About the Klipsch KL-7800-THX
High-performance home theater goes in-wall
High-performance home theater goes in-wall
Klipsch engineered the KL-7800-THX to give you real cinema sound without taking up any valuable floor space. Use three of these speakers across your home theater's front soundstage for engaging dialogue and gripping sound effects. This in-wall speaker packs the same sonic punch as a high-performance floor-standing speaker, but its hideaway design and paintable grille integrate seamlessly into just about any room. Plus, the KL-7800-THX bears the THX Ultra2 seal of approval, which means it can produce crisp, clear sound at highly demanding reference levels in rooms as large as 3,000 cubic feet.
Horn technology for focused sound
The KL-7800-THX uses a 1" titanium compression tweeter paired with Klipsch's Tractrix® horn — a flared opening which projects high frequencies toward your listening area and prevents sound waves from simply spilling out in all directions. This horn design helps the speaker reproduce accurate detail with everything you listen to, while reducing reflections that can color the sound. The horn also improves dynamics and efficiency, for powerful, "front row" sound that remains crystal clear at all volume levels. An 8" aluminum woofer pumps out detailed, low-distortion mids and solid bass.
An integrated enclosure ensures accurate sound
The space behind a speaker's drivers can directly affect the sound you hear out front. So how do you know the KL-7800-THX will reproduce movie soundtracks accurately, when it's installed in the wall in your particular home theater room? Klipsch's answer is an integrated back box enclosure, which ensures that the KL-7800-THX's response is consistent, no matter what kind of space happens to exist behind your wall. And because this enclosure fits easily within the loudspeaker's cutout footprint, the KL-7800-THX can be installed into new or existing construction.
An optional in-wall bracket is recommended for installing the KL-7800-THX in new construction.
Meet the whole family
The Klipsch KL-7800-THX makes an ideal speaker to use for your home theater's front left, center, and right channels, or anywhere you need to install a single monopole speaker. To complete the THX Ultra2 in-wall system of your dreams, add two KS-7800-THX in-wall surround speakers for spacious rear-channel effects, and a KW-120-THX subwoofer and KA-1000-THX subwoofer amplifier combo for deep, high-impact bass.

Features
In-Wall Speaker: Engineered to bring real cinema sound to the comforts of home without taking up valuable floor space, the Klipsch KL-7800-THX in-wall speaker offers the ultimate performance in a hidden solution loudspeaker. It is designed for left, center or right channel use or wherever a monopole speaker is needed.
THX Ultra2 Certification: Because of its THX Ultra2 certification, the KL-7800-THX works well with multichannel movie and music presentations playing up to reference levels in rooms of 3,000 cubic feet or larger.
Two-Way Design: It employs an 8" aluminum woofer and a 1" titanium dome compression driver mated to a square Tractrix Horn. The 8" aluminum delivers rich, defined bass. The 1" Titanium dome compression tweeter is mated to a 5" square, pivoting Tractrix Horn, which disperses the sound 80° horizontally and 80° vertically into the room. The horn design dramatically increases efficiency by enabling the speaker to produce more output using less energy.
Integrated ABS Enclosure: Featuring an integrated back box enclosure, the KL-7800-THX's response is both predictable and repeatable. Because this enclosure fits easily within the loudspeaker's footprint, the KL-7800-THX can be installed into new or existing construction. The KL-7800-THX has a sturdy ABS frame assembly and a deluxe MDF baffle with brushed aluminum fascia. The frame and metal mesh grille can be painted to match any decor.
Speaker Terminals: The in-wall speaker has a gold-plated pair of spring-loaded binding posts that can accept up to 12-gauge wire, single banana plugs, or pin connectors.
New or Pre-Existing Installation: The in-wall speaker can be installed in new or existing construction. It requires a cutout diameter of 10.0625" wide x 19.0625" high, with a mounting depth of 3.75". A cardboard template is supplied to measure cutout opening. For existing construction, the speaker should be installed in drywall (or other mounting surfaces) at least 3/8" thick. The Klipsch in-wall speaker features six sure-grip mounting dogs (clamps) that provide even pressure against drywall for long-term installation reliability. For new construction, purchase of the IK-802-W installation kit (714IK802W, sold separately) is highly recommended.

Well made in wall. This was the largest and loudest in wall I could find. They're in a 3000 sq. foot room and they do nicely for about 50 seats. Not saying they're too big for a normal some home theater, but capable for a bigger room.
