About the Klipsch KS-7800-THX
High performance surround sound goes in-wall
High performance surround sound goes in-wall
Klipsch engineered the KS-7800-THX to give you real cinema sound while disappearing visually. Specially designed as an in-wall surround speaker, the KS-7800-THX creates the same wraparound, atmospheric effect as on-wall speakers. Its hideaway in-wall design and paintable grille integrate seamlessly into just about any room. Plus, the KS-7800-THX bears the THX Ultra2 seal of approval, which means it can produce crisp, clear sound at highly demanding reference levels in rooms as large as 3,000 cubic feet.
Horn technology for focused sound
The KS-7800-THX uses two vertically stacked horn-loaded tweeters to create an enveloping soundfield wih precise localization of effects. Klipsch's Tractrix® horn design has a flared opening, and the two tweeters fire away from each other to project sound in a specified pattern. This approach produces an expansive soundstage that enhances both movie soundtracks and music. An 8" aluminum woofer pumps out detailed, low-distortion mids and solid bass.
An integrated enclosure ensures accurate sound
The space behind a speaker's drivers can directly affect the sound you hear out front. So how do you know the KS-7800-THX will reproduce movie soundtracks accurately, when it's installed in the wall in your particular home theater room? Klipsch's answer is an integrated back box enclosure, which ensures that the KS-7800-THX's response is consistent, no matter what kind of space happens to exist behind your wall. And because this enclosure fits easily within the loudspeaker's cutout footprint, the KS-7800-THX can be installed into new or existing construction.
An optional in-wall bracket is recommended for installing the KS-7800-THX in new construction.
Meet the whole family
With a pair of Klipsch's KS-7800-THXs taking care of surround sound duties, you can complete this tour-de-force system by adding the KL-7800-THX LCR in-wall left-, center-, right - channel speaker, and the KW-120-THX subwoofer and KA-1000-THX subwoofer amplifier combo for deep, high-impact bass.

Features
In-Wall Speaker: Engineered to bring real cinema sound to the comforts of home without taking up valuable floor space, the Klipsch KS-7800-THX in-wall speaker offers the ultimate performance in a hidden solution loudspeaker. It is designed to be used as a surround speaker in a home theater application.
THX Ultra2 Certification: Because of its THX Ultra2 certification, the KS-7800-THX works well with multichannel movie and music presentations playing up to reference levels in rooms of 3,000 cubic feet or larger.
WDST (Wide Dispersion Surround Technology): In order to create enveloping sound fields and precise localization of individual effects, this speaker also utilizes Klipsch's Wide Dispersion Surround Technology. Also referred to as WDST, this no-compromise approach gives the KS-7800-THX much more placement flexibility than conventional designs.
Two-Way Design: The Klipsch KS-7800-THX in-wall speaker employs an 8" aluminum woofer and a patented horn array, consisting of two vertically-stacked Tractrix Horn-loaded titanium dome tweeters.
Integrated ABS Enclosure: Featuring an integrated back box enclosure, the KS-7800-THX's response is both predictable and repeatable. Because this enclosure fits easily within the loudspeaker's footprint, the KS-7800-THX can be installed into new or existing construction. The KS-7800-THX has a sturdy ABS frame assembly and a deluxe MDF baffle with brushed aluminum fascia. The frame and metal mesh grille can be painted to match any decor.
Speaker Terminals: The in-wall speaker has a gold-plated pair of spring-loaded binding posts that can accept up to 12-gauge wire, single banana plugs, or pin connectors.
New or Pre-Existing Installation: The in-wall speaker can be installed in new or existing construction. It requires a cutout diameter of 10.0625" wide x 19.125" high, with a mounting depth of 3.75". A cardboard template is supplied to measure cutout opening. For existing construction, the speaker should be installed in drywall (or other mounting surfaces) at least 3/8" thick. The Klipsch in-wall speaker features six sure-grip mounting dogs (clamps) that provide even pressure against drywall for long-term installation reliability. For new construction, purchase of the IK-802-W installation kit (714IK802W, sold separately) is highly recommended.
