About the Klipsch® Gallery™ G-28 Flat Panel Speaker

Kristen Schaub
Sure, Klipsch's ultra-thin Gallery G-28 is a room-friendly solution for your left, right, and center channel speakers, and wait 'til you hear the sound! The versatile G-28 delivers the kind of rich, full sound you'd expect from a conventional full-sized home theater speaker, but uses a cabinet that's barely deeper than a picture frame, matching the look of your flat-panel TV. You'll hear clear, detailed mids and highs with all your favorite TV shows and movies, and bass that's pleasantly deep — perfect for those late-night action flicks. You can also combine it with any of the other Gallery speakers to create a stylish on-wall surround sound system or low-impact whole-house audio system.

Lifestyle

Horn-loaded tweeter produces renowned Klipsch sound
The G-28 uses one of Klipsch's patented Tractrix® horn-loaded tweeters, which helps to increase the speaker's high-frequency output and to produce more lifelike sound. You'll also hear a larger soundstage with excellent imaging that allows you to pinpoint the direction of birdsong or the sound of revving cars from off-screen. The tweeter's flanked by two 3-1/2" mid/woofers, which are in turn reinforced by four passive radiators. This combination of active and passive drivers ensures you hear rich mids and balanced bass that'll make you think you're listening to a much larger speaker.

Contemporary design to match any flat-panel TV
The polymer cabinet has a stylishly curved front baffle that give it both a contemporary look and low-resonance structural stability. The cabinet undergoes an extensive twelve-step finishing process to achieve a stunning high-gloss piano black luster. And the incredibly thin grille — it measures just half the thickness of a credit card! — easily pops off and on with magnetic attachments. Use the included glass base to place this speaker on any tabletop or shelf, or mount it to your walls using the dual keyholes slots and mounting bracket. The G-28 produces the same great sound whether mounted horizontally or vertically.

Features

LCRS Design: The Klipsch Gallery G-28 is equally capable for use as a main Left, a Center channel, main Right, or as a Surround speaker; and can be configured with any other Klipsch Gallery Speaker to build one of a large variety of different sized surround systems.

Tractrix Horns: The Klipsch Gallery G-28 LCRS utilizes Tractrix Horn technology for lifelike sound, more output using less energy, improved reliability, reduced distortion and a large soundstage with well-defined imaging. Proprietary Klipsch technology with a refined 90° x 90° dispersion pattern expands the prime listening area and improves dynamics, increases soundstage dimension and produces pinpoint imaging for an enhanced listening experience.

Titanium Diaphragm Compression Driver Tweeter: The Klipsch Gallery LCRS employs one 1" Titanium diaphragm compression driver mated to 90° x 90° square Tractrix Horn. Combined with the Tractrix Horn, the 1", solid-formed, very lightweight metallic diaphragm works in conjunction with precise phasing plugs at the horns throat to create a highly efficient driver with excellent transient response and lack of distortion. The new Linear Travel Suspension assures the most precise diaphragm excursion, increasing high-frequency detail and smoothness.

Long-Throw IMG Woofers Combined with Passive Radiators: The Klipsch Gallery G-28 utilizes two 3.5" active long-throw IMG woofers and four 3.5" passive radiators. Dual woofers with light, yet very stiff diaphragms combine with large motor structures to perform as active bass drivers. Quadruple passive bass drivers add even deeper, very clean, musical bass.

Molded Polymer, Low-Resonant Cabinet: The elegant, injection molded polymer cabinet has a front baffle that curves to the rear on both sides to create both a highly aesthetic appearance and a solid, low-resonant structure. The detailed, twelve-step cabinet finishing process achieves a sleek, high-quality piano black high gloss luster that perfectly blends into any interior setting.

Acoustically Invisible Grille: With the thinnest grille ever to come from Klipsch (one-half the thickness of a credit card), the sound is equally detailed with the grille on or off. With it off, the high gloss appearance and fine lines of the speaker are preserved due to the lack of visible fasteners on the speaker baffle made capable by a unique magnetic grille rod attachment.

Binding Posts: The Klipsch G-28 is equipped with one pair of sturdy binding posts to ensure a secure connection to many types of speaker cables and connectors. The binding post terminals will accept banana plugs (single only), pin-connectors, spade-connectors, and bare wire (16-gauge or larger).

Wire Management System: The Klipsch Gallery G-28's wire management system keeps wiring flush with the back of the speaker for perfect surface alignment and a clean, uncluttered appearance from the front or back. Speaker wire larger than 18-guage may not fit in wire management system channels.

Horizontal/Vertical Mounting: The Klipsch G-28's symmetrical horn dispersion pattern allows placement of the speakers vertically or horizontally, on its included glass base or mounted on a wall, and covers all dimensions of a typical listening area.

  • Tempered Glass Base: The included dark tint, tempered glass bass allows flexible vertical or horizontal speaker placement on stands, tables, or shelves; and provides an elegant contrast to the high-gloss black speaker cabinet. The tempered glass base attaches to the speaker's back-panel dual threaded inserts (5mm) using the supplied two M5 screws.
  • Wall-Mount Bracket: The Klipsch Gallery G-28 features two keyhole slots and includes a wall-mount bracket to hang the speaker on the wall (wall-mount screws not provided).

Note: The Klipsch G-28 LCRS loudspeaker measures 6.0625" (w) x 29.9375" (h) 6.0" (d) with the tempered glass base attached vertically; and 28.4375" (w) x 6.875" (H) x 6.0" (d) with the tempered glass base attached horizontally.

Q
what does the wall mount look like, does it allow speaker angling or just flat mounting?
david  Oct 24, 2017

A
It only allows flat mounting. I wound up putting heavy duty adjustable mounts on studs and mounting them to a board then mounting to the speaker. Looking back on it now, its so light I just should have bought a lightweight mount and put it on drywall. Or just plain mounted it flat.
david  Oct 24, 2017
A
It is a flat mount supports vertical or horizontal.
anandan  Oct 24, 2017

It is a Straight flat black metal strip with two pins for the keyhole slots. I angle mine by mounting the mount on a wedge shape piece of wood I cut to the same size and painted black.. You can not see the mount or the wedge. Nice clean look.
