Choose Mirage's versatile OS3-SAT satellite speakers for your home theater system and enjoy dynamic, high-impact sound. Mirage's sophisticated speaker technology creates an impressively large, spacious soundstage. And the tiny-but-mighty OS3-SAT's elegant lines and high-gloss finish make it a stylish addition to any room.
Innovative design for expansive, lifelike sound
The key to this speaker's open, true-to-life sound is Mirage's exclusive Omnipolar® technology. The OS3-SAT disperses sound evenly in a 360° pattern, thanks to the saucer-shaped Omniguide mounted above its drivers. The result: a deeper, wider, taller soundstage that transforms your entire listening space into a "sweet spot." You won't have to anchor yourself to one prime seat you'll experience warm, natural audio throughout the room.
Out-of-the-way placement options
Mirage's Omnipolar design gives you plenty of placement flexibility. The small satellites fit nicely on shelves or tables, or you can mount them on the wall using the included hardware. Because of the way they radiate sound, they're more forgiving than direct-firing speakers. You can even mount the satellites up high, near the ceiling, for an unobtrusive installation.
Build a high-performance system
Team up five, six, or seven OS3-SAT satellites with a Mirage powered subwoofer for powerful home theater sound with minimal visual impact on your room. These satellites also make great surrounds when used with Mirage's OS3-FS tower speakers and OS3-CC center channel speaker.

Why choose bookshelf speakers?
Bookshelf speakers may be small in size, but they can deliver surprisingly big sound. Some ultra-compact models even fit on a desktop. Most are right at home in tight spaces like shelves, so they're usually good choices for your home theater's rear channels. For the best performance, try placing bookshelf speakers on solid speaker stands to help the sound really "open up." If you want full bass impact, add a powered subwoofer and enjoy punchy sound that's as deeply satisfying as that of floor-standing speakers.
Mirage OS3-SAT Reviews
Average Customer Review:
Great Speakers, A Bit Expensive
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
I needed two surround speakers for my odd-sized room and these satisfied my
requirements perfectly. The Omnipolar-sound smoothly and completely fills the
room from the shoulder height placement at the rear of my room. The
speakers are sturdy, if not heavy, and are small enough and attractive enough
to have them placed on a table and/or bookshelf. These speakers are a great
alternative if you can't mount your speakers from the ceiling. Rugged brackets
are provided if you can mount your speakers up high.
On the negative side, the speakers are a bit expensive and are not a domestic
ROOM FILLING SOUND LIFE LIKE STEREO IMAGING I ALWAYS LOVE MIRAGE AND I
STILL DO THESE SPEAKERS NEED TO BE PAIRED WITH A CENTER CHANNEL OR A
SUB TO GET THE MID BASS YOU NEED
great surround and multichannel stereo sound
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
I needed to replace surround speakers in a room that I use more often for multi-channel stereo listening than I do for surround theater, and these OS3-SAT's were exactly what I was looking for. While the cheaper entry level Mirage satellite speakers were well rated and perfectly adequate for surround theater, these give a much fuller sound for music. I have added them to a system of two floor Infinity speakers, a nice Infinity center speaker and a 10" Polk sub--- very pleased with the sound. Also, when wall-mounted (which even I could easily do) they are very attractive and not too big.
Fantastic little speakers
I first came across Mirage here on Crutchfield while I was in the market for a set of decent bookshelf-speakers that wouldn't break the bank: I liked the theory behind Mirage's products, but since sound is such a personal thing, theory means little until you actually hear the speakers...
The first thing that struck me about these things is how good they are at imaging: When I first auditioned them, I actually had to confirm with the AV-tech that there wasn't a center-channel speaker playing simultaneously. Most speakers can accurately center things within the soundstage, but the Mirages can actually isolate things there - In other words, you can hear the "space" between instruments. The second thing that impressed me was the detail and clarity of the sound that these things produce. Little details like the reverberations and echo in a live recording that are usually obscured by the main audio on lesser speakers really shine through on these little things. But perhaps most impressive is the depth of these speakers: The soundstage is exceedingly wide and open for a speaker of this size, with depth that approaches levels seen in some 5.1 systems I've heard. The sound extends beyond the speaker and creates a soundstage you feel like you could reach into - It's like you're sitting in the sound, not just listening to it. All that from a speaker that fits next to my computer on top of my desk. Remarkable.

Overview: The Mirage OS³-SAT is a bookshelf/satellite speaker that uses sophisticated driver technology and Mirage's exclusive Omnipolar technology to make the small bookshelf speaker ideal for virtually any sound application. The speaker comes in a Gloss Black finish.
Note: The speaker is sold individually; not as a pair.
Omnipolar Technology: This technology provides a 360° soundfield to immerse you in sound wherever you are in the room. It also gives you much more flexibility in speaker placement without sacrificing performance. Omnipolar technology provides a perfect balance of direct and reflected sound for accurate, realistic listening.
Omniguide Design: The design consists of a conically shaped cylinder that is responsible for reflecting sound in a perfect 360° pattern. This unique design guarantees the same tonal balance and dispersion characteristics no matter how and where you mount the speakers. For best results, the following mounting guidelines should be followed:
- When mounted above 6 feet, the speaker should be inverted with grille facing downwards.
- When mounted below 6 feet, the speaker should be mounted normally with the grill facing up.
Drivers: The drivers used in the OS³-SAT are as follows:
- Woofer: The speaker features a 4.5" polypropylene titanium deposit hybrid woofer with a ribbed elliptical rubber surround mounted at the top of the sealed cabinet.
- Tweeter: Floating above the woofer is a precisely angled cast aluminum Omniguide module that houses the speaker's proprietary 1" PTH (pure titanium hybrid) tweeter.
Speaker Terminals: The OS³-SAT uses high quality gold-plated binding posts located on the bottom rear of the speaker. The terminals will accept a wide range of connector type including spade lugs, banana plugs or pin-type connectors.
Applications: The OS³-SAT is a very versatile speaker since it can be used as a front, center channel or surround speaker. You can use these satellites to create a complete home theater speaker system or a dedicated 2-channel stereo setup. This speaker can also be matched up with Mirage's OS³-FS tower speakers or OS³-CC center channel, and a Mirage powered subwoofer to create a home theater speaker system
Mounting: The speaker can be wall mounted using the supplied plastic wall bracket. The screws needed to attach the bracket to the wall are not provided. The speakers also have a flat base so they can be placed on stands or a shelf. The footprint of the speaker measures 5-9/16" wide x 6-5/8" deep.
