Enjoy music from your computer and the Internet on any audio system

Play music from your PC and the Internet with the Sonos® CONNECT. This tiny player works with almost any existing audio system — hook it up to a receiver or powered speaker system in any room of your home. The CONNECT uses your existing Wi-Fi® network to connect to the Internet. Or, you can connect it to your network router, and Sonos will create its own dedicated wireless network for even better performance. If your router is in another room, pick up the optional Sonos BOOST to make this connection. Either way, you'll be ready to start enjoying music within minutes.

Small player fits almost anywhere

The CONNECT's footprint is remarkably compact — less than 5-1/2" square. Analog and digital audio outputs make it compatible with just about any audio/video receiver or shelf system.

Sonos controllers

You probably already own a Sonos controller

You can use an iPhone®, iPod touch®, iPad®, or Android™ phone to control any and all Sonos players. A free download turns your smartphone and tablet into a full-fledged Sonos controller. Easily navigate and search through playlists and tracks stored on your computer, or select an Internet radio station. Create customized playlists on the fly for individual rooms or for playback over your entire Sonos system. You can also mute or adjust the volume of each of your players.

Rhapsody®, Pandora® Internet radio, SiriusXM, and more at your fingertips

The Sonos system works seamlessly with a host of Internet-based digital music services, including Rhapsody, Pandora, Spotify, Napster®, and SiriusXM Internet Radio. Rhapsody offers instant access to millions of songs and ad-free radio stations through your Sonos Controller. Sirius Internet Radio gives you access to over 80 channels of programming. Every Sonos system includes free 30-day trials of these two services, so you can start listening the moment you take it out of the box. Pandora creates customized Internet radio streams just for you — all you have to do is enter the name of your favorite song or artist. And because Sonos connects directly to the Internet for all of these music services, you don't even have to turn on your PC.

Play music stored on your iPhone®, iPad®, or iPod touch®

Sonos now gives you convenient wireless access to music and podcasts stored in the Music app of iOS devices, for playback throughout your entire Sonos system. This function works on devices running iOS6 or later (see below for full list of compatible Apple devices). The system even lets you connect multiple Apple players at once. For instance, you can queue up songs from your iPhone to play in the kitchen while you cook, and your spouse can stream a podcast in the den at the same time.

Not designed for stereo to speaker

Written By TomK, Maryland on Friday, July 24, 2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is a great product if you want to have music from the various sources like Pandora, etc. throughout your house. It is not really for sending music from you receiver attached devices like a CD player to the remote speakers. It required a level of complexity it was not simply playing a CD.

Pros: Quality product, seems well made, works well for designed purpose

Cons: Not really for sending music from a receiver to remote speakers

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great product that's easy to set up and use. I have a number of PLAY series, bu this is my first CONNECT. I use it to drive my back yard speakers through an Onkyo amp. The A set is in the eaves of the house and the B set is by the outdoor kitchen. I even buried a passive sub with the second set and the sound is great!

Pros: Easy to use

Cons: Price

The Sonos products are great. I have them in several rooms of our house.

Cons: * A bit more expensive then other players.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I had to replace a Whole house sound system Amplifier/controller which died after four years!!! Replacement meant buying a new unit and paying a dealer to install and program it. The Sonos product was able to replace the whole system for a few dollars more for the hardware. The programming and set up were a snap. Sonos leads you thru the set up. I was able to connect the Music Server to the Sonos connect and the Home Theater receiver/Amp video receiver to the Sonos connect Amp. Between the music service apps, music on our computers, Music server, Smart TV, Satellite TV and the Home Theater receiver/Amp we have more music choices that ever.

Pros: Easy to install and program. Lots of music choices.

Cons: If any, Cost.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I've been using the Sonos Connect for about a week and have been extremely impressed. I hooked it up to the digital audio converter that's connected to my amplifier, both of which are in another room about 50-75 feet away from my computer. The signal is very strong and stable, much moreso than for the NAD product that I'd previously tried using in the same arrangement. Also, the software setup was very easy, taking about a minute or two.

