Overview Details Customer Reviews Category Info Our take on the AudioQuest YIQ-X by Kristen Schaub Get a better picture with AudioQuest's YIQ-X cable Component video connections can deliver gorgeous high-definition pictures, and are definitely the way to go if HDMI isn't an option for your setup. Component video provides a significantly better picture than other analog connections, like composite or S-video. Its greater color bandwidth results in clearer color reproduction with less bleeding. Whether you're hooking up a standard or high-def video source to your television, AudioQuest's YIQ-X will deliver a crisp, vibrant picture every time. High-quality construction The solid copper conductors are plated with silver for improved signal transfer. Hard cell foam insulation surrounds the conductors to minimize distortion. Foil wrap around the insulation and an additional layer of braiding shield the cable from external electronic interference that can degrade the signal. High-quality gold-plated connectors "grip" onto your video source's component jacks for a more secure connection. Note: Each component video connection kit consists of three separate video cables wrapped in a flexible textile braid jacket. Features YIQ Series Component Video Cables: AudioQuest YIQ component video cables include three identical maximum performance coaxial cables, one for each of the three component signals; the "Y" (b&w) signal and the "I" and "Q" signals (also known as Pb and Pr), which contain all the color information. In the two channel S-video system (also known as Y/C), the "I" and "Q" component signals are combined to create a single "C" signal. When available, a three channel component signal is better because it avoids the degradation caused by the process of combining and separating. Construction: YIQ-X uses a solid Silver-Plated center conductor (24 AWG) insulated with Hard Cell Foam (HCF). Silver-plating greatly improves high frequency performance for a fraction of the cost of solid silver. Nitrogen Injected HCF reduces distortion caused by the insulating material, and helps maintain a stable 7-ohms. The combination foil and braid shield provides 100% protection coverage. Gold-Plated RCA split-connectors are professionally attached with superior AudioQuest solder. Product Reviews Be the first to review this product.
