I used to have quality speakers above and below my deck until I had
someone recommend this product to me. I purchased a pair of them out of
curiousity and was so pleased that I gave my old ones away. While you may
read some reviews on this product as lacking in highs and lows, I honestly
believe that it is because they may be comparing these speakers to
speakers that they use in an audio room that cost thousands of dollars.

I have many friends that listen to music outdoors while relaxing in the
evening hours and everyone of them have been amazed with the quality of
sound that these speakers reproduce. I have heard them hooked up to
low level quality amplifiers made by Onkyo and Dennon and they still out
perform any speaker I have ever listened to in the outdoor retail market. I
had always respected and loved my old speakers and for a while believed
that there was nothing on the market that could touch their quality and
sound reproduction. I have since given away my outdoor speakers for a
better quality sound experience in an outdoor environment. I have listened
to Bose, Infinity, and Boston Accoustics and nothing has come close
to the joy and experience I have had with these speakers. I have
personally purchased two additional sets of these to give me the quality of
sound in all areas of my yard and around the pool. I have two on the top
of my deck, two below my deck, and two of them installed in the trees so
as not to have to turn them up to extreme to bother the neighbors.

Now I must admit that I have on occasion powered and tested these
speakers to the limit, however that was when the neighbors were all in
attendance and requesting additional volume. I must state that they out
performed any outdoor speaker at excruciating levels as well.

You are not going to get gold for the price of steele. That being said, my
honest opinion is that you are not going to find a better outdoor speaker
on the market that is not a professional quality. And to think, they have
these speakers on sale now for almost $200 less than I paid for them
initially. What a bargin at this price. I am thinking of order a few more to
give away as gifts.

I recently purchsed a pair of these to add to my outdoor sound system. I already have a pair of Bose Freespace 51s (the big green ones) out in the landscaping and I was looking for something to round out the area at the covered lanai. These are far superior in music reproduction than the Bose speakers, and they can perform well at higher volume levels where the Bose distort badly; however, the Bose do seem to dispurse the music better, albeit over a much more limited area. Given the area being covered, I was looking for something to perform well, but I also was looking for something with a tight low range response. These simply do not reproduce satisfying lows. Furthermore, I have found their highs at volume to be a bit harsh. Overall, I would say they are the best sounding outdoor speaker I have heard yet; I guess the perfect outdoor speaker doesn't exist without going to something commercial... and significantly more expensive. Looks like I will soon be adding an outdoor sub to supplement them.

I purchased a pair of these last summer and love them. Very tight high and mid range. The bass is quite impressive for the price and size...I would highly recomend!
