute to link with iPhone 4s via blue tooth for calls and audio streaming. Display is hard to read when in bright daylight and almost a little too bright when driving at night. Display does not dim with car's interior light dimmer, but rather has to be dimmed separately through radio's controls and menus. Sound quality when receiving calls is adequate, but the party on the other side cannot understand what is being said. I tried adjusting the microphone gain and noise reduction, but nothing really helped. I think this is due the microphone being integrated the head unit's face. I am returning it because of this.

Pros: Good feature set...ipod, HD radio, and pandora control

Cons: Very poor call quality. Mediocre sound quality of music. Buttons on face are very small, easy to press the wrong one.

Needed a replacement for the factory radio in the wifes ride, as that radio was starting to have problems. Have had good experiences with Kenwood radios in the past, so thought I would take another chance and have not been dissapointed so far. She likes the ability of the hands free phone system, and the sound quality of the factory speakers have impresed her as well as myself. The bluetooth function of the phone was the main reason for this purchase, and so far it has worked great with her old iPhone 3Gs. Hopefully will have the same results when the new iPhone comes out this fall. I was skeptical about the microphone in the face plate of this unit, but it works great. The quality of the phone calls are nice and clear, and with out feedback (after making adjustments in the menu settings). Also liked the preset buttons on this unit for the stations and when using the phone so you don't have to go through the phonebook to find the numbers you call the most. This unit seemed to have all the things I was looking for to make the wifes driving experience pleasurable and safer. She's happy with it so far, and thats what matters most.

Pros: Price, Hands free function for phone, Sound Quality (with factory speakers), Better than an OEM replacement.

Cons: None that I have come across so far!

I was hesitant to buy an HD receiver, but glad I did. There are numerous digital channels with excellent reception(around Tampa, FL). It's a bit hard to judge the sound quality because my speakers are fairly low-end, but there is definitely an improvement over analog FM. The Bluetooth functionality was a primary reason I choose this model. Once set up, it automatically connects when I get in the car with my Android phone. It works well for both calls and music. For some reason, by default, the sound coming from a Bluetooth device only goes to the front speakers, but that can be changed in the one of the unit menus.

I bought this unit with the hope of listening to Pandora through a Blue Tooth connection. Sometimes it takes 5 or 6 miles of driving before it Pairs, and god forbid if you are running errands, you may get done them all before the connection is made. To top that lousy performance, every 2-3 days I get an error 68 and cannot pair up at all anymore. The manual then tells you to press the reset button. All programming is lost, now i need to reset all the presets and EQ settings as well as set the color of the display.

Pros: Bluetooth connection of Pandora on Android

Cons: I wasted my money on a feature that is plagued with BUGS. It would have been way easier just to use an Aux input. Probably cheaper too. Also the display has WAY too many small buttons and the display won't tell you both the time and what is on at the same time.

Very good looking radio. Packed with features. Going in a teenagers car, so the BT was a must. Sounds great right out of the box, but has so many features that it takes a while to set up and check everything that's included. HD tuner picks up distant stations that we can't get on other radios in this area.

Pros: Great sound. Great reception. BT sounds better than other factory built in BT units I've seen (clear, even over the diesel noise). Packed with features.

Cons: Takes a little more set up time, and hard to remember where everything is (but that will get easier with time). Don't really mind it, but had to put something.

I just got this unit yesterday evening and installed it this afternoon. Got some wiring advice for Crutchfield's support center (Excellent I might add) on wiring for my 1993 GMC Jimmy. It works like a charm. Bluetooth, HD, iPhone Music Streaming, everything so far. It will take me several weeks to test out all the features, but so far it's fantastic. I didn't replace my 19 year old speakers (which sounded awful with my OEM radio) but sound unbelievable with my new head unit. Maybe some day I'll replace them, but not today! Not sure I could be happier with Crutchfield's packaging, shipping and support. My hat is off to them... very professional group

    Cons: None so far.

Everything seems nice on this unit, but it doesn't tune to fm 87.7. The best and only alternative station in Chicago and the tuner doesn't even go that far. I am returning the unit because of this lazyness/cost cutting on the part of Kenwood. I pay this much for this unit and it won't even tune the same stations at my stock radio. >:( PS the wiring and install kit Crutchfied included was AWESOME. Really a simple installation. Five minutes reviewing the wiring instx. in the manual, ten with a soldering iron, heat gun and heat-shrink tubing - and the unit was ready to slip in the dash. Plugged right in with the supplied antenna and harness adapters. Sound and feature-wise it's a huge improvement over the factory unit - making it more than worthwhiles giving-up the clunky nav function - but the black face and chrome buttons look like hell in the all-brushed-chrome center stack. At least I was able to closely match the dash instrument backlighting color with one of the many colors available for the radio backlighting. That's a nice feature. If I ever decide to show this car, however, the factory radio's going back in...

