Bring along the Klipsch Music Center KMC 1 just about anywhere you'd like to listen to your music. This powered speaker is compact and portable, but it delivers surprisingly big, robust Klipsch sound.
Portable and powerful (Yellow pictured).
The system features aptX audio coding, an advanced form of Bluetooth that allows higher-fidelity sound with compatible Bluetooth devices. The KMC 1 is backwards-compatible with earlier forms of Bluetooth, too. So you can wirelessly stream your music from your smartphone, tablet, laptop, or other portable and still enjoy outstanding sound.
If a call comes in on your smartphone while you're listening to your tunes, you've got choices. Answer the call and use the KMC 1 as a speakerphone to talk hands-free. If you don't like the interruption, terminate the call, or just ignore it — all from the KMC 1's controls.
The system has two 2-1/2" high-performance full-range drivers, each in its own sub-enclosure to prevent cross-interference. Dual 3" passive bass radiators ensure low tones are present to give your music depth. And the KMC 1's advanced digital signal processing and equalization ensures your music sounds clear and detailed at any volume level.
The built-in rechargeable battery provides up to 16 hours of continuous operation — more than enough for a day at work, or a day at play. It can also serve as a power bank for your portable device. A USB port lets you charge your smartphone or tablet from the KMC 1. And there's an auxiliary input so you can play non-Bluetooth portable devices through the system, too. The soft-feel paint and metallic accents create a look that's rugged yet stylish.
This item was discontinued by Crutchfield so I could not order it from them as it was out of stock, discontinued. I bought it elsewhere and it is just what I wanted as it is a Portable speaker and a speaker phone that also charges an I phone. I still found it at discount. It is as good or better than any other portable of its kind. It is heavy but that is no real problem. Outside of the few reviews here it is a very well reviewed item. I like it for its great sound and for all its useful features.
Pros: Features,as speaker, speaker phone and as a recharging devise. Sound is excellent. It is heavy but for what it does it eliminates the need for a charger for a cell phone because it will act as one. It is not that bad as a carry onto pack and go.
Sounds good, pairs fine, love the device charge feature. Works great!
I think this is a well made speaker with good sound quality. While it sets-up fairly easily, the controls take a bit to get used to at the start....do you hold or just touch and release. Anyway, the battery life seems good and the range to blue tooth device is good. I am not sure if it gets as good of separation as the Bose mini, but for the sale price is a well made speaker.
Pros: Well made, good battery life, compact.
Cons: If any, I would say I would like more mid-level sound separation....it can seem a bit muffled with certain songs....realizing it is a compact speaker.
Very loud and clear for a small speaker!
Pros: Sounds great and is easy to connect
This guy packs a punch for such a small speaker, especially for being in a relatively small package. You will get beautiful highs and mids, and while the bass isn't overwhelming, it very much enhances the overall sound for a speaker this size. It's actually shocking how loud this thing will go!
It feels like a million bucks. Weighing 3.6 lbs., incased in a housing that is 4.3" H x 10.2" W x 3.4" D, it feels like a freaking brick - in a really really good way. When you hold it feels just as substantial as it sounds. Out of all three of the speakers, this one to me is the most appealing (more on why later). The housing of the speaker is a nice soft, solid feeling plastic, no creaks, loose buttons or anything of that sort. On the top, the touch controls work well. I've not had a single problem with them. I do also appreciate the rubber pad they have on top of these guys, very handy.
KMC 1 has the extremely useful feature of providing audible indicators when you turn the speaker on, it pairs to your Bluetooth source, and when it's turned off. One thing I have noticed, which was an amazing surprise is that once connected to my Surface Pro. I can shut down the surface; the speaker will turn off (no surprise). BUT, when I turn the surface back on the speaker turns on automatically, and connects without me even touching it. It has NFC, you can charge phones/some tablets via usb, and use it as a speaker phone. I'm not sure what else you could ask for really, its feature rich!
Pros: -Sounds great -Beautifully designed -A LOT of technology in a small package
Nice solid look and feel. The sound is rich. But I really hate the touch sensitive controls. I attach my iPod Classic via the AUX, and switching between AUX and Bluetooth with thick fingers is a pain. There is no click or any kind of tactile feedback when you press on the control panel. There is a delay before anything happens so you don't know if your initial touch did anything. You have to look at the panel and see if any of the lights go on or flash.
Bottom line, I would not have purchased this speaker because of the controls.
Pros: Solid look and hefty feel. Rich sound.
Cons: Don't like the touch sensitive controls
This is a great speaker system for the on the go music listener. I carry it from room to room, it has really great sound like having a small hifi system. the highs are crystal clear and the bass is okay. I like to place it in a corner and low to the floor for a bigger base sound! It has bluetooth and earphone connectivity and it's great to be used for a soundbar for flat screened televisions. Nice price.
Pros: Bluetooth and earphone connectivity, 8 hour built in battery back up.
Cons: none .
|NFC Touch Pairing||Yes|
Full-Range Sound: The Klipsch KMC 1 Bluetooth powered speaker employs dual front-firing 2.5" full-range drivers and dual rear-firing 3" passive radiators for deep, musical bass. 40-watts of peak system power provides lifelike, dynamic sound at any volume level.
Built-in Bluetooth: The Klipsch KMC 1 powered speaker offers built-in Bluetooth technology for wireless audio streaming and hands-free communication from your Bluetooth-enabled mobile device.
