Create a great-sounding home theater system that fits your needs with Mirage's Nanosat 5.0 speaker package. It includes five of Mirage's compact Nanosat speakers — at a package savings of over $100 — for a budget-friendly system that doesn't skimp on audio quality. These little wonders produce realistic imaging and lifelike ambient effects, from the cheer of a stadium crowd to the splash of individual raindrops in a thunderstorm. Just add a subwoofer of your choice for deep, dramatic bass. You can also easily expand this system — pick up a matching center channel speaker for even clearer dialogue, or a couple of extra satellites to create a 6.1- or 7.1-channel system.

Innovative design for expansive, lifelike sound
The key to the Nanosat's open, true-to-life sound is Mirage's exclusive Omnipolar® technology. Each speaker disperses sound evenly in a 360° pattern, thanks to the saucer-shaped Omniguide mounted above its drivers. The result: a deeper, wider, taller soundstage that transforms your entire listening space into a "sweet spot." You won't have to anchor yourself to one prime seat — you'll experience warm, natural audio throughout the room. Just add a Mirage powered subwoofer to get deep, room-thumping bass.

Out-of-the-way placement options
Mirage's Omnipolar design gives you plenty of placement flexibility. The small satellites fit nicely on shelves or tables, or you can mount them on the wall using the included hardware. Because of the way they radiate sound, they're more forgiving than direct-firing speakers. You can even mount the satellites up high, near the ceiling, for an unobtrusive look.

Very happy

Written By DanD, Huntington Beach, CA on Wednesday, September 29, 2010

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Very capable speakers with good range and tone. Can't really compare to the sound field
that my floor standing Infinity speakers produce but still do an excellent job. Fills a small to
medium room with full, clear sound. Just make sure to pair them with a capable subwoofer. If
you are looking for a great combination of size, sound and price I don't think you'll find a
better package than these Mirage Nanosats.

Great home theater speakers

Written By Jim, Ithaca NY on Thursday, September 23, 2010

I bought this set from Crutchfield a year ago, and have been SO happy with the sound. Very
small, but HUGE sound. A big upgrade from the Sony theater in a box speakers I had
before. You won't go wrong with the nanosats.

Excellent Little Speakers

Written By Tyler, Ohio on Thursday, August 26, 2010

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I was wary of buying tiny satellite speakers to replace my aging floor speaker setup, but the
Mirage Nanosats hold their own. The sound quality is excellent and they fill the toom much
more than I expected. They are also very nice looking and my wife was pleased with the way
our living room looks now that we have mounted these little speakers and taken out the
massive floor units I had before. They honestly make our living room look and sound larger.

These speakers put virtually no bass at all. You MUST have a subwoofer to accompany
them. In my old setup with large speakers, the sub was only noticeable in heavy bass
music or rumbling sound effects. Now it is a critical ingredient for every movie or music I
play. This is not a problem, as even my 10 year old JBL sub blends just fine, but rather a
heads up for anyone choosing this package instead the more expensive Nanosat 5.1

Excellent sound

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I spent the better part of 4 months researching and listening to different brands of surround sound systems in the $500 to $1000 price range. I had no bias toward any brand, i just wanted the best sound quality for the price. Let me tell you that after 2 weeks of listening to cd's, ipod, and blue-ray discs, these speakers sound amazing! I think the key to unlocking the full potential of these speakers is to first have plenty of power. My pioneer elite vsx-21txh supplies 110 x 7 plus i have a 12" polk audio powered sub along w/ 2 additional nanosats to complet the 7.1. I have the crossover setting at 100hz and they blend well together. I have 12 ft ceilings in a room 20 x 25 and have them mounted upside down near the ceiling. What I find incredible is that it does not matter where you sit in this room, the sound is superb, room filling sound that rivals most any theater.

Bottom line is that whether you are playing classical, rock, or watching your favorite action blue ray movie, these speakers really deliver. Clean, loud and crisp, and for the price, a real bargain.

5 Speaker Package: The Mirage Nano 5.0 Speaker System consists of five matching Mirage Nano satellite speakers.

Driver Technology
Enclosure Design
Mounting Options

Driver Technology

Drivers: Each satellite houses a 2-3/4" titanium deposit polypropylene cone midrange with butyl rubber surround and a 3/4" pure titanium hybrid (PTH) dome tweeter mounted on the Omniguide.

Omnipolar Technology: By utilizing the natural room reflections this speaker design radiates sound in a 360° pattern, expanding the sweet spot to encompass virtually the entire room.

Omniguide: The patented Omniguide module utilizes two deflectors, one each for the tweeter and midrange. The module disperses sound the way the ear and brain are accustomed to receiving it; thirty percent is direct sound, the other seventy percent is reflected off walls, ceilings, floors and other surfaces for a completely immersive, 360º experience.

Enclosure Design

Enclosure: The satellites have an acoustic suspension, extruded aluminum enclosure.

Speaker Terminals: Each satellite features high-quality binding post speaker terminals for a secure and convenient connection. You will need to remove a plug that's inserted in the center of the binding post if you wish to use single banana plugs, the terminals are too far apart for dual banana plugs. Spade connectors, pin connectors, or bare wire up to 10 gauge can also be used.

Mounting Options

Video Shielded: The satellites are magnetically shielded for safe placement near your TV or computer monitor without causing picture interference.

Mounting: The NanoSat speaker comes with a key-hole slot wall mount bracket installed. The bracket is mounted with one screw and can position the speaker right side up or upside down. Once mounted the speaker can swivel left or right (approximately +/-40°). The bracket mounts the speaker approximately 1/4" from the wall. The 1/4" 20 threaded insert on the bottom can also be used with other brackets. If you mount the satellite speaker more than six feet off the floor, Mirage recommends turning it upside down. If you place the satellite speaker on a table or shelf, put it as close to the front edge as possible.