Pros: Easy setup Strong, stable signal

Cons: None thus far

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have been more than pleased with the Sonos Connect. My intended use of the Sonos Connect was to stream music to a heritage high end (McIntosh) stereo system. My first concern was sound quality for streaming music, and my second was the flexibility of using my laptop and Iphone as remotes. My expectations were exceeded in terms of the quality of the sound. It is extremely lifelike, and a huge improvement over simply having a direct connection from the laptop or phone to the pre amp. I am using the new Tidal streaming service primarily and it seems to be a perfect match with the Sonos quality, since it streams at a much higher rate than ordinary music services. At least as good as CD quality to my ears. I should add that I had some concern as to whether the built in DAC in the Sonos was of sufficient quality. My initial impression is a resounding yes. The sound on my system is very crisp and lifelike and does not display any murkiness as noted in another review. Finally I should add that I do not use the Sonos speakers in different rooms, but rather use my heritage system in my main listening room and a Soundcast Outcast speaker as the remote portable speaker, which is fed through a line out in the Macintosh pre amp to its I Cast wireless transmitter.

Pros: Quality of the sound. Perfect companion for high quality streaming service such as Tidal. The remote functions of Sonos are great as well.

Cons: None that I can see.

great product

Written By Jon, California on Sunday, February 15, 2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This product was perfect for my needs. In fact, I liked the first so much, I bought another so that I could separately control certain zones in my house. I have an eight zone amp with wired connections to speakers in various zones in my house.

I have a very long house, so I need a wireless router and wireless access point to provide full coverage. I had some issues controlling the Sonos Connect from the access point -- the Connect would periodically just "disappear" from the network. Sonos tech support was very patient (escalated to the highest level tech), but ultimately was unable to solve my issue.

Subsequently, after swapping the location of my router and access point, the system is now stable. Now the Connect joins the network via the access point and the dhcp router is at the far end of the house. I think this works because the Connect must now continually renew its IP lease via the access point to the router. In my prior configuration, I think the Connect got "lazy," since it was connected directly to the dhcp router, at which point the access point could no longer find it ... as I told Sonos tech support, that's just my theory, but it works.

Pros: Easy to configure in simple network situation. Adding additional Connects is a breeze. Good iPad and Android app, and desktop program.

Cons: Installing in complex network configuration can be challenging. App/desktop program does not accurately index music on your NAS devices. Some of my albums/songs are not properly found by artist/composer, or genera. I have to browse my Music Library to find the applicable folder. That works if I remember I have the album, otherwise I have no easy way to find it from the app/desktop program.

I bought a Sonos BOOST and Sonos COnnect last week. We got it all connected this weekend and I am amazed at how easy the setup was. It works as explained and does just what I want it to. I am now streaming my iTunes, Pandora, and I Heart Radio thru our component stereo speakers. I love the sound quality and the flexibility and ease of use. The Sonos equipment is a wonderful investment in our existing stereo equipment and has given new life to our 40+ year old speakers which are still going strong and playing wonderful sound.

Sonos Connect

Written By MarcC, Georgia on Tuesday, January 13, 2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I am an old school audiophile with a Harmon Kardon stereo receiver, JBL bookshelf speakers, and a turntable. I am slowly entering the 21st century having put my CD collection on my IPOD and playing it through my 'stereo system'. I am a SiriusXM radio subscriber and was looking for a way to listen to SiriusXM and internet radio on my stereo. Sonos Connect is it. Connect provides the SiriusXM app connection as well as Pandora and Spotify, as well as a host of other subscription services, too many to mention. In addtion, there are lots of free internet radio stations that can also be played. Music, talk, politics, etc., are all available. There are really more that I have time to listen to but I am sure I will try most of them over time. Set up was pretty easy, not much in the way of printed instructions but the web instructions were pretty good. I set up the control app on my IPAD, which I use for control, and also on my desktop computer where my music collection is stored. I had some trouble adding the links for SiriusXM, Spotify, and Pandora from my IPAD and having them show up as available. I had to add them using the desktop and then the links showed up on the IPAD, not sure why exactly, but it worked that way. Overall, I am very pleased with Connect and have already been considering adding another Sonos speaker or two, but haven't decided yet. I would recommend it highly.

