About the AudioQuest RCA Noise-Stopper Caps

Steve Kindig

Put a cap on interference

You can't see it, but radio-frequency (RF) and electromagnetic (EM) interference is all around us. Cell phones, computers, microwave ovens, and loads of other devices generate this electrical noise. That noise can be picked up by sensitive audio components a number of ways, including through open RCA and XLR inputs. RF interference is particularly problematic for high-performance audio gear, harming dynamics and clarity.

AudioQuest RCA Noise-Stopper Caps

You can't see it, but radio-frequency (RF) and electromagnetic (EM) interference is all around us. Cell phones, computers, microwave ovens, and loads of other devices generate this electrical noise. That noise can be picked up by sensitive audio components a number of ways, including through open RCA and XLR inputs. RF interference is particularly problematic for high-performance audio gear, harming dynamics and clarity.

To reduce the amount of interference entering your system, try "capping" all unused RCA inputs. You may be pleasantly surprised by a deeper background silence and subtle, previously unheard details emerging from your system.

Customer Q&A

1 question already asked

Q
How snug do they fit? Would they stay on rca inputs that point down? Or would gravity pull them off?

A
They are quite loose, actually. I had to take a piece of leather - so as not to scratch them - and pliers and carefully squeeze each one to get them to fit snugly. I use them with my Cary Audio SLP-98.
