This two-conductor in-wall speaker cable from AudioQuest boasts an advanced, high-performance design for impressively detailed sound. It features 19 precisely arranged, tightly packed strands in each conductor for excellent signal transfer and low distortion. Plus, twisted pair construction minimizes radio frequency and electromagnetic interference for clear, noise-free sound, even over longer runs.
AudioQuest includes sequential footage markers on the cable jacket to simplify measuring. Directional arrows tell you which way the signal should flow through the cable for the best sound.
When you're running wire inside your walls, it's important that you use speaker cable that's approved for in-wall runs. This cable's CL3 certification means it passed safety tests administered by the Underwriters Laboratory (UL). The UL looks at heat generated from current flowing through wire, how quickly the cable will catch and spread fire when exposed to flame, and the wire's susceptibility to damage from external stresses. Also, be sure to check your local building and fire code and buy wire accordingly.
High quality speaker cable.
Pros: Easy to work with. Outstanding sound quality.
Excellent quality, great customer service!
Pros: Amazingly quick delivery, easy website
This cable is great. It is strong, sturdy, and seemed very robust. I had to pull my baseboards in order to run the cable behind them along with going through the wall to get the clean look I wanted. I also had to pull the molding off around a sliding glass door and run the cable in a channel between the door and drywall. The cable felt robust and up to the task. The cable is considerably thicker than competitors of the same gauge, which created challenges in fitting the cable in the space I had. I had to cave out some dryall behind the baseboards and trim off wood on the backside of the baseboards in order to get everything back in place. The cost of the cable is also a lot more expensive than the in-wall options I found in Home Depot and Lowes. This, however, is a job I wanted to do once, and do it the right way, which is why I used Audio Quest. In the end, I have been real happy with the result!
Pros: great quality cable, and great signal transfer
Cons: expensive, large diameter compared to competitors
Great wire for burial purposes and long runs
Pros: Heavy duty should stand up to weather no problem
Foot markers make it easy to get the same length when installing. Pulls easy through tight spots
Pros: Excellent quality
Used this line to run my outside speakers. Works great and would buy again.
Pros: Quality and easy to pull
Used this speaker wire exclusively when setting up home theater and outside speakers...in wall and above dropped ceiling. Works as advertised, good product.
Great cable - pulls easily.
Very satisfied glad i went with the thicker wire even though a bit more.
Pros: ease of use
Great wire, think copper strands unlike competitors.
Prepping for a 7.1 movie room that would be built up as the budget allows. From the studs out, wanted an in-wall installation of all wires. AudioQuest product is beefy yet easy to pull through holes and around duct work. Very happy I opted for 14 guage, a little more, but no matter what speaker/receiver combo I put in, this wire will handle it.
Pros: easy to install spooled wire
I ran these wires 100 feet to supply two Definitive 5.5 speakers. There getting a lot of power from them with no distortion. The wire is easy to work with and very easy to pull. I've priced other wire as well and this is the best value I could find anywhere.
Pros: It's a good felling to have safe reliable wires running in the attic and through the walls.
Cons: Need to do a little work for long runs. Same goes for anything else.
Had to send it back as it didn't arrive to fit my scheulde, but just like any return with Crutchfield, I couldn't believe the quick response and how quickly, less than 24 hours after they received the return my funds were returned. I can't recommend a better online company for all your electronic needs.
When installing a quality home sound system it does make sense to use inferior cable. AudioQuest cable which is specifically designed to carry audio signals works great. I also like the fact that they have both 2 conductor and 4 conductor cable available.
Wire is excellent to work with. Remodeling a home I bought, had house gutted to studs perfect time to wire the house for surround sound, Used it for my Bose Lifestyle system.
Very strong , colored red and black
Cons: Little hard to bend.
I pulled 475 feet of this wire in the new house we are building. We are using closed cell foam insulation so we had to get it right before the insulation crew arrived. Several of the runs we're long distances and the spool fed nicely - I was doing this solo. Quality of wire and jacket is terrific and the increments indicated help too.
Pros: Makes the job as easy as possible
Cons: Not cheap, but worthwhile as a long term investment in my opinion.
