Bazooka Tube Features
Overview:
The BT1024DVC features a water-resistant poly enclosure that houses a
10" poly woofer with a foam
surround. The patented Bass
Tube enclosure design eliminates bass
standing waves for high accuracy, and superior efficiency.
Dual 4-ohm Voice Coils: This
tube features dual 4-ohm voice coils that offer flexibility in wiring. When the
voice coils are wired in parallel with each other, the tube presents a 2-ohm
mono load. When the voice coils are wired in series with each other, the tube
presents an 8-ohm mono load. In addition, each coil may be connected to a
different amplifier channel and each channel will see a 4-ohm load. Each coil can handle 250 watts RMS, so the combined power handling is 500 watts RMS.
5-Way Binding Posts: The 5-way
binding posts will accept bare wire, pin connectors, spade lugs, banana plugs,
and dual banana plugs.
Installation: Each
mounting strap has an attached mounting base that can be secured to your vehicle
using the supplied self-tapping screws. Once the mounting bases are installed,
the tube is held in place by the mounting straps. For best results, the tube
should be mounted facing into a corner, and there should be 2" to 4" between the
woofer and the corner into which the woofer is pointing.
Amplifier Features
CEA-2006 Compliant: CEA-2006 is
a new system of testing & measurement methods for mobile audio amplifiers. This
voluntary standard advocates a uniform method for determining an amplifier's RMS
power output and signal-to-noise ratio. The criteria for measuring power uses a
DC input voltage of 14.4 volts and the RMS power output is measured into a 4-ohm
load, with 1% or less Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) plus noise, and at a
frequency range of 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz; when applicable. Signal-to-Noise
ratio is measured in weighted absolute decibels (dBA) at a reference of 1 watt
into 4 ohms. CEA-2006 allows consumers to compare car amplifiers and receivers
on an equal basis. The Bazooka ELA1300 under CEA-2006 regulations is rated at
200 Watts RMS x 1 channel with a 90dBA signal to noise ratio.
Mono-Power Amp Design: The
Bazooka ELA1300 is designed with specific features to power your subwoofers
with a frequency range between 25 to 250 Hz. This amplifier is not designed to
power a full-range speaker.
2-Ohm Stable: The Bazooka mono-amplifier is capable of handling load impedances down to
2-ohm. The amplifier is rated at 375 Watts RMS x 1 channel in 2 ohms with a
maximum output of 500 Watt peak x 1 channel in 2 ohms.
Parallel Connection: The
amplifier is equipped with two pairs of silver-plated speaker terminals that are
connected in parallel internally for
easy multiple subwoofer connection.
Low-Pass Filter: The ELA1300 has a built-in
12dB/octave low-pass
filter that is continuously variable from 50Hz to 250Hz for precise low-pass
filtering. Instead of the low-pass filter you can also select Flat mode which
will use the full frequency capabilities of the amplifier, allowing the
amplifier to output a frequency range of 25Hz to 250Hz to your subwoofer or
subwoofers.
Bass Boost:
To enhance bass response the amplifier features a bass boost control. The bass boost is adjustable
at either 0dB, 6dB, or 12dB at a fixed 45Hz.
Subsonic Filter: This amp
features a 20Hz Subsonic Filter. Ultra-low frequencies that cannot be
reproduced by a subwoofer do not become sound but become unnecessary
oscillations, which affect sound by causing distortion. These frequencies also
waste amplifier power and can cause damage to speakers. Setting the Subsonic
filter switch to the "On" position cuts-out the frequencies below 20Hz to improve the reproduction performance of the speakers by eliminating
harmful distortion.
Phase Inverter: The amp has a
switch that allows you to invert the phase of the speaker output. You can select
0° or 180°.
Line Level Inputs: The RCA type line-level inputs have a gain (Input
Sensitivity) control. The
Input Sensitivity control will accept an input signal of 200mV to 5.0 Volts.
Speaker Level Input: The
ELA1300 also comes with a speaker level input harness. This feature makes it easier to add an
amplifier to a factory radio or to a receiver with no preamp outputs. The gain
control setting for the speaker-level input ranges from 1.0V to 10.0V.
Line Level Output: The amplifier has a set of line level
outputs for feeding a full-range stereo signal to another amplifier. It is the
same signal that is input through the line inputs. The amplifier's crossovers
have no effect on the line level output signal.
Optional Wired Remote: The
amplifier is compatible with Bazookas wired remote bass control module
(RBCM-100, sold separately). The
wired bass module has a single knob that remotely controls the amplifier's gain
setting, and adjusts the amount of bass your connected subwoofer will output.
The wired remote's cable is 16 feet 4 inches long and terminates in a stereo
mini-jack connector that plugs into the amplifier.
LED Indicators: The amplifier
features a Power and Protect LED indicator on the right-hand side of the
amplifier. When the power
is turned on to the amplifier, the Power indicator will light up green. This indicator
will turn off with the amplifier and will turn off if the amplifier goes into
protect mode. The Protect LED will illuminate red when the amp goes into protect
mode and turn off during normal operation.
Protection circuitry: The amplifier features protection circuits that will turn the amp off in case of
the following events to protect the amplifier and your speakers:
- DC Offset Protection: This
circuit protects the output of the amplifier against DC voltage. If for some
reason DC voltage is detect at the output stage, amplifier will shut down
protecting the speakers from direct current.
- Short Circuit Protection:
The circuit protects the amplifier from damage due to a short found in the
speakers or wiring. If one of the speakers or its wiring comes in contact
with ground, the amplifier will shut down. To resume normal operation,
correct the problem and turn the head unit off, then back on. The amplifier
will reset and play again.
- Thermal Protection: To
protect the amplifier circuitry against damage caused by prolonged exposure
to high temperatures, a thermal protection circuit is activated if the
amplifier reaches excessively high operating temperature. Once the thermal
circuit is activated, the amplifier will shut down to cool off. The
amplifier will automatically turn back on once it cools down to a safe
operating temperature.
Cooling System: The amplifier
features an aluminum extruded heat sink and a built-in fan to help keep the
amplifier cool during operation. The amplifier is also compatible with Bazooka's
optional C.H.I.L. system.
