Overview

Our take on the BDI Valera 9729

Made for your large flat-screen TV

The BDI Valera 9729 provides a rock-solid base for your larger flat-panel TV and accompanying audio/video components. It can support a TV with a screen size of up to 65". The stand's flowing lines and rounded corners make a stylish addition to your room's décor.

Stores up to nine components

The stand has a sturdy adjustable shelf plus a bottom shelf, for your receiver, Blu-ray player, center channel speaker, or other components. Unobstructed airflow keeps your electronics cool, thanks to the stand's open design. And the back panel has openings so you keep the system's wires out of site for a clean, uncluttered look.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I regret buying this piece. To begin with, it is made in China, even though BDI appears to be a US company. The original package came with a defective bottom piece, and worn/corroded pieces. the revised shipment, almost a week later, again came with fifty somewhat pieces all thrown into a bag and many were corroded and rusty. This is unacceptable for this much money. Do not think this is a quality piece of furniture, because it is not - it is just another piece of cosmetically manufactured garbage from China. The cheap cam fasteners provided cracked when trying to use them to secure the cam bolts together ( again, I had two sets of parts provided and had to use nearly all of them). There are plastic covers which cover the machine bolts. I have worked in the construction industry over twenty years, putting new things together constantly, and this is one of the top ten poorest set of directions and parts I have come across in that time. I do not understand the two five star reviews which preceded mine. The two glass shelves get dusty constantly

Pros: 1.) This piece fit the corner I had available 2.) From a distance it looks ok when the glass shelves are not full of dust 3. Even though Crutchfield wanted to distance themselves from the problems and force me to deal with the manufacturer direct, through persistence I was able to get a response and the right pieces sent out.

Cons: Poor quality construction parts, no direction on how far to screw pieces in. No cust. support # on assemble instructions Glass shelves - dust magnet Poor quality control and only one person to contact at BDI for customer support - good luck with their answer machine if you have to send it back, it is very heavy and there are no instructions to show how it was packed Poor assembly instructions and all pieces just thrown into a bag without any measured sizes Limited to 36 characters could

Very Nice TV Stand

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I was hesitant to purchase a heavy piece of furniture that required assembly but I am happy that I did. The shipping from BDI was perfect and the stand arrived the same day as the TV. The Valera 9729 is a very sturdy piece of furniture. It easily supports my 55" Sony (it can handle 65" TVs per the advertising). The selling point for me was the ability of the unit to support a lot of weight. The two glass shelves can support any component that is needed in a home theater environment. I placed a center speaker, Blue-Ray player, a second audio player, and a receiver on the shelves and there was still a lot of room for additional components. Assembly was easy and while the instructions recommend two people for the assembly, almost all of the steps can be performed with one healthy person. The hardest part is moving the main box after it is delivered. I recommend opening the main box and removing each internal box before moving them to the desired location. I could have purchased a much less expensive home theater/TV stand unit but I wanted the stand to be high quality like the TV it is supporting. I highly recommend the BDI Valera 9729 if you need a strong stand for your TV and room for numerous components. Crutchfield make the purchase simple.

Pros: High Quality materials, Looks great, easy to assemble

Cons: N/A

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Very attractive stand. Shape matches well with new Samsung Plasma. Fewer steps to put together than you might think, but be careful and follow directions. Delivery took longer than the TV, but is was very efficient, considering the package weighs 170 lbs. Not for one person.

Pros: Great looks and quality construction.

Cons: Quality construction= very heavy weight. Don't try to put it together alone.
