Enjoy more music on your high-end audio system

"Internet music" and "great sound quality" don't often go together, but they most definitely do with this network audio player from Marantz. The NA7004 connects both to your home network and your audio receiver, allowing you to enjoy cool music options like PANDORA® Internet radio, Rhapsody®, and more, on your best audio system. You can plug your iPod® straight into the front panel or upgrade to Apple AirPlay® for ultra-convenient access to your iTunes® library — no dock needed.

NA7004

High-quality circuitry and components for an exceptional listening experience

This player exemplifies Marantz's commitment to superb sound. The NA7004 uses high-quality parts throughout, chosen only after extensive listening tests. You'll hear a spacious, lifelike soundstage emerge from deep silence, thanks in part to shielding that prevents digital noise from affecting sensitive analog circuits.

A "DAC" of all trades

You've probably noticed that digital music files that sound fine though a set of earbuds often sound thin and flat when played through a stereo system. The NA7004's advanced Cirrus DAC (digital-to-audio converter) will surprise you with its ability to spin straw into gold, sonically speaking. Its impressive number-crunching power handles digital audio signals all the way up to 192kHz/24-bit, reproducing your favorite music files with natural warmth and rich detail. Take advantage of the great DAC in this player four different ways:

  • stream digital music over your home network, including files stored on your PC's hard drive and music from the Internet
  • plug your iPod® directly into the front-panel USB "Type A" input
  • use the player's back-panel USB "Type B" input to play files stored on a PC's hard drive
  • connect your CD player to the back-panel optical or coaxial digital input
No matter which way you choose, the NA7004 will breathe new life into your favorite digital music sources and let you hear them in a way you've never heard before.

Discover new music

An Internet-powered player like the NA7004 is a great way to broaden your listening horizons. You'll have easy access to thousands of Internet radio stations, plus you can tune in music services, like Rhapsody, Napster®, and PANDORA Internet radio. Use Rhapsody to explore a vast catalog of music without paying for each song (there's just a small monthly subscription fee). PANDORA lets you create personalized radio stations based on the artists and songs you like.

Quick access to your favorites

You can also connect your iPhone® or iPod touch® directly using the front-panel USB input (and there's a free iPod/iPhone App you can download at the iTunes Store). If you'd like to avoid running a cable to your home network, this Monster PowerNet system lets you use your home's electrical wiring to pass Ethernet signals. And for wireless playback, check out the optional RX101 Bluetooth® module.

Unleash your iTunes® music — with a free upgrade to AirPlay®

Apple's exciting AirPlay technology lets you access your favorite music from your iPhone®, iPad™, iPod touch®, or your iTunes library on your computer using this Marantz receiver. You'll be able to control iTunes and see music information, including your album art, track titles, and artist info on your compatible Apple device, or on your TV if your Marantz receiver is equipped with a video output. First you will need a free firmware upgrade. Go to the Marantz website for instructions on how to download and activate the upgrade. Requires a wireless home network. Receiver requires wired connection to the router.

Audio Features

Quality Construction: The Marantz NA7004 Network Audio Player features a double-layered chassis and uses four large rubber feet to resist vibration.

HDAM SA2 Circuits: In the analog section of the NA7004 are Marantz-proprietary HDAM SA2 circuits that handle critical buffering and stage-to-stage signal transition.

Symmetrical Audio Circuitry: Symmetrical signal traces help maintain perfect synchronization between Left and Right channels for rock-stable imaging and a convincing soundstage.

Impedance Matching Copper Plate: An impedance-matching copper plate inside the rear panel just behind the analog outputs improves signal-to-noise performance and channel separation to preserve the NA7004's outstanding imaging capabilities.

High-Grade D/A Converter: The Marantz NA7004 employs a Cirrus Logic advanced D/A converter (CS4398) for superb high-fidelity audio playback (2Hz-96kHz). The Cirrus CS4398 stereo D/A Converter offers several advantages. An advanced multi-bit Delta-Sigma architecture handles 24-bit/192kHz digital signals, and boasts extraordinary dynamic range (up to 110db) as well as equally exceptional signal-to-noise performance (up to 110dB) so your digital music files provide the warmth, detail, and resolution you demand.

M-DAX: The Marantz Dynamic Audio eXpander (M-DAX) makes up for lost audio content in compressed audio sources (from lossy compression) during playback. You can choose from on of the following M-DAX levels - High, Mid, Low, or Off.

Analog & Digital Outputs: The Marantz Network Audio Player features both analog & digital audio outputs.

  • Analog Output: The Marantz NA7004 is equipped with a set of stereo audio RCA outputs to connect the unit to your home stereo receiver. The analog output will transfer network, USB, and iPod/iPhone audio content to your home stereo receiver.
  • Digital Outputs: The Marantz NA7004 Network Audio Player is equipped with two digital audio outputs (1 coaxial/1 optical) to connect the unit to your home theater receiver. These digital outputs will transfer network, USB, and iPod/iPhone audio content to your home theater receiver.

Headphone Output: The Marantz NA7004 features a high-grade headphone circuit and front-panel 1/4" headphone output. The headphone output includes a high-speed current buffer circuit for minimal interference with the main audio output circuit, resulting in maximum articulation, stability, and fatigue-free listening. The headphone output has its own volume level adjustment.
