Durable in-wall- and direct burial-rated speaker wire

When you're running wire inside your walls or underground, it's important that you use speaker cable that's approved for that purpose. This cable's CL3 certification means it passed safety tests administered by the Underwriters Laboratory (UL) for in-wall usage. AudioQuest's FLX cables are also rated for direct burial. You can run FLX cables to your outdoor speakers and bury them in the ground without a protective conduit.

I bought this speaker wire for use with a Yamaha receiver and Bose outdoor speakers. It is shielded nicely and the sound it delivers is crisp and clean. I would purchase this item again.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The beauty of purchases from Crutchfield is that you are purchasing the correct product for the outcome you are seeking. If one is placing speaker wire in a wall, it should meet the building codes that were created to protect you. This wire performs that function. Since I am not a builder, I did not know that information. Fortunately Crutchfield did.

Pros: What can one say about the 29th element in the periodic table. It conducts electricity.

Cons: None

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Wiring was fairly easy to work with. The insulation coat was way too heavy which made uncoiling and straightening a bit tricky. Wire would be better suited for amore industrial use and less for a home use. Over all though did the job and is a good quality wire.

Pros: good quality wire.

Cons: Insulating sheath too heavy for small jobs and home installation.

Well constructed wire and safe for home applications. Easy to route and pulling. I'm running 2 Bowers and Wilkins in ceiling speakers off of it. Even though I over ran it's capacity by 30 feet there's great sound with no distortions or loss of power.

Pros: Flexible and easy to install. Easy to prepare for hook up.

Cons: If you're installing wire yourself it does take some work getting it off the 250' spool.

Top-Notch Speaker Wire

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

For most, it's probably a little difficult to get excited about speaker wire. However, the more I learned, the more impressed I was with AudioQuest. From the thoughtful labeling (1-foot markers and "signal direction") to the quality of the copper to the finished product... it was impressive. All this started with my need to run speaker cable through my HOT attic so my new SONOS Connect:AMP could power my outdoor speakers. With some advice from Crutchfield, I settled on this AudioQuest cable... and I'm glad I did. Very high quality.

Pros: quality

Cons: none

Pros: Wire was marked with the footage starting with the full length and counted down as I used it, this was very helpful in planning my runs of wire.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Recently installed in my daughter's house before the drywall was installed. No problems, easy to work with. Easy to pull if you can cut your holes before any drywall installation. 16Ga is smaller than I thought and one of the runs is about 25 feet. For the price diff. I should have gotten the 14 AWG. Have not attached to speakers (Def Tech in wall 6.5" CLR).

Features

Overview: The FLX-DB16/2 in-wall speaker cable has two 16 gauge conductors to supply wiring for one speaker. Using Semi-Solid packing, the individual copper strands within the bundle don't change position, resulting in reduced distortion. The long grain structure in the low distortion, oxygen free, high-conductivity copper AudioQuest uses results in a natural sound, uncolored by the cable. The Star-Quad geometry lowers cable inductance, reducing susceptibility to external noise sources.
