About the Klipsch KL-6504-THX
The journey to great sound doesn't need to be riddled with visual obstacles like large free-standing speakers. Klipsch's in-wall KL-6504-THX packs the same sonic punch as a high-performance floor-standing speaker, without taking up an inch of precious space. Its hideaway in-wall design and paintable grille integrate seamlessly into just about any room.
The THX difference
This speaker bears the THX Select2 seal of approval, which means it can produce crisp, clear sound at highly demanding reference levels in rooms as large as 2,000 square feet. You can install a pair of KL-6504-THXs to the left and right of your flat-panel TV, and even set one horizontally as your center channel speaker for stunning home theater sound.
Four rigid 5-1/4" fiberglass woofers deliver tight, surprisingly deep bass and clear mids. A 1" titanium tweeter produces clean, precise highs.
Horn technology for focused sound
The KL-6504-THX uses a horn-loaded tweeter. A flared opening projects high frequencies toward your listening area and prevents sound waves from simply spilling out in all directions. This horn design helps the speaker reproduce accurate detail with everything you listen to, while reducing reflections that can color the sound. The horn also improves dynamics and efficiency, for powerful, "front row" sound that remains crystal clear at all volume levels.
An optional in-wall bracket is recommended for installing the KL-6504 THX in new construction.

Features
High Efficiency: The KL-6504-THX's titanium horn-loaded tweeter is mated to the woofers using precision-voiced high-definition crossover networks creating high sensitivity. This makes the speaker easier to drive so it requires a lot less amplification power than conventional designs. The high-efficiency design of the Kirsch in-wall speakers allows you to get much more output than most in-wall and in-ceiling speakers. Due to the long speaker wire runs that are common in whole-house audio systems, the power coming from the amplifier is significantly reduced by the time it reaches the speakers. The 92dB efficiency of this speaker means it will play much louder at low power than other less-efficient speakers.
3-Way Speaker Design: The KL-6504-THX uses a premium 1" Titanium compression driver (tweeter) mated to an exclusive Tracery Horn, combined with four 5.25" fiberglass woofers in a 3-way design.
- 1" Titanium Tweeter: The KL-6504-THX utilizes a 1" Titanium dome compression tweeter mated to a 4" square, Tracery Horn, which disperses the sound 90° horizontally and 90° vertically into the room. The horn design dramatically increases efficiency by enabling the speaker to produce more output using less energy.
- Four 5.25" Woofers: The KL-6504-THX employs four high-output 5.25-inch fiberglass woofer cones for powerful bass impact.
ABS Frame/Metal Grille: The KL-6504-THX has a sturdy ABS frame assembly and a deluxe MDF baffle with brushed aluminum fascia. The frame and metal mesh grille can be painted to match any decor.
Speaker Terminals: The speaker has a gold-plated pair of spring-loaded binding posts that can accept up to 12-gauge wire, single banana plugs, or pin connectors.
Power Specifications Note: The manufacturer has specified the maximum power handling of this speaker as 150 watts RMS (600 W Peak). Klipsch has also published a recommended amplifier power specification as 200 watts.
Mounting Options
Dual Orientation: The KL-6504-THX in-wall speaker can be mounted horizontally or vertically; and can be used as a front, center, or rear speaker.
New or Pre-Existing Installation: The in-wall speaker can be installed in new or existing construction. It requires a cutout diameter of 6.5625" wide x 27.125" high, with a mounting depth of 3.625". A cardboard template is supplied to measure cutout opening. For existing construction, the speaker should be installed in drywall (or other mounting surfaces) at least 1/2" thick. The Kirsch in-wall speaker features eight sure-grip mounting dogs (clamps) that provide even pressure against drywall for long-term installation reliability. For new construction, purchase of the IK-504-W installation kit (714IK504W, sold separately) is highly recommended.

should build a box in the wall to help the low freq response. Using the subwoofer helps but just not enough. Still, a wonderful sounding speaker
