Nice cabinet but needs IR extender in some applications
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
This is a really well made quality TV stand and I would highly recommend it. I like being able to hide the sub-woofer and all the wires in the back. A few things you may want to know about: (1) The wheels only roll forward/backward, not left to right. I had hoped they would roll left to right. (2) We have a coffee table in our family room and it blocked the IR signal on the remotes to the devices so you had to raise the remote up high or very low to perform an action, which drove my wife crazy. I tried installing the cable box up top behind the mesh screen but the cable's remote didn't have enough juice to get through it (my Logitech universal did though-but I still couldn't control the amp and DVD easily). I ended up putting my Orb speakers up there. I subsequently bought a Sanus All-In-One IR Repeater which did the trick, and made for a happy wife. As shown on Crutchfield's video demo the unit is very easy to put together. In my case the shipper only sent one person, not the two required for white glove delivery. Luckily I happened to be home to help the driver since it was too heavy for one person to load up our front stairs. I also didn't know until I checked off the delivery sheet they would take the packing materials, which was substantial. The driver didn't offer to take the trash.
Pros: Excellent style, craftsmanship and materials. Great cable management.
Cons: May need an IR extender if you have a coffee table between you and the console. Delevery wasn't as promised.
