Talk with the A/V Design Group first
So on paper, it looks like a great deal - but the devil is in the details. If you want an on-wall install - then this is most likely a great deal. If you want an in-wall install - then that's where you might run into the "additional cost." The good news is that the Crutchfield folk are great with making sure you understand what's involved (including an additional charge for on-site assessment). Crutchfield is just the intermediary between the outsourcing company - so they are just passing the charge along though it might be much less/free if you are in the Cville area and Crutchfield does the install. I was hoping for a full in-wall installation of a 5.1.2 (or 7 speaker installation), but because I didn't have any access space above/below my home theater - this additional assessment was necessary. I wound up going with a local company who did the on-site assessment for free and chose them because their total price was within my budget for this particular item. Still got all my speakers from Crutchfield (6 stars) - and no problems with the refund for this install. So just know - don't expect to order this item online and expect someone to show up to do the install. The order will be on hold until you talk with someone from the A/V Design group who will explain all those little details that aren't necessarily in the product description.
Pros: Crutchfield Design Team is very well versed in explaining everything before you purchase this particular item.
Cons: Would be nice if they would explain just a little bit more in the product description. Also, there should probably be something in their system to let the sales rep know that talking with someone in the Design Group is a requirement for processing the order (so, if you are ordering on a Friday evening might be a good idea to leave this line item out so it doesn't hold up the rest of your order since the Design Group is only available M-F).
