The DAvED (Digital Audio via Electrical Distribution) system consists of two components:
The ZR6001 receiver — This sophisticated component looks and functions as a regular home theater receiver, while also serving as your multi-room audio maestro. It can transmit audio to up to six different rooms via your existing AC wiring. You can tune into radio stations with its built-in AM/FM tuner, or listen to any audio component you connect to it.
A ZC4001 "client" — This compact unit receives transmissions from the ZR6001, and provides crisp, clean audio with its built-in amp and stereo speakers. Its sleek top panel features built-in controls to operate the ZR6001, letting you select and control your audio sources remotely.
Exceptionally easy to set up and use
Getting started is amazingly quick and intuitive. First, connect your audio components to the ZR6001, just like you would connect them to a standard home theater or stereo receiver. Next, plug the ZR6001 into a standard power outlet in your main room. Finally, plug the ZC4001 into a power outlet in a secondary room. That's it. You're done. These two units automatically find each other and communicate over your existing AC wiring. You'll be listening to your favorite tunes almost anywhere in your house within just a few minutes.
Music throughout your home
You can purchase additional ZC4001 clients to expand your system — the ZR6001 can support up to six. Each compact ZC4001 features a built-in amplifier and speakers. Their compact size not only makes them easy to fit into any room, but also allows you to take one with you to different rooms in the house. Plug one into an AC outlet on your deck to enjoy music while you lounge, or take one into the garage while you work on your car. And for even more audio options, each ZC4001 includes a RCA stereo audio input to connect external devices, like an MP3 player or satellite radio.
How it works
The DAvED system transmits your music over your home's standard electrical wiring, using a clever approach to avoid static and noise. The ZR6001 receiver starts by converting the sound from its built-in tuner, a connected CD player, or other audio source into clean digital signals. It then modulates these signals to a higher frequency and passes them through your power lines.
On the other side, the ZC4001 client demodulates the high-frequency signals and converts them back to analog. By using multiple transmission channels and staying on the channel with the least AC interference, the DAvED system keeps your music sounding clear and natural, delivering near-CD-quality sound.

Back in your main room, the ZR6001 gives you top-notch home theater performance. It has the sturdy build you expect from Marantz, including a stylish aluminum front panel. And with 90 watts x 7 of clean, high-quality amplification, you'll experience high-impact surround sound with your favorite movies and music. The back panel also sports two HD-capable component video inputs, allowing you to connect and enjoy up to two HD sources.
