About the AudioQuest SUB-X

Ralph Graves

Solid cable engineering delivers solid bass

The cable features two identical conductors, one positive and one negative. Each of the conductors is a single, unbroken strand of 1.25% silver-plated copper. Solid conductors eliminate electrical and magnetic interference that can add brittleness to the sound with multi-strand conductor cables.

Solid cable engineering delivers solid bass

Enjoy clear, accurate bass from your powered subwoofer with AudioQuest's advanced SUB-X cable. AudioQuest takes their own innovative approach to cable design based on years of in-house research, carefully engineering their cables to transfer signals as faithfully as possible.

High-quality shielding, insulation, and connectors

Foam insulation surrounds the positive conductor to minimize information smearing. Both conductors are enclosed by an additional layer of shielding to virtually eliminate electronic noise. The SUB-X cables feature brass RCA plugs with gold plating to guard against corrosion. AudioQuest attaches the connectors with its own specially formulated silver solder for efficient signal transfer.

Features

Sub-X Series Subwoofer Cable: The AudioQuest/CinemaQuest SUB-X subwoofer cable uses two identical solid 1.25% Silver conductors for positive and negative. Solid conductors eliminate any strand-interaction distortion. The subwoofer cable uses foam PE insulation to minimize information smearing, while the cable's 100% coverage shield insures noise-free performance. A gold-plated high-conductivity brass plug is attached to each end of the cable with specially formulated AudioQuest silver solder.

Silver-Plated Copper (SPC): Silver-Plated Copper (SPC) provides superior performance for subwoofer audio frequencies. SPC enhances the articulation and intelligibility of low frequency information from your amplifier to your subwoofer.

Note: Do not use the Sub-X subwoofer cable as a full range audio cable.

Ground Connections: If you hear noticeable hum in your system after connecting your subwoofer, please attach the Sub-X cable's ground leads to your audio gear. Some audio equipment have a ground (GND) connection on the back-panel, if not, attach the ground spade lugs to any screw on the equipment chassis of both the source and the subwoofer. Usually, this wire will not need to be connected.