Pros: Pretty simple setup. Kinda pricey, but a better solution with more options that buying a new receiver.

Cons: Very limited printed install instructions.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

A wonderful product that allows you to utilize your own power and speakers.

Pros: Smooth and straight forward set up.

Cons: A bit pricey for what it accomplishes. Be patient with the time the set up requires - at times no feedback as to set up progress. This is really a nit pic. If you have several Sonos zones in use and an existing audio set up (powered speakers, a sub and an equalizer in my case), it is a no brainer to proceed with this purchase. Enjoy !!

Goodbye Crestron Hello Sonos

Written By Rich, New York on Wednesday, December 31, 2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Wow, what a great product. replaced an 8 zone Crestron whole house audio system with 8 - Connect boxes and two multi-zone amplifiers. It couldn't have been easier to set up. Let me say that again, it couldn't have been easier to set up. I have it on a wired network connection and the apps work great on computers, iPads and iPhones. We mostly use internet radio, Pandora and our music library. We do have a multidisk CD changer as a auxiliary input just in case. I'm so glad I made the switch.

Pros: Ease of set up Friendly interface variety of sources good fidelity

Cons: it would be nice if they made a single box with say 4 zones at a reduced price.

Great product - lousy instructions

Written By Dag, Tennessee on Sunday, December 28, 2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Once you get this thing set up, it works like a dream. If you can't figure out how to do it on your own, however, you're out of luck. The instructions are minimal and vague, even to the point of being unclear as to whether or not you hook up at "output" or "input" on the back of the speaker. Also, it is inexcusable that it only comes in white. If only one color, it should be black. That said, however, it works wonderfully well once you get it hooked up.

Pros: Quality of sound. Transmits well. No drops in quality.

Cons: Vague instructions. Ugly white box.

Great product...this is my second Connect that I have in my network. Very easy setup and operation. I really like the ability to play different audio in multiple rooms simultaneously.

Pros: Great access to multiple music sources. Very easy to use with iPad and iPhone.

Cons: None so far...except they are a bit pricey to set up several different stations.

Well designed but the high-res music clientele somewhat ignored

Written By HemiSam, TEXAS on Friday, December 12, 2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

It is a well thought out product, for the most part. Setup was easy, although they're marketing higher resolution streaming services recently as they recognize this is a growing market. Their forum is lit up with customer comments about wanting the flexibility to play higher resolution files than just mp3 quality. So they signed on Deezer Elite, which is the only reason I finally got comfortable buying the Connect. It proved difficult to set up Deezer and get it to work on the Sonos app because nowhere in the instructions did it indicate you needed to do that on your laptop vs my iPad mini or my iPhone...figured it out on my own after a while.

It's white or white...sticks out pretty good in my living room. Black would be a nice option, like on the Sonos player I purchased at the same time.

I use my Connect to pump digital files to my external DAC (digital to analog converter) and send that analog signal to an amplifier that powers good quality headphones. The Deezer Elite provides 16bit/44Hz files (think CD's ripped at their actual file size/resolution...not a compressed format where details are lost) to the Connect...what I had been waiting for. Beats is 320kbps and while that's OK, it's not great with higher quality equipment.

Anyhoo...I'm glad I purchased the Connect but I think Sonos is slow to respond to a market that is going, and when there is a flood of competition on their doorstep. The Deezer Elite option is only reason I bought a Sonos.

