If you want to take advantage of the very latest technologies, you'll need an advanced HDMI cable like the AudioQuest Forest. It's rated "High Speed with Ethernet," so it can carry the highest-resolution video available — all the way up to 4K at 60 frames per second. Connecting your components with AQ Forest is a great way to prepare your system for the most cutting-edge features available today, as well as what's on the way.
Forest is one of AudioQuest's most affordable HDMI cables, but it's made with premium materials throughout to maximize the crystal-clear picture and sound quality available from the latest high-definition digital sources. AudioQuest HDMI cables are designed to carry 100% of the data required for all of HDMI's current audio/video features including 1080p and 4K video, HDR, and multichannel high-resolution audio.
AudioQuest Forest is fully backward-compatible with HDMI 1.3 and earlier cables. Bit Error Rate testing ensures that every cable passes signals as accurately as possible.
AudioQuest is known for their superior build quality, and these Forest HDMI cables are a perfect example. They use high-purity copper, solid-core conductors plated with a very thin layer of silver. High-frequency HDMI audio and video signals travel almost exclusively on the surface of the conductors. As the surface is made of high-purity silver, the performance is very close to that of a solid silver cable, but priced much closer to solid copper cable. It's a smart, cost-effective way to build a very high-performance HDMI cable.

Pros: solid build ,long cable, fair price
This cable really does what AudioQuest says it will. The sound is so much better, and the video looks more translucent.
Pros: Better sound & video.
I ordered a new 4K tv but this cable came before the tv so I replaced my Monster HDMI with this one from direct tv to my older LED Sony Tv. I noticed an obvious difference in picture quality immediately. I almost cancelled the tv order, but I didn't cuz the old tv is going into my man cave.
Pros: Outstanding picture quality.
This was my first Crutchfield order and it went great. Their support is excellent. I received this cable promptly as promised. The quality of workmanship was excellent, plus they worked as advertised. I have a beautiful picture using this 3 ft Forest cable connecting my STB with my new Samsung 55 inch TV.
Pros: Good workmanship and appearance. Great signal transmission.
Cons: A little expensive.
Just picked up a Sharp 70" 4K from crutchfield and also a 2m Audioquest Forest HDMI cable. These are a step up from the Pearl as it has silver conductors. Works great to connect my Oppo bluray and DISH satellite box.
Definitely has a better picture going from my cable box to my new sony tv. Was using a 1.2hdmi cable before.
Great quality, produces a great picture from my Blue ray player.
Definably difference in picture and sound quality from stock cable that came with sound bar speaker
Pros: Reasonable price and sound and picture quality
great value for the price, did improve new samsung led performance over direct tv,s cables
Pros: value for dollar
This really makes the picture look much better. Just wish I had ordered a longer cord.
Video cut out or black screen with audio.
Pros: Well made.
Cons: Did not meet expectations. Replaced and solved issue.
These were a great upgrade from my old ones. One from my cable box to my A/V .One from my A/V to my Blue Ray DVD and one from my A/V to my Sharp television.
Pros: Really improved the sound thru my Polk Audio speakers.( Have a 7.1 system with a Velodyne Sub.) The colors are so much brighter & the details are so much clearer. Also using a Denon Amp.. The separation thru my speakers is awesome !!
Cons: Nothing!! Just enjoying my system much better.!!
Nice quality HDMI cable - delivers good performance at reasonable price.
Bought the cable to watch 3D and HD movies. Owned for over 4- yrs and have had zero issues.
Pros: The product
Just another hdmi cable
Cons: Slightly over price
a good quality product ...I have no complaints with this item.
Pros: good product good prices
Cons: I wish I had got a longer cable.
I was using a no-name set of cables, trying to save a buck. Picture and sound were good, but i wanted to see if I could get more from a better cable. With Crutchfield's liberal return policy, I decided to give these cables a test drive. Smart move! My picture DID get better. Sharper, better contrast, more enjoyable. Sound picked up a little bass. If you spend the time and money to set up a home system, don't skimp on the cables!
Pros: Solid, clean cable.
Audioquest delivers The Quailty In All There Products! All I Can Say Another Winner, And Crutchfield Is Always A Winner!
