Solid core conductors for better signal transfer
AudioQuest's superior build quality is especially important in a cable that's this long. Pearl's high-purity copper, solid-core conductors ensure every bit of picture and sound information makes it to your gear — something that can be a real challenge for poorer-quality cables.

AudioQuest Pearl is fully backward-compatible with HDMI 1.3 and earlier cables. Bit Error Rate testing ensures that every cable passes signals as accurately as possible.

50 ft. HDMI cord

Written by: Egon from Bronx, NY on July 3, 2014

The Crutchfield team recommend this 50 ft. HDMI pearl audio quest cord. Now cable company tells me that I have a weak signal going from the cable box to the tv. The only option I can think of is to open my wall and replace it with a better HDMI cord, not from Crutchfield.

Pros: There is no pro. Poor quality

Cons: Crutchfield does not know their product

Crutchfield response on July 9, 2014 Thanks for your review. HDMI problems can be tricky because there are several different causes and solutions to consider. Our tech support team is always eager to help our customers sort through all of the possibilities. Sometimes it takes more than one try.

Features

Solid Long-Grain Copper (LGC) Conductors: Solid conductors eliminate strand-interaction distortion. Pearl's solid Long-Grain Copper allows a smoother and clearer sound than cables using regular OFHC (Oxygen-Free High-Conductivity) copper. OFHC is a general metal industry specification regarding "loss" without any concern for distortion. LGC has fewer oxides within the conducting material, less impurities, less grain boundaries, and definitively better performance.

Foamed-Polyethylene Insulation: Any solid material adjacent to a conductor is actually part of an imperfect circuit. Wire insulation and circuit board materials all absorb energy (loss). Some of this energy is stored and then released as distortion. Pearl HDMI uses air-filled Foamed-Polyethylene Insulation because air absorbs next to no energy and Polyethylene is low-loss and has a benign distortion profile. Thanks to all the air in Foamed-PE, it causes much less of the out-of-focus effect common to other materials.

High Speed Data Capacity: All AudioQuest HDMI cables up to 10 meters (32.8') meet or exceed the 10.2 Gbps maximum data rate for HDMI and are approved High Speed cables. This means that all AudioQuest cables up to 10 meters are capable of transmitting 100% of the data required for all of HDMI's current audio/video features including multichannel high-resolution audio, 1080p and 4k video, and 3D video from Blu-ray. All AQ HDMI cables will deliver 100% of the data required for 120Hz/240Hz/600Hz displays.

Note: AudioQuest HDMI cables which are 12 meters (39.3') to 20 meters (65.6') are Standard Speed with support for up to 1080p (not 4k).

HDMI 2.0: All AudioQuest High Speed HDMI cables (up to 10 meters) are capable of transmitting 18 Gbps signals, including 4K@60p and 4K 3D, when used with HDMI 2.0 electronics.

ARC & Ethernet Enabled: AQ's HDMI cable supports ARC (Audio Return Channel) which allows an HDMI-connected TV with a built-in tuner to send audio data "upstream" to a surround audio system, eliminating the need for a separate audio cable. The AQ HDMI cable also adds high-speed networking to it HDMI link, allowing you to take full advantage of your IP-enabled devices without a separate Ethernet cable.

Gold-Plated Connectors: The Audioquest HDMI cable features gold-plated HDMI standard size (Type-A) connectors for maximum signal transfer.

Directionality:All AQ HDMI cables are directional. The correct direction is determined by listening to every batch of metal conductors used in every AudioQuest HDMI cable. All signal conductors controlled for digital-audio direction in AudioQuest HDMI cables, and care is even taken to run the conductors used in the Audio Return Channel in the opposite direction to ensure the best performance for that application. Arrows are clearly marked on the connectors to ensure superior sound quality.

In-Wall Rated: The Audioquest Pearl HDMI cable is CMG/FT4 rated for in-wall installation.