Pros: wireless, reliable connection, fairly user friendly graphical user interface (GUI)

Cons: few higher quality streaming options and late to that game, white or white, somewhat pricey for what you get

SONOS SO EASY

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

5 rooms of in ceiling speakers, a notebook, IPAD and Android phone with playlists, first dinner party coming up. Not a clue how to get it all together. Enter Crutchfield. Two days later we have a Niles amplifier and a Sonos Connect. End result, 4 rooms of music and music out on the patio... The SONOS Connect is absolutely great and very easy to set up

Pros: Love controlling my music from my IPAD, Notebook or Android phone. The SONOS apps lead you through the initial connection and the online help and intuitive app makes it easy to import from ITUNEs. I see some SONOS wireless speakers in our future for the master bedroom and bath. Could not be happier!

Cons: A bit expensive but I quickly got beyond that once I had my music playing in 5 areas!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I hesitated before buying the sonos system because of concerns about sound quality. Yes, the bitrate is capped, but if you have good source material, it sounds just as good as a CD. I have the Connect and play it through my stereo and for the most part, it rocks. And all the internet radio is awesome! The app controller is great, very easy to use and works with little to no delay. I am just really impressed overall with Sonos, it has done better then I ever expected. I'm now listening to my music every night instead of watching tv. and I love it.

Pros: Simple setup, ease of use, works as advertised

Cons: cost

Sonos Connect, Great Product

Written By GS, Charlotte,NC on Tuesday, July 08, 2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is a great product, the Sonos connect, connects your home stereo to the Sonos speakers. it will also connect the Sonos music source to your home stereo. So things like Pandora, on line radio stations and music on your computer can be played on your stereo. I can also use my turntable and CD and Cassett players and all Speakers in the house can now play the same music or have different speakers playing different things. If you have a radio station you like it can be played over the Sonos network, with all the clarity that you get with digital source as apposed to over the air transmissions. The connection was very easy and it is simple to operate. This is the way the other systems should operate, under a very open platform. Now I can use a real to real tape deck or any other input to get music in to deliver it to all speakers in the house or outside.

Pros: Easy to install, easy to use. Music that is coming from any source or another input sounds good, and no lag time from Sonos speakers to speakers connected to the main stereo.

Cons: Software was a little tough to work around, but one call to tech support with Sonos they were able to get me going in about 3 min. Tech support is great and they will help anytime you need it.

Sonos CONNECT

Written By Chris B, Cranberry Township, PA on Tuesday, June 24, 2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is the third Sonos CONNECT that I have purchased over the past three years. That in and of itself should be enough of a review. I highly recommend all of the SONOS products. I started at Christmas of 2011 with a SONOS Connect, SONOS Bridge and a SONOS Controller. I used the Connect as an input for my home office component stereo system. I live on the outskirts of Pittsburgh, and radio reception is marginal. I used Terk amplified antennas to help, but varying atmospheric conditions made reception spotty. We live in an area of rolling hills. Plus frankly, the local over the air radio stations are going down hill and not playing my preferred music much any more. I bought these to stream Pandora and other services such as iHeart Radio, and stream from my computer and iPhone.

This lead to a second CONNECT and a PLAY:5 "Radio" for the master bedroom and kitchen, respectfully. The second Connect is used with a home theatre amp in the master bedroom, and the radio in the kitchen gets more play than any other. Their PLAY:5 is awesome - Bose cannot compare. Then I bought a second PLAY:5 for my real office (with a free bridge) last Christmas along with a PLAY 3 as a "roamer" for washing the cars, out on the deck/patio, and when in the shower. I just got the third CONNECT for the surround sound in the sunroom. The next purchase will be the SONOS sound bar and sub to replace the Polk Audio ones in the family room. The SONOS uses your iPhone or Android phone to control.

Pros: Extremely easy to set up, and with the latest version of the Controller App, you can easily control several different SONOS System Networks (Home and Office, etc). That used to be difficult, but they listened to their customers and corrected that. Amazingly great sound from their "radios" PLAY:5 and PLAY:3. I do not have a PLAY:1 so I cannot honestly comment on that one.

