This add-on adapter works with Channel Master's Internet-to-TV coaxial kit. Plug it into an available coaxial RF wall jack, and it'll automatically connect to other adapters in your home. Use multiple adapters to bring a consistent, high-speed network signal to TVs, A/V receivers, game consoles and computers throughout your home.
In addition to enabling a PC network connection, this adapter simultaneously passes TV signals to your set-top box or television. That means you can still use that same coaxial wall outlet to enjoy TV programming in the room where you've installed this system.

The Channel Master CM6001 is an add-on adapter for Channel Master's Internet-to-TV coaxial kit. That kit has been discontinued but it came with 2 adapters included; one connects to your modem or router and a nearby coaxial wall jack. You would plug the other adapter into a coaxial jack in the same room as your networkable device and connect it to your TV, Blu-ray player, or game console. The two adapters connect automatically, so there wouldn't be anyway for someone to tap-in to that connection unless they also had the same Channel Master adapter as well as access to your existing coaxial wiring. I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: The Channel Master networking pieces will definitely work with the Yamaha receiver. However, you need the CM6104 to begin with not just the CM6001. You can add additional rooms to the CM6104 using the CM6001. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. [ Krissy Apr 02, 2015 ] Staff
