Sorry for delay in responding, Don't know since I have have not needed balance control. However, I can say this unit works quite well, far better than the somewhat smaller, compact Denon unit. Hope this helps. HBE

    Q
Can I use the analog input to hook up my turntable?
    homer  Mar 14, 2015
    6 answers
    A
yes as long as your turntable has a built in pre amp
    martin  Mar 16, 2015
    A
In a word, Yes but it isn't quite that simple. It depends on the turntable and whether you have a phone stage / preamp. The raw output from many turntables is just the signal directly from the cartridge. That signal needs amplification to reach the same level as an analog input from a CD player, DVD, etc... If your turntable has a built in signal amplifier or you have an external phone stage than you may plug it directly into the analog input and it will work perfectly. If you do not have an internal signal amplifier and historically were using the "phono" input on a receiver or integrated amp then you will need an external phono preamp to make it compatible with the M-CR510. Something like the Pre-Ject phono box will work which is currently out of stock at Crutchfield.
    scott  Mar 16, 2015

No directly, any portable player or DVD, tape with "RCA" analig outputs can be connected The turnables came with a low signal level, using RCA stereo output connectors You will need in the middle a phono signal "preamplifier" to connect it to this kind of amplifiers without a dedicated phono input Look http://wwv.crutchfield.com/g_50500/Phono-Preamps.html

Very relevant question! I don't know, but am wanting to add a turntable to this setup and not sure I will be able to mate it to my M-CR510! Certainly Marantz product info is available to answer this!

I'm not really the person to ask about this stuff. I love the receiver. I have it in my basement bar. Have 3 pairs of speakers in the ceiling and mainly listen to pandora on it. I decided I wanted to try and hook my tv up so I could listen to hockey games on it. The first I tried was ananlog input and it plays the TV great. I would assume it would do he same for a turntable but I don't have one to test for you.

How does SiriusXM work with this unit? Does the CR510 or 610 have a built in tuner that just needs to be connected to a serius antenna?

It's internet stream - you need to have an internet-based account with Sirius, similar to Pandora. No special antenna needed.

There isn't a SiriusXM antenna. It uses WiFi instead. You enter your username and password as if you were listening on the internet.

How exactly does the internet radio work? Does the manufacturer maintain a server that allows you to find stations by genre, by location, etc., or do you have to look up the URL and enter it manually? Does the device connect to the streams directly, so that the user isn't dependent on that server being up in order to listen to any stream? I have been using Squeezebox for internet radio, and when their server goes down I am dead in the water - I can't listen to anything because all of the streams are routed through the Squeezebox server. I am looking for something that doesn't have that drawback, but that does provide a directory of available streams.

Unfortunately the internet radio is above my pay grade. I am an old guy and this technology is beyond my knowledge.

The online vTuner service which offers easy browsing of internet radio stations and podcasts. (over 12,000 available). vTuner enables access to web-based radio stations and podcasts via an extremely reliable online database with a wide variety of content. Internet Radio stations in MP3 (32-320kbps, WMA (48-192kbps), and AAC (16-320 kbps) formats are supported. You can browse content by Genre, Location, Recommended, Favorites, or Keyword search. The unit will automatically save up to 20 of the most recently played stations.
