The channel already has a prime coat, so it is ready for painting or wallpaper. A 1" foam paint brush is included. I also thought I'd be adding another piece of equipment that needed to have a cable to the back of my LCD wall-mounted TV. This fit the bill very well. I will be able to remove the wood since is screwed onto the wall and run the additional cabling, then replace the wood.
