Low-grade speaker wire can often be a weak link in a home theater system. Upgrade to AudioQuest's G2 speaker cable and make sure that your speakers are getting the cleanest, most accurate signal possible.
AudioQuest's cable designs come from years of in-house research and careful engineering. Their G2 speaker cables use a special concentric arrangement that keeps the bundled strands in the same position throughout the length of the cable. The signal encounters less potentially damaging interactions and shifts in magnetic environment, resulting in sound that's clearer and more dynamic. Conductors made of long-grain copper ensure efficient signal transfer with minimal loss.

The cable is working well!
Pros: ITS Cable and work well
Seems to work fine, but is hard to compare. Better built than other cables with funny "cool" names; it has no plastic rod infill like others, all cooper wire.
Pros: Built quality.
Cons: Price and color.
When determining how to optimize sonic clarity originating from my new top-of-the-line receiver and CD Player and emanating from my existing studio monitors, I gladly accepted Crutchfield's recommendation to purchase Audioquest G2 speaker cable. While the cable's 16-gauge wire and supple sheathing made installation a breeze, the improved clarity of sound was instantly apparent. For the first time the distinct sound of harpsichord plectra and gentle clacking of tracker pipe organ mechanicals could be heard - particularly at low to medium volume. Now, there is no weak link in my state of the art music system!
I originally wanted a pair of AudioQ Type 4's for my speakers, but they are so old they don't have banana connections. So, I reluctantly ordered some G2 instead. I must say I have been very impressed. Like many of the reviews say, the cable was easy to strip and work with. Once stripped you notice the quality of the copper you are dealing with. I easily attached a couple of spade connectors to the speaker end, and a couple of bananas for the other end to run into my receiver. While the cables haven't truly been broken in yet, everything still sounds great! If you have some vintage gear, I'd strongly recommend upgrading with the G2!
Perfect cables for Audio System at the wright price, don't spend more.
Pros: Good Cables
Good easy to use speaker wire. Cut easy, split easy and stripped as easy as wire ever does.
Pros: Good, easy to use.
Early impressions very good. Time will tell, but these were easy to work with and there are no sound problems.
I bought some new speakers, I figured what better time to upgrade to a better speaker wire. I already had some decent wire, and I used this for the first time on brand new speakers that I had never listened to, So hard to say about any sound improvement. But I like the white color, blends in better. and the sound is great from the new speakers. Very crisp and clean.
Pros: Not a bad price for some great wire
These speaker cables are some of the best & most expensive. Use the monster bananna plugs forconnection.
Pros: make your sound awesome
Nice cable. Easy to rout. Flexible.
Pros: Low price
Good price superior product
These are high quality speaker cables. The white is a nice choice for hiding the wire along white baseboards. Easy to install with small finish nails down center channel of the insulated area.
I needed some 16ga wire to replace internal speaker wires and this was one of the most cost effective options for higher purity copper. The nickel plated steel binding posts had to go in the trash where they belong and there would be little point reconnecting the new posts with the zip cord that was previously used. I won't argue that such a short run of slightly lower quality wire makes a significant difference but the galvanized steel clip probably didn't help. Since I was already in there, it made sense to do it right (copper wire, silver solder, copper posts). Crutchfield had one of the best prices, free shipping, and quickly delivered the product to me in under a week.
Pros: Decent price for higher quality copper wiring.
Cons: Made in China
Hard to believe the dramatic sound improvement after installing this speaker cable. So clean and clear. Makes the music sparkle
Pros: All positive
Very good cables. High quality. The individual copper wires are thicker and hard to bend than some others that were less expensive. Sound quality is good.
These speaker cables gave new life to my ten year old B&W 603 S3 speakers after switching from run of the mill cables!
Pros: easy installation
Fantastic cables and very pleased over my past use of Monster Cable !!!
Pros: Great wire for system and was pleased that i purchased the cable with my new spearers !!!
Ordered the white cable and was expecting the "red stripe" as advertised to aid in identifying the polarity...well, no red stripe so had to mark each end with a Sharpie. Next, I was expecting to see the "concentric arrangement" of the copper wire when I stripped off the plastic casing....well no concentric arrangement. The copper wire frayed out just like any other cable, except for the 29 year old Monster Cable I purchased this cable to replace. Frankly, prefer the quality of my 29 year old Monster Cable and would return this product if I hadn't already split and marked.
Pros: None that I can offer other than price for 30 ft. did not seem unreasonable.
Cons: Was expecting some value for the money.
Great cable for my bookshelf speakers, improves sound quality over "M" cable I had.
These speaker cables were perfect for my job, couldn't have been better.
Pros: thickness and ease of working with.
Now that I have used this cable, will not go back to the Monster Brand. I used the cable to feed my two newly installed rear in ceiling speakers. It is a better made cable with the thicker cooper strands, that makes a dramatic difference in the sound quality. Will be uprading all my spaeker cables to the audio quest brand.
High quality wire and a great price!
Pros: High Quality
This is an affordable speaker cable but don't be misguided by its low price, it is quality cable. I used to use cheap speaker cable in most of my speaker connections. Once I bought the original monster cable but did not hear much of a sound improvement. I purchased this cable together with the monster flex pin gold plated connectors and the sound improvement is amazing. I can now hear sounds in my music I've never heard before. I strongly recommend this cables as an upgrade to any one who has regular speaker cables. You will not regret it.
