AudioQuest Vodka

If you want to enjoy top-notch performance from all your HD and Ultra HD gear, consider AudioQuest Vodka HDMI. This beautifully made cable provides superior signal transfer for your high-end home theater gear. It's rated "High Speed with Ethernet," so it can carry the highest-resolution video available — all the way up to 4K at 60 frames per second. Connecting your components with AQ Vodka is a great way to prepare your system for the most cutting-edge features available today, as well as what's on the way.

Supports 3D TV and 4K

Vodka HDMI cables are made with premium materials throughout to maximize the crystal-clear picture and sound quality available from the latest digital sources. All AudioQuest HDMI cables up to 10 meters are capable of transmitting 100% of the data required for all of HDMI's current audio/video features including 1080p and 4K video, 3D video from Blu-ray, and multichannel high-resolution audio.

AudioQuest Vodka is fully backward-compatible with HDMI 1.3 and earlier cables. Bit Error Rate testing ensures that every cable passes signals as accurately as possible.

Silver-plated solid copper conductors for better signal transfer

AudioQuest Vodka uses solid-core, 10% silver-plated conductors to ensure every bit of picture and sound information makes it to your gear. Silver is the most conductive metal; silver-plated copper conductors are ideal for very high-frequency applications, like HDMI audio and video. Because these signals travel mostly on the surface of the conductor, Vodka's high-purity silver plating provides performance that's close to that of a solid silver cable, but at a lower price. Bottom line: you'll enjoy exceptionally clear, noise-free video and audio.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I ordered AudiQuest cinnamon HDMI cable for my blu-ray to receiver connection initially, but opted for the vodka cable instead. I like the upgrade so well that I ordered a 3 meter vodka HDMI cable for my receiver to TV connection. Like the ol saying goes "you get what you pay for" I think the quality of this cable is dynamic and superior to any other out there.

Pros: Another outstanding product from AudiuQuest.

Cons: $pendy...

I use this cable for all my equipment.

Good Upgrade

Written by: Tom from Rochester NY on September 29, 2013

I've made some significant upgrades in my main system and basement system over the past year or two, mostly related to music, and more recently streaming hi-res files. Finally getting back around to the video side. When I have a weak link somewhere, I usually try to upgrade the main system, and pass along the replaced items to the basement and bedroom as upgrades there as well. In this case the basement TV (Sony) just wasn't looking or sounding great, had an old cheapo Monster HDMI going from my NAD T757 to the TV. Decided that the best route might be to upgrade the Audioquest Chocolate HDMI that was between my Oppo 93 and NAD T787 in the living room, and pass the Chocolate along to the basement.

Decided to jump over the Carbon but not get carried away with prices, so settled in on the Vodka for the Oppo -- it definitely made a difference with the audio, especially notice the center dialog clarity and separation, and the video on the Sony HX929 seems slightly clearer (may be my imagination/placebo effect) -- but moving the AQ Chocolate to the basement gave me the biggest bang, sounds like I upgraded a component or speakers, and the video is significantly sharper and brighter. So a win-win, both systems improved for a few hundred bucks -- I'll take that every time!

Pros: quality construction & connectors, excellent audio and video

Cons: none

Product Research

Solid 10% Silver Conductors: Solid conductors eliminate strand-interaction distortion and reduce jitter. Solid silver-plated conductors are excellent for very high-frequency applications, like HDMI audio and video. These signals, being such a high frequency, travel almost exclusively on the surface of the conductor. As the surface is made of high-purity silver, the performance is very close to that of a solid silver cable, but priced much closer to solid copper cable.

Foamed-Polyethylene Insulation: Any solid material adjacent to a conductor is actually part of an imperfect circuit. Wire insulation and circuit board materials all absorb energy (loss). Some of this energy is stored and then released as distortion. Vodka HDMI uses air-filled Foamed-Polyethylene Insulation because air absorbs next to no energy and Polyethylene is low-loss and has a benign distortion profile. Thanks to all the air in Foamed-PE, it causes much less of the out-of-focus effect common to other materials.

Carbon-Base 3-Layer Noise-Dissipation System (NDS): Preventing captured RF Interference from modulating the equipment's ground reference requires AQ's Noise-Dissipation System. Metal and Carbon-Loaded synthetics prevent most RFI from reaching the equipment's ground plane.

High Speed Data Capacity: All AudioQuest HDMI cables up to 10 meters (32.8') meet or exceed the 10.2 Gbps maximum data rate for HDMI and are approved High Speed cables. This means that all AudioQuest cables up to 10 meters are capable of transmitting 100% of the data required for all of HDMI's current audio/video features including multichannel high-resolution audio, 1080p and 4k video, and 3D video from Blu-ray. All AQ HDMI cables will deliver 100% of the data required for 120Hz/240Hz/600Hz displays.

Note: AudioQuest HDMI cables which are 12 meters (39.3') to 20 meters (65.6') are Standard Speed with support for up to 1080p (not 4k).

HDMI 2.0: All AudioQuest High Speed HDMI cables (up to 10 meters) are capable of transmitting 18 Gbps signals, including 4K@60p and 4K 3D, when used with HDMI 2.0 electronics.

ARC & Ethernet Enabled: AQ's HDMI cable supports ARC (Audio Return Channel) which allows an HDMI-connected TV with a built-in tuner to send audio data "upstream" to a surround audio system, eliminating the need for a separate audio cable. The AQ HDMI cable also adds high-speed networking to it HDMI link, allowing you to take full advantage of your IP-enabled devices without a separate Ethernet cable.

Gold-Plated Connectors: The Audioquest HDMI cable features gold-plated HDMI standard size (Type-A) connectors for maximum signal transfer.

Directionality: All AQ HDMI cables are directional. The correct direction is determined by listening to every batch of metal conductors used in every AudioQuest HDMI cable. All signal conductors controlled for digital-audio direction in AudioQuest HDMI cables, and care is even taken to run the conductors used in the Audio Return Channel in the opposite direction to ensure the best performance for that application. Arrows are clearly marked on the connectors to ensure superior sound quality.

In-Wall Rated: The Audioquest Vodka HDMI cable is CMG/FT4 rated for in-wall installation.