Cons: A little pricey, and forget about discounts. Like Apple products. But I have to say they are worth every penny. I would have replaced my Polk Sound Bar for my LED TV, as its proprietary remote sucks and it will not integrate with my Samsung TV, but the SONOS Sound Bar and Sub are $1398 and the Polk unit does work and sounds good, so it is hard to justify. $999 for the pair and I would jump...

Awesome

The Sonos system and hardware are second to none. That said their software is decidedly anti-Microsoft. Their Windows desktop controller software is looking dated. They have no Windows 8 support. Absolutely nothing for RT or Winphone. The third part app is ok for Winphone but the RT app is unusable.

So if you are a Windows user prepare to be a little frustrated. Sonos recently had a survey for Windows users to tell them what we would want in a controller and they have new Mac and Android controllers scheduled. Lets hope they follow up with a new Windows app.

I swore I wasn't going to get another Sonos product until they had full Windows support. I was using a laptop in the basement in order to wireless send music to my stereo but alas it had XP. With XP support gone away I didnt want a potentially unsecure computer on my network

Pros: Versatility Internet music Ability to access NAS

Cons: Lack of Windows support

Simple. Easy setup as advertised. I have a network attached storage unit and was concerned if the Sonos unit would work with it. It easily accessed and indexed all of my music. I used a wired LAN connection so I didn't need the bridge unit. I have not tried the internet radio yet.

Pros: Easy set up.

Cons: Price but I suppose simplicity has its price. Limited inputs.

Hooked the connect to my mixer and now it's an "Official House Party". It's cool for people thru out the house to hear my mixes (even on the patio) without setting up the PA and running cables everywhere. Nice!

Pros: Once again easy set up and use!

Cons: I thought it was a little expensive, but once set up and working, I'm glad I made the purchase. Maybe not a con after all.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I would give the Sonos Connect a high recommendation based on the ability to reliably stream music to various parts of your home. For me, I got a Connect so I could integrate Sonos into my existing stereo system. Set-up was quick & easy, and the apps control the player through any tablet or smart phone, including a desktop PC. I would prefer a screen like the logitech squeezebox touch, which I also own, but I like that Sonos is not being discontinued like the SBT, and like its reliance on a proprietary mesh network to increase coverage and decrease wifi congestion.

Pros: Easy to us; integrates well with existing components. Reliably works.

Cons: No screen, 65k song limit, inability to play higher resolution files (e.g. 96/24).

Fun replacement for radio, and CDs

Written By Brian, Mason, OH on Thursday, February 27, 2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Interface is beyond five star - easy, easy, easy. So much you can do with playlists. You can be playing any song anyone names within 10 seconds or less - even if you don't have the album, or never heard of the artist, thanks to spotify. Only reason I didn't give five stars is because they don't support hi resolution audio.

Pros: The interface - sound quality is very good (CD Quality) but not DVD or Blue Ray quality fidelity. Can synchronize many sonos players (party mode) or control independently.

Cons: Resolution is limited to CD quality max, regardless of source resolution.

Mark's Sonos

Written By Mark, Texas on Wednesday, January 29, 2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

A little history. I've been using Rhapsody for years, allowing me to stream music to my computers, MP3 players, and more recently, iOS devices. Works great, and I love that you can download music to portable devices for a low monthly price.

Recently, I started a HUGE DIY project, which is a 13 zone A/V system for my home. I am using two matrix switches, one is an HDMI 8x8 matrix with SPDIF switching incorporated, and the other is an analog RGB 8x8 video switch with stereo analog audio. Short story long, I originally decided NOT to use a SONOS because I would have to switch between the SONOS app and an iRULE system to control the volume (so I thought, I understand that iRULE is coming out with a SONOS inset soon that will integrate this limitation away.) So I bought a ROKU player and decided that I would use SPOTIFY on this box instead. All was fine with this, and the ROKU works well, but the SPOTIFY app within ROKU is nothing like their PC based interface. It's essentially too much work to keep a flow of music going when I'm trying to accomplish other things. It's a no-go.