I bought the 2m HDMI by AudioQuest in Forest to go with my Panasonic Viera TCP50GT30 television. I learned my lesson years back by using the supplied cable and getting a snowy picture. I bought quality cables and the snow vanished. From that point on I only use quality cables!
Pros: Quality cable! HDMI in Forest Green.
Cons: Not in purple!
First use old cable that was already plugged to back of set and watched a movie, then replaced with the Audio Quest. We could notice the improved picture immediately
Pros: Improved picture quality
. Did not know what HDMI cable to purchase with my new TV. The staff at crutchfield are very helpful and recommended this one. I can always count on them to give me the right advice. VERY PLEASED
High quality cables provide EVERYTHING you need to hook-up your A/V gear. I'm set for a while because these cables are the latest and greatest for a reasonable price compared to the competition. Very satisfied with all Crutchfield does before and after the sale.
So far, cables work fine, but I honestly don't see or hear a difference from the cables that I was using previously (which were about HALF as much).
I am no expert or a young savy techie, but I am very happy with the improvement of sound and image.
Solid 0.5% Silver Conductors: Solid conductors eliminate strand-interaction distortion and reduce jitter. Solid silver-plated conductors are excellent for very high-frequency applications, like HDMI audio and video. These signals, being such a high frequency, travel almost exclusively on the surface of the conductor. As the surface is made of high-purity silver, the performance is very close to that of a solid silver cable, but priced much closer to solid copper cable.
Foamed-Polyethylene Insulation: Any solid material adjacent to a conductor is actually part of an imperfect circuit. Wire insulation and circuit board materials all absorb energy (loss). Some of this energy is stored and then released as distortion. Forest HDMI uses air-filled Foamed-Polyethylene Insulation because air absorbs next to no energy and Polyethylene is low-loss and has a benign distortion profile. Thanks to all the air in Foamed-PE, it causes much less of the out-of-focus effect common to other materials.
High Speed Data Capacity: All AudioQuest HDMI cables up to 10 meters (32.8') meet or exceed the 10.2 Gbps maximum data rate for HDMI and are approved High Speed cables. This means that all AudioQuest cables up to 10 meters are capable of transmitting 100% of the data required for all of HDMI's current audio/video features including multichannel high-resolution audio, 1080p and 4k video, and 3D video from Blu-ray. All AQ HDMI cables will deliver 100% of the data required for 120Hz/240Hz/600Hz displays.
Note: AudioQuest HDMI cables which are 12 meters (39.3') to 20 meters (65.6') are Standard Speed with support for up to 1080p (not 4k).
HDMI 2.0: All AudioQuest High Speed HDMI cables (up to 10 meters) are capable of transmitting 18 Gbps signals, including 4K@60p and 4K 3D, when used with HDMI 2.0 electronics.
ARC & Ethernet Enabled: AQ's HDMI cable supports ARC (Audio Return Channel) which allows an HDMI-connected TV with a built-in tuner to send audio data "upstream" to a surround audio system, eliminating the need for a separate audio cable. The AQ HDMI cable also adds high-speed networking to it HDMI link, allowing you to take full advantage of your IP-enabled devices without a separate Ethernet cable.
Gold-Plated Connectors: The Audioquest HDMI cable features gold-plated HDMI standard size (Type-A) connectors for maximum signal transfer.
Directionality:All AQ HDMI cables are directional. The correct direction is determined by listening to every batch of metal conductors used in every AudioQuest HDMI cable. All signal conductors controlled for digital-audio direction in AudioQuest HDMI cables, and care is even taken to run the conductors used in the Audio Return Channel in the opposite direction to ensure the best performance for that application. Arrows are clearly marked on the connectors to ensure superior sound quality.
In-Wall Rated: The Audioquest Forest HDMI cable is CMG/FT4 rated for in-wall installation.

I felt I needed an upgraded HDMI cable to get best results from my new Sony BDP-S7200 blu-ray player with high resolution audio. However, I did not want to get to carried away and buy very expensive top of the line HDMI cable. I will see what kind of improvement this provides. [ Jimmye Apr 03, 2016 ]
