Sonos® Wireless Dock 100 Reviews
Average Customer Review:
Great but not Perfect....
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
This is a great addition to my Sonos system (14 zones). I don't use it much myself as all my recorded music is on a NAS, but it is great for guests, giving them a chance to 'plug in' their music and share it with others. The only negative (as mentioned before) is that a number of the older ipods are not compatible with the dock. However, the newer ones including the 'touch' and iphone work great and give you access to all the music anywhere in your system. A nice addition to your Sonos System.
Good for most i-pods....but be careful.
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
Sonos is amazing and this product fits all the typical criteria you would expect from them. It is good looking, a breeze to set up and easy to use.
The good: The dock allows access to all the music on an i-pod/phone device while sitting in another room. What is great is that from any Sonos controller you can access all the content including playlists. The sound quality is also very good. A great application would be when friends show up at a party and want to play some music that you might not have. They simply drop their i-pod/phone into the device and you have access immediately.
The bad: This device is not compatible with older ipods. I have several older devices and they do not work. When I saw "supports I-pod classic", I figured mine must be a classic. This is not the case. When I went to the Sonos site, I found that there are many versions that are not supported. Check their site for compatibility.
The scary: I am not saying that it is the fault of the Sonos device but within a week of owning the dock, two non-supported Sonos i-pods, died completely after interfacing with the unit. One while in the cradle. Sonos tech support, which is great, could not see how the dock could have done this. I'm sure they tested everything thoroughly but the coincidence seems fishy.

You can wirelessly play all the music that's stored or playing (including many music apps) on your iPod or iPhone in all the rooms of your home or office where you have Sonos.
Note: At least one Sonos player (Connect, Connect:Amp, Play:3 or Play:5) must be set up before the Sonos Dock can be added to your music system. If a software update is available, be sure to update your Sonos system before adding the Dock.
SonosNet 2.0 Wireless Mesh Network Technology: SonosNet 2.0 is a secure AES encrypted, peer-to-peer wireless mesh network. High Fidelity Audio: The Sonos Dock directly accesses the digital music stored on your iPhone or iPod and sends it wirelessly to Sonos players all throughout your home. The Dock delivers the highest fidelity audio quality by playing the digital music stored on your iPod or iPhone without ever converting it to analog like most conventional iPod/iPhone docks. |iPod/iPhone Model||Generation||Media Type||Control Type||Display Type||Charge|
|Audio||Video Out||CR200 Controller (optional)||iPod/iPad||Song/Artist Info||Track Info|
Note: Apple iPod/iPhone software updates may change functionality results. If you download a newer software version, you may need to reset the device and your iPod/iPhone to regain functionality. If this doesn't work, you may need to revert to the older software version or wait until a newer software update is available.
Music Playback: The Sonos Dock will play music stored or playing on an iPod or iPhone, including many music apps.
Autoplay Mode: You can dock your iPod or iPhone and the music that's been playing automatically starts playing on your Sonos system. Multi-Room Playback: You can wirelessly play the same song from a docked iPod or iPhone in every room of the house through your Sonos system, perfectly synchronized.
Flexible Music Control: You can browse and select the music from either your docked iPod/iPhone or any Sonos Controller (sold separately).