Pros: Tremendous value. Didn't expect the bluetooth audio function to work with my iPhone. Imagine my surprise when Pandora kept-on playing after I unplugged the USB cable! Every other feature imaginable, although using voice dialing can be hit or miss. Once you're talking, though, the in-unit microphone does a good job (there may be a way to boost its gain), even in this roadster with its thin top up. I haven't tried it with the top down, though.

Cons: If I live to be 100 I'll never figure out - or at least remember - how to use all the features the system has to offer. I'm sure there was a back-scratcher and massage function included, but I can't remember how to get 'em going!

I was looking for a great radio for my truck. Was not really looking for blue-tooth but wanted MP3 and HD radio. For the price, I could not resist this radio. Blue-tooth is awesome and easy to pair up. Pandora app use is great for an alternative to an MP3 disc with roughly 100-150 songs on one disc. After reading so many great reviews I thought surely this would be the unit for me. After two months I am returning it. The #1 most important feature to me was Bluetooth connectivity, and this one failed big time. Every 10 - 14 days I would get HF Error 68 and the Bluetooth pairing would be disabled permanently. I would have to factory reset the unit in order to get the Bluetooth to work again, but only for a short time. After two months the Bluetooth has quit working completely.

This unit took 4 hours for my wife and me, both technically competent, to install in our 2005 Boston Acoustic equipped Cherokee and was definitely worth the effort. If you don't like messin' with wires and interface adapters then hire a Geek to do it. The sound quality of this unit is excellent and all audio input sources (BlueTooth, USB, CD and HD radio) work as advertised. I have not yet tried the Pandora feature. I was a bit concerned about the fit and appearance prior to installation but now that it's finished am quite satisfied with that as well.

Pros: 1) The setups are intuitive, requiring only occasional reference to the owner's manual. 2) I was able to retain most of my vehicle's factory system options such as steering wheel controls and the Boston Acoustics Amplifier. 3) The audio quality is greatly improved over the factory RAQ multi-disc audio system.

Cons: 1) The installation instructions for the steering wheel interface and CAN bus adapter are a bit confusing and required re-reading several times to get it almost right. Thanks to Lefty at Crutchfield's tech support for quickly straightening out the last detail for me. 2) In order to retain factory Boston Acoustic amplifier you must forfeit front /rear fader function. Not the receiver's fault!

With advice from Crutchfield, I replaced my previous radio the XHD7714 with this Kenwood. The old XHD radio was OK, it had all the features I needed but that display was unreadable except when in the dead of night. The new Kenwood installed easily,.the configuration was easy. The only problem I encountered is the Pandora feature. It just wasn't there! Looking at the fine print in the manual I found the Kenwood web site where there was a firmware update specifically noting a fix for Pandora. So after burning a CD (can't use the USB).updating from 3.00 to 3.01, it looks as if Pandora is working.

Pros: Good sound. Attractive. Display is readable in al but direct bright sunlight.

Cons: Manual a bit confusing. Pandora didn't work until I found that a firmware update was needed. This was not obvious; I found the info at Kenwood's web site. Update a bit of a problem but I got through it OK.

I bought LEDs and replaced all internal lights with a specific bright blue, and I purchased this unit. The color change option is amazing to match the interior of your car. It looks like part of the team. I'm very happy with this unit. The sound quality is the main thing. Bright, punchy with crisp lows makes this unit a complete package. I'm happy with it.

Pros: HD radio, A2dp, Pandora, Usb/cd mp3, Color change, Android support, removable face, highly expandable...

Cons: No option to disable beeps, no att button on face, remote is ugly, Bluetooth fails to connect periodically, Pandora sometimes causes phone app to crash, when unit Paris with phone sometimes an indefinite "downloading" is displayed on unit display and only goes away by disconnecting Bluetooth, difficult to navigate setup menu while driving.

    Very happy

I really like this stereo and its features. I am still learning how to use it. I dislike the USB Ipod connector is in the front and none in the rear to keep the ipod connected and hidden out of sight of thieves. I hate to have to unplug it every time I park.

Pros: It has great features for the price...HD Radio and Blue Tooth without an additional external mic

Cons: I hate that the USB for the Ipod connector is in the front instead of the rear. If it had another in the rear, it would be better. Can't dimm the lights/display buttons

Skip the Bluetooth for phone, a better option available!
