About the Klipsch® Gallery™ G-12 Flat Panel Speaker

Kristen Schaub
Thin, tinny TV sound getting you down? Then liven up your viewing experience with the Klipsch Gallery G-12 speaker. You'll hear impressively detailed sound that adds impact and emotion to your favorite movies, TV shows, and video games. This super-thin speaker measures just 12" high and 2-1/2" deep, so it occupies a minimum amount of space and mates perfectly with today's flat-panel TVs or thin-panel desktop monitors. It works equally well as a left, center, right, or surround speaker for maximum versatility. You can also combine it with any of the other Gallery speakers to create a stylish on-wall surround sound system or low-impact whole-house audio system.

Lifestyle

Horn-loaded tweeter produces renowned Klipsch sound
The G-12 uses one of Klipsch's patented Tractrix® horn-loaded tweeters, which helps to increase the speaker's high-frequency output and to produce more lifelike sound. You'll also hear a larger soundstage with excellent imaging that allows you to pinpoint the direction of birdsong or the sound of revving cars from off-screen. It's complemented by a 3-1/2" mid/woofer for balanced bass output that'll make you think you're listening to a much larger speaker.

Contemporary design to match any flat-panel TV
The polymer cabinet has a stylishly curved front baffle that gives it both a contemporary look and low-resonance, structural stability. The cabinet undergoes an extensive twelve-step finishing process to achieve a stunning high-gloss piano black luster. And the incredibly thin grill — it measures just half the thickness of a credit card! — easily pops off and on with magnetic attachments. Use the included glass base to place this speaker on any tabletop or shelf, or mount it to your walls using the dual keyhole slots. The G-12 produces the same great sound whether mounted horizontally or vertically.

Features

LCRS Design: The Klipsch Gallery G-12 is equally capable for use as a main Left, a Center channel, main Right, or as a Surround speaker; and can be configured with any other Klipsch Gallery Speaker to build one of a large variety of different sized surround systems.

Tractrix Horns: The Klipsch Gallery G-12 LCRS utilizes Tractrix Horn technology for lifelike sound, more output using less energy, improved reliability, reduced distortion and a large soundstage with well-defined imaging. Proprietary Klipsch technology with a refined 90° x 90° dispersion pattern expands the prime listening area and improves dynamics, increases soundstage dimension and produces pinpoint imaging for an enhanced listening experience.

Titanium Diaphragm Compression Driver Tweeter: The Klipsch Gallery LCRS employs one 1" Titanium diaphragm compression driver mated to 90° x 90° square Tractrix Horn. Combined with the Tractrix Horn, the 1", solid-formed, very lightweight metallic diaphragm works in conjunction with precise phasing plugs at the horns throat to create a highly efficient driver with excellent transient response and lack of distortion. The new Linear Travel Suspension assures the most precise diaphragm excursion, increasing high-frequency detail and smoothness.

Long-Throw Injection Molded Graphite Woofer: The Klipsch Gallery G-12 utilizes one 3.5" active long-throw IMG woofer. A woofer with a light, yet very stiff diaphragm matched with a large motor structure, designed for maximum controlled excursion to reproduce balanced bass output that rivals speakers twice its size

Bass Reflex Enclosure: The Klipsch G-12 LCRS features a bass reflex enclosure with a side-firing port for deeper bass and higher efficiency. The side-firing port is perfectly matched with the cabinet and woofer, precisely flared to minimize turbulence and distortion, and positioned to be fully functional wherever the speaker is placed or mounted.

Molded Polymer, Low-Resonant Cabinet: The elegant, injection molded polymer cabinet has a front baffle that curves to the rear on both sides to create both a highly aesthetic appearance and a solid, low-resonant structure. The detailed, twelve-step cabinet finishing process achieves a sleek, high-quality piano black high gloss luster that perfectly blends into any interior setting.

Acoustically Invisible Grille: With the thinnest grille ever to come from Klipsch (one-half the thickness of a credit card), the sound is equally detailed with the grille on or off. With it off, the high gloss appearance and fine lines of the speaker are preserved due to the lack of visible fasteners on the speaker baffle made capable by a unique magnetic grille rod attachment.

Binding Posts: The Klipsch G-12 is equipped with one pair of sturdy binding posts to ensure a secure connection to many types of speaker cables and connectors. The binding post terminals will accept banana plugs (single only), pin-connectors, spade-connectors, and bare wire (16-gauge or larger).

Horizontal/Vertical Mounting: The Klipsch G-12's symmetrical horn dispersion pattern allows placement of the speakers vertically or horizontally, on its included glass base or mounted on a wall, and covers all dimensions of a typical listening area.

  • Tempered Glass Base: The included dark tint, tempered glass bass allows flexible vertical or horizontal speaker placement on stands, tables, or shelves; and provides an elegant contrast to the high-gloss black speaker cabinet. The tempered glass base attaches to the speaker's back-panel dual threaded inserts (5mm) using the supplied two M5 screws.
  • Wall-Mount Bracket: The Klipsch G-12 LCRS loudspeaker features dual keyhole slots on the back of the cabinet for wall-mounting the speaker without any additional wall-mount bracket (mounting screws not supplied).
Note: The Klipsch G-12 LCRS loudspeaker measures 6.0625" (w) x 13.5" (h) 5.0625" (d) with the tempered glass base attached vertically.

Customer Q&A

1 question already asked

Q
Can the G-12 be mounted on the wall?

A
yes it has hole mounts for screws I don't use the brackets at all
robert  Dec 23, 2015
A
Yes. I mounted these on the wall as a rear surround speaker. They can actually be mounted vertical or horizontal. They are not heavy so two Sheetrock screws is all I used for mounting. Took 10 min.
randy  Feb 03, 2015
A
Yes easily there are 2 set back holes in each speaker to mount onto screws or nails
carey e  Feb 03, 2015
A
Yes, mounting them on the wall is the easy part. Hiding the speaker wire behind the walls may be the issue.