I bought this cable to run from my Yamaha receiver 50' to each speaker in a billiard room through finished walls. The thick cable jacket on this product allows for that extremely easier. Using a 25' fish tape, the cable was easily pulled through the wall and the jacket protected the inner copper.
Great quality cable ... and so easy to run. Can't go wrong with AudioQuest!
Pros: High quality, easy to run cable. Foot marking on the jacket makes measuring out super easy.
Pulled for outdoor speakers great wire
Pros: Pulls very easy, very durable
Cons: I had know idea about the direction arrows to show flow of current
excellent product. Will eventually hide behind baseboard or in crawl space
Pros: can be used inwall, behind baseboard, exposed or hidden. Much better than simple speaker wire that can't be hidden for less cost than comparable speaker wire that can't be hidden.
Cons: none obvious
Wired my whole house...love it! This is a repeat purchase for me, I'm running 4 sets of Klipsh speakers and they all sound GREAT!
Pros: directional arrows, remaining feet on the roll printed on the wire
Cons: font size is small
I purchased a 250 foot spool to wire indoor and oudoor speakers for an addition. It came well packeaged and appears to be high quality. The wire was easy to run especially since my walls are not finished, I have not connected them to speakers yet so I can't comment on sound. I hope it is good because they will be buried in the walls.
Pros: directional arrows, remaining feet on the roll printed on the wire.
Audio Quest wire is top notch. High quality wire jacket makes it easy to rout through the walls with limited concerns about interference from electrical wires. Wire is semi solid allowing easy connections for AV and speakers.
Pros: Packaging, semi rigid wire, and high quality wire
Cons: Arrows on the jacking showing directional path need to be bigger.
Would buy again.
Pulls easy and I really like the foot markers. Made it easy to get the same length when installing ceiling speakers.
Pros: Excellent quality
I used this product for in-wall install for a 5.1 indoor theater in our bonus room and a 2.0 install of outdoor speakers on our back deck. The product was easy to use, slick enough for a +25' pull through a knee-wall area, two different attic spaces and around some tight areas. It was flexible enough to pull around those tight areas, but rigid enough to not bend up like regular wire. Additionally, the spool was well-constructed and did not fall apart like a cardboard spool sometimes will. The outer insulation coating survived the pulls with no damage, though when stripping, I had an issue with going through the inner insulation to the raw wire. I recommend using just the point of a razor knife to barely score the coating, then bending the cable to cause the outer insulation to tear along the score. I used a Vise Grip self-adjusting wire stripper (best stripper I have found) for the inner insulation, which gives a perfect, measured stripped section of wire every time. http://www.irwin.com/tools/pliers-adjustable-wrenches/self-adjusting-wire-stripper
Pros: Easy to run, slick outer coating, quality solid spool, rigid with sufficient flexibility, good sound transmission
Cons: Inner insulation prone to cutting when stripping outer insulation
Using AudioQuest speaker cable with Onkyo receiver and Polk Atrium 6 speakers. Very noticeable difference in sound quality and bass performance using this cable.
Pros: Quality of product is excellent. Very easy to pull. As always Crutchfield provided a very easy process for ordering and speedy delivery.
Great Speaker Wires, easy to pull/install!
Pros: Easy to pull through walls, great sound, no worries about using outdoors
Cons: Little pricey, but worth it if you like to do things right!
I found the product extremely durable and well shipped. I also found that the product came with arrows pointing in one direction. This created quite a debate among us installing it. However after some tech research we found the arrows to go from the receiver to the speakers. We really are going to enjoy this wire for years to come no matter what speakers will be in place.
Pros: Well shipped, easy install and durable
Cons: the arrow should come with a small label stating from power source to speaker. It was fun laughing about the whole thing.
Great quality cable ran 350' for my new construction home can't wait to finish and get the speakers installed and enjoy the fruits of my labor
Good , quality speaker wire, I just ran out of it
According some test review this speaker cable best & cheap and I prove it Tnx Audioquest
Pros: Good clear sound with my length about 30 feet
First time I've ever used this wiring. It worked great for the application I was involved with. It's the right gauge for the outdoor speakers I'm installing and it went very well. The sound from the speakers is very crisp and clear and I'm certain the wiring is part of that.
Pros: Very easy packaging to work with, rolls out well, easy to work with.