So, I ponied up the money and took a plunge with the SONOS, having heard great things. Couldn't be happier right now. Came home from a trip last night at 2 am and found the Crutchfield box on the kitchen island, and 15 minutes later I was sitting in my living room chair streaming music via SPDIF digital into my Yamaha's DACs feeding my B&W speakers. Best component I've ever bought

Pros: Seamless integration with all your digital sources... Rhapsody, Spotify, Pandora, and computer music files in my case. I am just using one Sonos Connect and feeding 13 zones, 8 are feeding analog stereo zones and the other 5 are feeding digital (via SPDIF). You should know by looking at the picture this box doesn't have any video capability and therefore no HDMI. I am feeding an HDMI matrix via SPDIF inputs that makes this possible for me. SPDIF output simultaneously works with analog L/R.

Cons: I'm having a problem getting the digital TOSLINK to work with the Yamaha, but don't jump off a cliff yet. I think I'm doing something wrong with my receiver or have a bad cable. Still troubleshooting. Also a possibility that the optical output is turned off when the SONOS output volume is set to "variable", but I don't know the answer to this because there really isn't much of a manual to speak of. Biggest con for SONOS is that they don't do HD video the same way. Pretty please???

Great Device for Home Audio System

Written By MGreene, Knoxville, TN on Friday, January 03, 2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is an absolutely great device to mix into a home audio system. It's a lot like having an almost inexhaustible music collection to choose from. You can choose artists, composers, songs, etc., even from many of the free music services Sonos connects to. The sound quality is great, plus the device does not take up the space required for the typical tuner or CD player, or whatever. You can even build your own music collection on your PC and search for selections out of it. The device is great, but the software that you interact with is superb and is extremely well thought out. It's quick and easy, and, if you just want to listen to one of the many thousands of radio stations it can access, you simply select that station, tell it to play and listen for hours. You can power down your system, come back the next day, turn it on, and you're right back with the station you were using before.

Pros: This can take the place of a tuner, a CD player, or whatever else you use to select music, news, comedy, or whatever you can find on the thousands of places you'll be able to access.

Cons: I can't think of any. The cost is certainly reasonable.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Very easy set up, to my stereo system, easy apps on my android devices, and plays all internet music as well as my own music library. Much easier then the Logitech squeezebox to handle and to navigate. Very strong connection to internet and has a wonderful sound. I have access in one place to my own music library on my PC, Pandora, MOG, and every possible internet music service available. The PC desktop app is second to none.

I have mine set up as follows: Sonos connect--> Emotiva XDA-1 ( DAC)---> Emotiva USP-1 ( pre amp)----> Emotive XPA-2 ( AMP 300 wpc)---> Def, Tech. BP 7006 Towers speakers.

The sound is simply amazing. The product is a bit pricy but it is worth it. Highly recommend it.

Pros: Small size, Easy set up, easy navigation screen.

Cons: Price.

Love It!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I love my Sonos system!

I started with a Play:5 about a year ago and used its line out to feed my stereo. I recently purchased the Connect to serve this purpose - for which it is designed, and free up the Play:5 to be portable around the house.

Using the Connect is great. It connects to my Onkyo tuner with a fiber optic digital connection, which gives excellent sound quality through my KEF speakers (some users add a DAC, but I find it is not really necessary) Others may argue about the sound quality, but I have no problems - I think that my system is well balanced, and a few minor adjustments on the Sonos EQ, as well as the tuner's Bass and Treble gives me bright full sound.

The Sonos setup is simple and barring any obstacles - such as firewall settings- you can have your first component unpacked and playing music in about 15 minutes (adding a new component to an existing system takes less than 5 minute from opening box to having sound!). Sonos requires a direct internet connection (plug into your router) to access streaming internet music and a NAS to have your own music library operate independent of a computer.

Love it!