Simple Pairing w/ NFC: A single button press pairs your Bluetooth-enabled device with the Klipsch KMC 1. The speaker also supports NFC (Near-Field Communication) technology for pairing. Simply tap your NFC-enabled Android smartphone to the NFC tag on the top of the speaker for instant pairing with the KMC 1; NFC is only available in select Android smartphones. The KMC 1 can be paired with up to 8 devices (only one can be used at a time). Once paired, the KMC 1 will automatically re-connect to the last device used when in wireless range (30').
Note: Due to the differences in Bluetooth technology, some Bluetooth enabled devices may be incompatible, function improperly, or may not support all features when used with the Klipsch KMC 1.
Auxiliary Input: The Klipsch KMC 1 is fitted with a 3.5mm auxiliary input to connect virtually any portable audio device with a headphone output.
USB Charging Port: The KMC 1 features a USB (type-A) port used to charge your smartphone or other USB-enabled portable audio device. This USB port does not support audio playback. You can choose to charge and power your device using either AC or battery power. However, charging with battery power will reduce battery life. If batteries are already weak, the USB connection will not charge your device.
Rechargeable Battery + AC Power: The Klipsch KMC 1 Bluetooth speaker has a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery capable of up to 16 hours of playback time (at default volume). You can also plug the KMC 1 into an AC wall outlet. The unit will operate on battery power unless AC power is utilized. The unit's battery is recharged while its connected to AC power (takes 8 hours for full charge). During battery power, if no streaming or connected audio is detected for 5 minutes, the speaker will automatically go into standby mode. During AC power, if no streaming or connected audio is detected for 1 hour the KMC 1 will automatically go into standby mode.
No, iPhone alarm will not work thru the speaker. [ Ted Nov 04, 2014 ]
I don't know . I never tried it [ MICHAEL D Nov 03, 2014 ]
If you look at the AC power supply/charger that came with KMC 1. On the label it shows 100-240-50/60Hz.. It covers the US and International currents. The plug is supplied with International power adapters. Interchangeable too fit the most common types of outlets. You could also use an international/world adapter/converter witch can also be used for other electronics. These usually cost from 15 dollars and up. I hope this answers your question. [ RUSELL Jun 17, 2014 ]
Thanks! Hope someone can help me about this. [ Julius Jun 17, 2014 ]
The AC plug would let U know, and indicate Input 110-220 or 240v on the plug. If so indicated as in any other electronics, you are SAFE. Sorry, couldn't do check it being on a trip and without the product. Manny [ manny Jun 16, 2014 ]
I do not know but it would surprise me if you could. It is a great speaker!!! [ HOWARD R Jun 16, 2014 ]
I believe so.This Klipsch speaker affords and transcends above average quality and fidelity in sound. Good to excellent value. manny v. [ manny Feb 27, 2015 ]
I use this in my office and have not used it in a vehicle, so I don't know how the sound might interact with road noise, but it puts out a nice, strong, full sound in a room. In other words, you can crank it up. [ BILL Feb 23, 2015 ]
I've never rode in a semi truck before so I don't know the noise levels exactly but the KMC 1 can be cranked up pretty loud, enough to fill up a large room and then some, so I'm guessing it may be loud enough in your truck. [ JONATHAN Feb 23, 2015 ]
Don't know how loud your truck noise is, this speaker has very good sound & pretty loud. [ Michael Feb 23, 2015 ]
I only use mine indoors. It does get more than loud enough but loud volume will run the battery quicker at the higher volumes. Mine will only last 4-6 hrs at 1/2 volume but the sound is loud and clear. [ TRACY Feb 23, 2015 ]
We don't have a truck so we cant speak to that. But the sound is loud and clear. I'm not sure how the hands free calling would work in a truck either. The product has great sound and is high quality and you should try in the situation you described as you can probably return if not satisfied. [ JOHN T Feb 23, 2015 ]
I think you would be happy with the level and quality of sound. I have several Klipsch speakers and feel this is another great speaker. [ Dennis Feb 23, 2015 ]
Yes this should be plenty loud enough. We compared it with a BOSE and it blew it out of the water. [ Marie Feb 23, 2015 ]
Definitely [ LARRY P Feb 23, 2015 ]
I am not sure if this will be of any help to you as I do not drive a truck. I drive a 2005 Mariner SUV and have listened to music and podcasts with the Klipsch in the rear cargo area while cruising @ 70 mph. I have not had a problem hearing the music or spoken word. [ Ted Feb 22, 2015 ]
Absolutely it is a powerhouse. I work in construction with plenty of noise all day it's also has substantial weight to it so I don't have to worry about it vibrating off the table [ STEVEN Feb 22, 2015 ]
yes.. [ RAFAEL Feb 22, 2015 ]
Yes, it is surprisingly loud and clear for a small speaker. [ TIMOTHY L Feb 22, 2015 ]
Yes, but it's probably cheaper elsewhere. I only figured that out after I ordered. [ DESMOND Feb 22, 2015 ]
It does not come with a sleeve or case. Excellent product otherwise. [ William Apr 07, 2015 ]
this unit does not come with any type of case. outer shell is rubberized. [ Marie Apr 03, 2015 ]
Neither case nor sleeve [ LARRY P Apr 03, 2015 ]
no, it does not come with a protective cover. [ RAFAEL Apr 03, 2015 ]
Scott, I've had mine (black) for several months. No,it did not come with a sleeve; however, after spending time in the back of my Jeep and moving from home to other outside trips there has been no damage. It seems able to stand up with reasonable care. Jeff [ Jeffery Apr 03, 2015 ]
You only get the bare speaker. No protective case [ TRACY Apr 03, 2015 ]
No case or sleeve of any kind. [ Ted Apr 03, 2015 ]
