About the Boyo VTL375HDL Rear-view Camera

Alexander H.

Multi-view and 0 Lux illumination

Adding a rear-view camera to your vehicle expands your view of what's behind you, but Boyo's VTL375HDL camera really steps things up by giving you three views: 192º wide rear-view, top-view for lining up to a trailer hitch, and split-view that combines both. Additionally, Boyo equips you for backing up in the darkest of parking garages and on overcast nights with built-in selectable LED lights.

Universal fit

The Boyo VTL375HDL sports a slim-profile license plate frame that provides a simple, subtle mounting location without calling attention to itself. The clean, black design is a match for many car exteriors and it doesn't obscure your license plate, making it a solid choice in all U.S. states. Boyo uses a sturdy zinc metal frame for a long life and mounts the waterproof rear-view camera on an up & down swivel, so you can get exactly the picture you want.

Next-level picture

The camera uses a superior CMOS sensor that gives you a sharp picture, even when it's pitch dark outside, and it'll work with any car stereo with a standard composite video input and viewing screen. The package includes a composite video cable that runs from the camera to the video screen up front.

Note: A rear-view camera provides an additional view when reversing your vehicle. It is intended to be used in conjuction with your rear- and side-view mirrors to give a fuller picture of what's behind you. It is not intended as a replacement for your mirrors.

Features

Multi-View License Plate Camera: The Boyo VTL375HDL is a multi-view camera that can be used as a backup or front camera, and can be added to almost any vehicle with an aftermarket receiver that features an integrated video monitor and composite video camera input. The Boyo VTL375HDL includes a multi-view camera with an integrated license plate mounting bracket, composite video cable, power/ground harness, and wired remote controller.

Note: The Boyo VTL375HDL is meant as a driving aid only; never solely rely on the multi-view camera. In addition to using the camera, always look around you to make sure everything is clear.

1.3MP CMOS Image Sensor:  The Boyo VTL375HDL multi-view camera is equipped with a highly sensitive 1.3MP color CMOS image sensor with a total resolution of 720 x 480 pixels for high-quality clear video.

Wired Remote Controller: The Boyo VTL375HDL multi-view camera comes with a wired remote control which allows you to select and adjust various settings like Image Mode, View Modes, Parking Guidelines, LDC (Lens Distortion Correction), ACCE (Adaptive Color & Contrast Enhancement), DEFOG, and LEDs. The wired remote controller is designed to mount at the front of the vehicle and includes a hook-and-loop fastener for mounting.

Selectable Image Mode: By default, the multi-view camera will display a "mirror" image for use as a backup camera. If using the VTL375HDL as a front camera, you can set the camera lens to "non-mirror" image mode.

Multiple Viewing Modes: The Boyo VTL375HDL multi-view camera offers a variety of viewing modes to choose from, based on how you are going to use the multi-view camera system. Select from  LDC View (default), LDC View + Parking Lines, Top View, Top View + Parking Lines, Split Screen (LDC + Top View), or Split Screen + Parking Lines.

  • LDC (Lens Distortion Correction): LDC (Lens Distortion Correction) produces a more natural image without as much "fisheye" effect.
  • Top View: The Top View mode is ideal for when you are hooking up to and towing a trailer.
  • Split Screen: Split Screen divides the on-screen image into a top & bottom image that displays both LDC & Top View modes.

Better Visibility: The Boyo VTL375HDL multi-view camera offers several unique technologies that improve visibility during the day, at night, or in the fog.

  • Wide Viewing Angle & Angle Adjustment: The VTL375HDL multi-view camera offers a 192° wide viewing angle, so you can see more of what's behind or in front of you. You can also physically angle the camera up and down on the license plate bracket.
  • ACCE (Adaptive Color & Contrast Enhancement: By activating the camera's ACCE (Adaptive Color & Contrast Enhancement) feature, color is preserved while dynamic range is expanded and contrast is enhanced.
  • DEFOG: When the DEFOG feature is enabled, visibility is increased in the fog.
  • Built-In LEDs: The camera's built-in LEDs will give you additional lighting while backing up making it easier to see even in complete darkness.

Parking Guidelines: The multi-view camera provides parking assist lines on the screen of your aftermarket display monitor. These parking lines are there to assist you when backing up into a parking space. There are two vertical lines which help you judge the left and right edges of the parking space and your vehicle. There are also three color-coded (green/yellow/red) horizontal lines that are used to distinguish how close you are getting to the end of the parking spot. The parking assist lines can be turned On or Off.

Waterproof (IP67): The Boyo VTL375HDL features a waterproof (IP67) housing to protect it from the elements. It's totally protected against dust and protected against the effect of immersion between 15cm and 1m for the duration of 30 minutes.

Composite Video Output: The Boyo VTL375HDL multi-view camera if fitted with a composite video connector (RCA) which makes it compatible with virtually any in-dash receiver with integrated video monitor and a composite video camera input. The total length of the composite video cable is 26'.

License Plate Frame Mounting: The Boyo VTL375HDL multi-view camera features an integrated license plate frame which mounts around your vehicle's front or rear state license plate (mounting hardware is included). The VTL375HDL's ultra-slim license plate frame is made of metal and is street legal in all parts of the United States.

Note: The Boyo VTL375HDL is designed to work best on vehicles that have a license plate located at the center and above the rear or front bumper. If your vehicle has a plate location that is offset to the left side, right side or your plate is located under the bumper then the VTL375HD may not provide optimum performance.

A
No, only if you manually turn on the LED. I never use the LED, there should be sufficient light from your reverse light on your vehicle.

I am disabled and have not had mine installed.I am on 24/7 O2 and need a wheelchair lift for my little car. I need a BRUNO ASL700 and a INOGEN O2 portable Generator if you would like to help go to gf.me/u/ij2nbm and make a small donations, put it out there on the web or your facebook,,Do what you can and maybe I can get out!

I don't use the led lights usually. You can turn them on/off. On occasion, if your exhaust is creating moisture clouds when it is cold weather, at night the led lights cause too much light reflection. Other wise it works fine.

I have had no problems at all.

will the camera activate when car is placed in reverse?

A
Yes, if you wire it correctly
jill  Apr 12, 2017
A
Yes, it's powered by backup lights
manfred karl  Apr 10, 2017
A
Yes. As long as you hook it up to the reverse wire of the OBD or a positive wire going to the reverse lights. I used the ODB and connected the power cable to the cigarette lighter wire which turns off when the ignition is switched off. Hope this helps.
douglas e  Apr 10, 2017
A
It will if it is installed correctly and hooked up with a double din stereo with screen. It needs to be conceded to the backup light wire under the dash.
james  Apr 10, 2017
A
Like any back up camera, this is a camera only. depends on the head unit it is hooked up to. Most of the back up camera capable head units have a wire that needs to be hooked up to the reverse light power. Note you will also need to supply power to the camera as well it comes with a long cable that runs from the head unit to the back. Power for the camera its self can be hooked up to the blue amp remote wire on the back of the deck or the same reverse light power source,
steve  Apr 09, 2017
A
Yep, sure will. Just make sure you tap into the reverse taillight wire.
ben  Apr 09, 2017
A
The camera is always on. Standard monitors have a reverse sense circuit that will turn it on or into monitor mode via a connection to your reverse lighting circuit..

Q
Can I use the factory installed display ( 2003 Toyota Land Cruiser DENSO Display) with this Boyo Camera?
r  Mar 01, 2016
1 answer
A
You will want to contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat to discuss compatibility with your factory system. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and see if this will integrate. If it does not, then they will also be able to discuss other options with you.
