The Klipsch Music Center KMC 3 is more than just another portable Bluetooth speaker — it's a full-blown portable sound system. The KMC 3 is compatible with Bluetooth aptX® technology, so you can stream CD-quality sound from compatible devices. Klipsch's advanced electronics and speaker design ensure you'll hear every detail. And with 130 watts of peak system power, your music will definitely be heard!

Innovative speaker design

The system has two 2" high-performance full-range drivers, each in its own sub-enclosure to prevent cross-interference. A 5-1/4” long-throw woofer with dual-flare ports delivers clean, hard-hitting bass. Separate amplifiers power the speakers to minimize distortion. Add advanced digital signal processing equalization, and you've got a system that sounds clear and detailed at any volume level.

Ready to go

The KMC 3 features a convenient carry handle built into the cabinet so you can just grab it and go. The system comes with an AC wall adapter, or you can use eight “D” cell batteries for up to 26 hours of portable operation. A USB port lets you charge your smartphone or tablet when the KMC 3's connected to an AC outlet. And there's an auxiliary input so you can play non-Bluetooth portable devices through the system, too. The soft-feel paint and metallic accents create a look that's rugged yet stylish.

From our Klipsch Music Center KMC-3 review:

[Q]uite honestly this speaker is well-prepared for the task you'll want to put it to: keeping the party going. With playlists streaming from your fingertips, and the go-anywhere potential of an 8-"D"-cell battery compartment giving you up to 26 hours of portable operation, you'll have the "great-sounding tunes" requirement covered, and all with a speaker you can carry with one hand..

Features

High Performance Speaker Design: The Klipsch KMC 3 combines a 2.1ch speaker system, bass-reflex enclosure, 130-watt (peak) bi-amped digital amplification, and advanced DSP equalization for accurate reproduction of all music types. Dual 2" full-range aluminum drivers, internally chambered to minimize distortion, provide a clean and highly balanced sound up to 24kHz. A unique tuned dual-flare port system combines with the built-in 5.25" long-throw woofer for deep bass down to 40Hz. A 15-watt x 2-channel digital amp powers the dual full-range drivers, while a 35-watt digital amplifier powers the subwoofer. The KMC 3 also employs advanced DSP equalization for lifelike, dynamic sound at any volume level.

Built-in Bluetooth w/ AptX: The Klipsch KMC 3 features built-in Bluetooth A2DP/AVRCP technology which allows you to wirelessly stream audio from your Bluetooth-enabled Apple iPod/iPhone/iPad, Android smartphone/tablet, Blackberry, or laptop/computer. You'll be able to stream stored music or music apps from your Bluetooth-enabled device and control playback from the included remote control. AptX audio coding technology allows for lossless, audiophile-quality streaming. The unit can be paired with up to 8 devices (only one can be used at a time). Once paired, the KMC 3 will automatically re-connect to the last device used.

Note: Due to the differences in Bluetooth technology, some Bluetooth enabled devices may be incompatible, function improperly, or may not support all features when used with the Klipsch KMC 3.

Remote Control: The included IR remote control operates the system's volume up/down and muting. The remote also supports basic playback functions of your Bluetooth streamed music, such as Play/Pause and Track Forward/Reverse.

Auxiliary Input: The Klipsch KMC 3 is fitted with a 3.5mm auxiliary input to connect virtually any portable audio device with a headphone output.

USB Charging Port: The KMC 3 features a USB (type-A) port used to charge your smartphone or other USB-enabled portable audio device. This USB port does not support audio playback. You can choose to power your device using either AC or battery power. However, charging with battery power will reduce battery life. If batteries are already weak, the USB connection will not charge your device.

Integrated Carry Handle: The integrated carry handle lets you easily move the KMC 3 room to room or take it anywhere with you.

Power Requirements: The Klipsch KMC 3 operates off of AC or DC power. Simply plug the included AC power adapter and cord into an AC wall outlet for AC power. The KMC 3 also operates off of DC power using eight "D" batteries (sold separately). You get 26 hours of playback time at moderate volume and 8 hours of playback at maximum volume.

Q
just wondering if you could hook this to a TV? Has anyone tried this?

The Klipsch KMC3 has an auxiliary input into which one can hook up anything via a 1/8" mini-jack cable. Most TVs have a red/white RCA output and for less than 10$ you can get an RCA to mini-jack cable. The bass on this system is incredible and would be great for movie watching.

This Klipsch speaker is fantastic! I prefer more bass and I've read some reviews stating the bass is too "muddy". Keep in mind, however, you can adjust the bass through most devices such as your PC, laptop, etc. When plugged into a wall socket, this speaker will also perform through your TV that has a standard 3.5mm headphone output. Tip: I do not own a tablet or a an iPad, etc. However, I purchased a separate Bluetooth USB Dongle for my laptop to stream Pandora music wirelessly. It's GREAT!

I have connected this to my tv. I used the supplied aux cable and connected it to the headphone port on the tv. Also works this way with the klipsch GiG.

If your TV has a headphone or audio out that uses a 3.5mm jack you could use that route, and KMC 3 comes with a short mini to mini cable to connect to the aux input on the back. I suppose you could convert RCA out to mini jack as well. I did it with the supplied cable and it was much better than the TV speakers, but you won't have simulated surround sound options like you would with a sound bar made for a TV. Sounds good if you just want stereo sound with more base. Hope That Helps