Cons: Wish it came in black.
Great wire! The best I could find
Pros: Worth the cost if you're buying good stuff
Cons: Price but worth it
Speaker wire that makes a difference. I used this wire to connect my receiver from a another room to the in-ceiling speakers in the kitchen. The extra gauge wire (14 AWG) was worth the extra money. Before, the sound was sort of muddy, but now it is crisp and has more clarity.
Pros: Flexible and heavy jacket makes it easy to pull the wires through conduit and walls.
Cons: A bit pricey.
Great high quality wire. Nice smooth round jacket make pulling a breeze.
Pros: Round jacket regardless of conductor count
Product was very easy to install ; the amount of flexibliity was a pleasant surprise. Appears to be a well made product.
Pros: Very flexible.and well made.
My contractor building the basement wanted me to order the cable prior to the county electrical inspection. So, I ordered this cable from Crutchfield and he pulled it. All the electrical work passed, including the cable for surround sound. I haven't tested the sound yet but I think it's worth mentioning that the cable is high quality that you don't have to worry about the safety of it, especially in the walls. Can't wait to test out the surround sound once the basement is all done.
Pros: Great quality cable and passed electrical inspection for in-wall/in-ceiling speakers.
Great cable. A little pricey, but you get what you pay for.
We've only installed the cable, not 'used' it yet, but I will say that it pulled through the walls/studs etc. very easily and I found the feet-remaining marks on the cable remaining on the reel extremely useful. It told me if I could make the next run of cable work or not...
Very high quality cable for in-wall installation. Woth the price for in-wall cable.
Very high quality cable for in-wall installation. Cable pulls smoothly through through the wall cavity. Excellent construction and clean sound on my system. Thanks Crutchfield for carrying a great product at a fair price.
Pros: Ease of pulling through wall cavities. High quality construction.
Excellent product and price.
Sturdy speaker cable and provides good audio signal.
Excellent speaker wire in terms of features and economy. Provides for excellent audio signal transmission.
good cable. easy to strip as needed. great sound
There isn't much to tell accept it's great wire! Very smooth and easy to pull through walls. It doesn't kink up and it's very well made.
Pros: Great construction.
I selected the AudioQuest FLX-14/2 for my home theater wiring and it really rocks. My room is 25X20 and this wire did the job. Remember that it is on the pricey side. Use banana clips for best performance.
A little stiff which made it difficult to manipulate through tight spaces in the wall.
Great Product, Deliveried Very Fast
Absolutely great product and worth every penny! Have used lesser wire with other guys and went to wire my house so I got a roll to try and wow! Strong case, smooth and slick. I trust this in my walls for the next 50 years both for the safety and the sound. I spent a fortune on this wire, wired the whole house, and was glad to pay it. Kept calling back for more and adding additional rooms since I had the confidence it would work indefinitely. Everyone including electrician and contractor ranted about how good it is...
Best way to go for top quality sound.
Got this to run out to my patio for Polk Atrium 45s as a 2nd zone from Denon . 2808CI thru an old Yamaha receiver. Speakers are mounted on mailbox posts . at corners of the patio, so fully exposed to elements. Had originally just run . some Monster XP out there, so knew I needed to improve on that. Was easier . to work with than I expected, and improved the sound depth significantly, . brought the Polks back to life. Unrolled it for a couple of days on basement . floor to reduce the coiling.
Great quality cable for the price. I like the fact that the cable has foot markers and directional
flow. The build quality is much better than the Monster Cable's comparable in-wall wires.
Thanks Crutchfield for the fast shipping.
I think Audioquest has some of the best audio/video cables out there and even
when I'm not a real audiophile, I can tell the difference in sound
coming from cheap, stock cables and good cables and interconnects from
good brands. The good thing is that Audioquest has products suitable
for people that can't afford a 1k interconnect. I used this product to bi-wire
some speakers and even when it 's optimized for an in-wall application, I used
it as regular speaker cable, just adding banana connectors in one end and the
bare cable on the speaker side. The sound was great and is a very good quality
wire. I went with the 14 AWG wire over the 16 AWG for obvious reasons and it's
very easy to work and terminate the wire. One thing that surprised me is how the
guys at Crutchfield protected the cable when they shipped it to me, there was like 5
levels of protection, it took me like 3 minutes to see what I had just bought. Price
was great, I really needed the cable and I went with the ad to BBuy and they
didn't match the price of the same product, so I had to order from Crutchfield
on line, I had to wait a few more days but it's worth it, they shipped it very
quick and for a very reasonable price. Next time you want to buy something
compare, don't rush. Good job Crutchfield , great product.