Pros: Easy to set up Easy to expand simple design fully integrated

Cons: no real issues I have come across yet price may be an obstacle for some but it you have probably spent more on less in the past

Garbage Product

Written By Former Sonos User, Long Island, NY on Sunday, September 22, 2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Worst product made and even worse customer service. Sonos could not help me and tried to resolve my broken Connect by trying to sell me the Connect:AMP. Product stopped working at 13 months old. Warranty is 12 months and Sonos wants 2/3 the cost for replacement, shipping and taxes. Only used it 5 times. Will not buy Sonos again. Going back to Crutchfield for Sony products only.

Pros: None

Cons: Product Reliability and Customer Service

I've been searching for a device that would allow me to play mp3 on my home theater system. Tried a few other things like Apple TV, verizon dvr, and play station 3. All worked but none were reliable. I had read about the Sonos system but shied away from it because of the expense. I'm so sorry I waited so long. It works flawlessly. It's a very high quality device that bridges your computer to your home stereo. Thank you.

Pros: Easy to set up. Works as advertised.

Cons: Expensive.

Great to Expand A/V Zone Coverage

Written By Hiram B., Aguada, PR on Saturday, June 22, 2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Works as advertised and then some ... The documentation highlights how the CONNECT hooks to your existing receiver and expands it functionality by providing access to your Rip Libraries, iTunes and a great number of internet music services. Yet for me the best feature is that the CONNECT also allows you to expand the coverage of sound sources connected to your A/V receiver.

The Analog Inputs allowed me to connect the Sonos CONNECT to the Zone2/3 output of my Yamaha RX-A2000 A/V receiver. I do not need to run speaker wires from my Yamaha A/V to my Patio, or anywhere else outside the Home Theater room. By just turning on my AV Zone 2, any source (local radios stations, CD, DVD, Blue Ray, selection on the A/V, is automatically & wirelessly send to my Sonos speakers

This is the one feature that made me happy as I needed a way to expand my A/V coverage to my Terrace Patio and it was impossible to run speaker Wires. Plus, although my A/V provided me with services like Pandora, Rhapsody and SIRUS, the CONNECT now allows me to expand the range of option that I can enjoy on my A/V

Pros: -easy installation -lets you expand your A/V with internet music services -analog input allows Sonos speakers to connect to A/V Zones, and expand the coverage of the music sources connected to your A/V system

Cons: Expensive solution

SONOS CONNECT SOME WHAT

Written By LarryT, Greenbrier, AR on Sunday, June 16, 2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Enjoy my Sonos connect. My only concern was in downloading HD Tacks to my iTunes account. I wanted to listen to HD tracks from Sonos thru iTunes. I was able to load HD tracks to the Sonus but they would not play. Keep getting info from Sonos that said the HD Tracks was not supported. Contacted Sonos and was told that they don't support 24 bit music. That was disappointing to hear but I will get over it. I will connect my laptop using Audioquest Dragonfly 96/24 DAC to the input of my McIntosh amp and listen to my HD Tracks that way. Much better sound anyway

Pros: good for what it was designed to do but does need to be updated so it can handle 24 bit music

Cons: not able to play any music that has more than 16 bits

Pros: Easy install and setup

Cons: N/A

I bought the CONNECT as an add-on to my existing system and to connect to a Cambridge Audio AR30 receiver as my primary source of music. It's very easy to connect and works once you add it to the Sonos network. The sound it great and the controller software is fine to use although sometimes picky as to where the music library is stored.

Pros: Easy to connect to an existing network or to setup a new one; has a network hub.

Cons: None really. I wish it came in black, though, to blend in better with my other components.

sonus connect

Device does what it is supposed to do, however it is very suceptible to intereference from other wireless devices Unfortunately it works on an older more crowded 2.4 mhz band rather than the newer more stable and less crowded 5mhz band. The device should have more shielding and the ability to shift between the two frequencies. Device is prone to dropouts unless an extra bridge "amplifier-repeater" is added for additional $.

Pros: Small footprint ; excellent tech support; well made

Cons: Too prone to external interference