Pros: Affordable, quality speaker cable, improves sound quality of your system.
great wire, great price. quality.
excellent cable.when matched with high quality components
Pros: excellent cable
I've just put together my first "higher-end" home system after dabbling in car audio for over a decade. I had a Marantz 1060 fully restored and built a pair of monitor sized speakers on stands. I like to do a lot of research on whatever I buy, and read that "high quality cables" make a difference. So I picked up some AudioQuest "evergreen" series for signal from my TV to amp and 3.5mm headphone jack to amp. After more research, I found what I've been calling "RCA's" are really referred to as "interconnects" and that "cables" are actually speaker wire. I had purchased "Home Wired" 12 gauge speaker wire "cables" to connect my amp to my speakers. Thinking 12 gauge was super thick, and each run was only 8ft. After more research, I found 2 camps on the internet- one saying speaker wire is speaker wire, it's just copper, so get thick stuff and you'll be fine. Another camp said cables made a "massive difference." I decided to give the lower end G2 cables a try, thinking that it would be a great (low cost experiment) for $40. Long story short, the G2 did indeed make a "massive" difference. I even did A/B testing with the old wire, skeptical of improvement. It's best described as; these cables make it sound like there was a stack of pillows in front of your speakers before. Did everything sound great before? Yes. But I would say the sound is far less "muffled" and much more "detailed." Measurable differences include: I had to re adjust my treble settings down 40% from before.
Pros: -16 gauge G2 sounds MUCH better than 12 gauge generic speaker wire - Highs are more detailed - Mids are more separated - Bass is cleaner - I can only imagine what the "type 4's" sound like - $40 isn't really much more than generic wire, I'd say it's cheap
Once I straightened out the cable it was easy to fit in with my speaker locations. The darker color blended with the room. The sound was an upgrade from the older Monster cable. I plan to use it again in another room.
Pros: dark gray color, vg sound
Cons: none, other than having to remove the curls from the spool, all of 15 min for 50'.
Probably best speaker available. Just used it to replace older cable between a high quality amplifier/tuner and speakers.
Pros: Heavy-duty insulation on wires and yet easy to strip insulation from ends.
Great quality , Easy hook up, n yes I do notice a difference in the sound
Recommended by the Crutchfield folks for use with a recently purchased MArantz SA8004 CD player and Focal Power Bird speakers - an already awesome system was improved. Thanks for the tip!
I specifically purchased this item because I was interested in the polarity feature which is displayed in advertising this cable. All the advertising clearly shows one of the cables marked in red so that polarity can be clearly identified. However, the cable I received had no such marking, therefore I was greatly disappointed. The cable is adequate and seems strong. I can't understand how the pictured illustration shows the marked polarity on the cable, yet mine had none.
Pros: Cable is strong and firm.
Cons: Polarity is not clearly marked on cable
I am very pleased with this cable and it is quality shows even before it's connected. I am using it to connect my Cambridge Audio Azur 650R receiver to my 651BD blueray and I will say that the sound is great.
Pros: A high quality speaker cable.
I moved a while back, and left behind my good-quality speaker wire which was built in to the wall. I then bought speaker wire from well-known electronic chain. However, recently my speakers had been sounding very poorly, and I was thinking of replacing them (I thought they might have been damaged in the move), but I decided to try new wire first. When I removed the old cable, I noticed corrosion and that the small wires inside had started falling apart. When I stripped the insulation off the Audioquest wire, I immediately noticed a difference, even from when the chain-store wires were new. The Audioquest cable, like the other cables, are composed of a bundle of smaller wires inside a thick insulation. The internal wires in the Audioquest cable are organized and lie together so that it is easy to attach them to the contact. The chain-store wires were always kind of a mess. Also, the overall quality of the materials in the Audioquest cable looks and feels much higher. And the best part--my system--an Onkyo amp and pre-amp, and high-end speakers-- sounds great again!
Overview: This package contains a 30-foot length of Audioquest G2 speaker cable. This 16-gauge wire comes in an off-white PVC jacket. The speaker wire is unterminated, allowing you to add your own optional connectors. The jacket features a stripe along one conductor to help you make the proper connections.
Design: Audioquest G2 speaker cable features Semi-Solid concentric packing. In conventional multi-strand speaker wire, strands can change position within the bundle. Electrical and magnetic interaction are compounded as each strand changes position, causing distortion. Audioquest's Semi-Solid concentric packing, the long-grain copper strands within the smaller, tighter concentric bundle do not change position, significantly reducing distortion.

I am not an expert, but I would think so. If you are going from a head unit to speakers, than you shouldn't be pushing a lot of wattage, and if you are going from an amp to speakers, as long as the distance is not too long (under 5 feet), then you should not need a heavy gauge cable. [ FRED May 12, 2014 ]
Yes, i have it hooked up to a couple of subs using banana connectors while trying different hookup configurations. works just fine. little bulky for hiding under trim if your limited on room [ JOHN May 10, 2014 ]