Prewired my basement before I finished it off. Really liked the wire, very sturdy and
durable. Liked the markings every foot to let you know how much wire you used.
This product worked well. I wired several rooms for Bose jewel cube speakers. I had to
fish the wire up from the basement into first floor walls and that has fairly easy. The wire
on the smallish spool (125') took a little while to "relax" but was easy to pull. The gauge
was probably a little big for my application as I ran six lines to the terminal location and it
is a little snug going up into the wall from the basement.
Once again, Crutchfield does it again! Awesome service and Excellent product! My
installer was very impressed with the quality of the wire.
Purchased this speaker wire for use in a home project - running speaker wire from
inside the house to the ouside covered patio. Was wire thick enough to run up the
indise of the walls without too many issues (bending). Easy to hook-up into speakers
an stereo. Would purchase again.
Very happy with this purchase, would recommend to anyone who wants very good quality sound at a reasonable price.
Bought the Monster CRS142rcl-80 and Audioquest flxx14/2 as CF didn't have enough of the Monster which I thought I liked better. Upon receipt and inspection of each, the quality of the Audio Quest product for product price for price is superior.. You're paying for the Monster name in many cases if it comes down to just speaker wire..
As a retired electrician I can really appreciate well made, quality wiring. I have never seen anything like it (ie: the way the copper strands are concentrically wrapped around each other). Seems to perform flawlessly with no noise, and pulled easily thru the walls.
My only negatives were #1- outside jacket is cream colored and does not look good coming out of a pure white ceiling, & #2- the cable is wrapped way to tightly on the small reel, so you get curly-cues- especially at the end. It would be better packaged as a 1 foot diameter "loop", & get rid of the small reel.
I highly reccomend this product, but next time I would take it off the reel and let it "relax" on the garage floor for a week before installing.
Overview: The FLX-DB14/2 in-wall speaker cable has two 14 guage conductors to supply wiring for one speaker. Using Semi-Solid packing, the individual copper strands within the bundle don't change position, resulting in reduced distortion. The long grain structure in the low distortion, oxygen free, high-conductivity copper AudioQuest uses results in a natural sound, uncolored by the cable. The Star-Quad geometry lowers cable inductance, reducing susceptibility to external noise sources.

the outside diameter is approximately 5/16" [ JAMES May 29, 2014 ]
5/16 of an inch. Just over a quarter of an inch. The wire by the way is fantastic. The shielding makes it great, and the wire was a breeze to navigate through any hole I put in my studs and floor joists. I would recommend this product to anyone. They wire houses with 14/3, for electricity, so for audio wire this is a great product. Depending on how much you want to spend and the amount you have to run it may seem pricey. But you're only going to do it once! You will not regret the purchase. [ THOMAS J May 29, 2014 ]
The only thing you have to pay attention to is make sure you match the colors on each terminal end. [ TRAVIS Dec 24, 2014 ]
Towards the speaker, or the flow of electrons. Think often sounds being produced by your receiver as "cars" traveling down a road to their destination- your speakers. The strands are aligned to maximize the "traffic" flow so as to be as effective as possible. [ BIIL Dec 24, 2014 ]
Thanks Michael B.... Happy Holidays! [ Alan Dec 24, 2014 ]
It honestly doesn't matter, but normally the signal flow from the receiver to the speaker is the direction the arrow should be. Usually with high end cables they put that on there. The cable will work either direction as long as it's good 12 or 14 gauge. Hope that helps. [ ADAM Dec 24, 2014 ]

It should say it on the box. The arrows should point towards the speaker. [ Tim Dec 24, 2014 ]
Alan, the arrows point in the direction of the signal, and the signal obviously transmits from the amplifier. So the arrows point to the speaker. [ Michael Dec 24, 2014 ]
