not the best out there

The LG BH 100 is not the best dual player out there. Well technically it is, because it is the ONLY dual player available now. But beware! I had it briefly when it first came out in Feb 2007. The biggest problem is it does not support all the HD-DVD features, such as interactivity, special menus, etc. THe BH100 is simply a glorified Blu-Ray player that happens to play HD-DVDs, but not the way they were intended to be played. And with the introduction of the new Sony BDP300, you can get that unit and a Toshiba HD-DVD unit both together at less than what you would pay for the LG unit alone. So everyone, think about this before you rush to get the LG or if you can't spare the room for seperate HD-DVD/Blu-Ray players, wait until a dual unit is manufactured that supports all features of both formats.

Best solution out there

I've owned the LG BH100 for a couple of weeks now and have tested it on Onkyo's New TX-SR805 Dolby TrueHD HDMI Reciever. It is fast at loading, remote is VERY responsive and backlit, also upconverts great for DVD's. I really like the touch sensitive buttons, cool look. Performance is great; however I gave it a 4 star because:
-No CD's
-No HDMI 1.3
It will Decode Dolby True HD 5.1 internally and send it to the reciever as PCM MultiChannel, which is the same really, If it had HDMI 1.3 then my reciever would light up Dolby TrueHD and it would unpack and decode the audio to PCM multichannel, so I guess it is the same, but it would be nice if the reciever did everything since it is THX and the player is not. Over all this is a very nice player and a great solution for both formats.
