Beauty and Function in a small package

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I received the unit this week. The unit was packaged well. Set up took about 15 minutes. The top surface of the cabinet seems like it does not scratch easily so sliding the TV across the top does not even leave a mark. The unit moves with ease but stays place once moved. I have to say I have not seen a more beautiful and well-made entertainment unit. The back of the cabinet is easy to remove and replace so that setting up equipment has never been easier.

Pros: stylish, easy to assemble, quality materials

Cons: none

Fits Perfect!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

After remodeling our living room, we wanted an appropriately scaled TV and a cabinet that housed the components out of site. I was a bit hesitant to purchase because the manufacturer suggests a 37" TV as the maximum, so I called BDI and they explained it was for aesthetic reasons only. Well, let me tell you, 37" TV's are no longer readily available, but don't despaired because most 39" & 40" fit nicely and do not look out of place. This is largely due to tv's loosing their bulky frame. I have a 39" Panasonic and it looks super on top of the Revo. The build quality is superior as is the fit and finish. I chose the darker expresso oak, which is a natural wood veneer exactly as fine furniture. The unit is heavy, which adds to it's stability, yet it rotates with ease. I have not experienced any over heating of components as the back panel is well ventilated. The degree of access of the components is super easy for front and back, allowing for a very tidy installation. The Revo is the perfect solution for those of us who do not want our audio/visual equipment dominating the room.

Pros: Build quality is superior to that of the big box store brands and cannot be compared to a knock-down cheaper model. The unit arrives extremely well packed in a very sturdy box with lots of cushion.

Cons: None

Cool Looks, But Hot Components

Written by: Dale from Gainesville, FL on May 12, 2010

Pros: The swivel is smooth, the back comes of easily for full access to your equipment, looks great in the corner of the room. Cons: Expensive, components run hot - something I was not expecting given the hype surrounding the BDI name. It is a nice looking cabinet and sturdily built, that requires some assembly when you get it home. It is my first BDI cabinet and I had very high expectations - especially for the price. I am greatly disappointed in the heat build up in the cabinet with the door closed as I am only running two devices - a few watts from the integrated amplifier and an HD radio receiver above it. R. Think Again

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

It's a great corner solution. Having only 15-in. depth for components, though, was a little bit of a problem because we have a cd-changer that's too deep. The first delivery had a damaged bottom swivel. The edge was crushed because it's not made of solid wood, it's particle board (?) with a wood laminate. It has nice organizing features to hide cables and ventilation, etc.

It looks like the Cambridge Audio Azur 851A will be about 2 inches too deep to fit inside this cabinet. However, I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat to confirm. They can also discuss other options if it does not fit. [ Jeff  Jan 24, 2014 ]  Staff
