An updated classic

Have a big room? Need a big speaker to fill it? Then the Klipsch Heritage Series La Scala II should definitely be on your short list. Originally released in 1963 for use as a "portable" public address speaker, it also turned out to be a fantastic performer for the home. Now built from resonance-absorbing 1-inch thick MDF instead of plywood and aesthetically enhanced for living room environments, the latest version of this classic horn-loaded floor-standing speaker is ready to rock your world with stunning dynamics, low-distortion bass, and extreme output levels.

A fully horn-loaded design

The La Scala II's horn-loaded tweeter and midrange compression drivers give it exceptional sensitivity, flat frequency response, and broad, controlled dispersion. This translates to unequaled clarity, detail, and lightning-quick transients for that "live, you-are-there" Klipsch sound. A 15" folded-horn woofer delivers truly astonishing bass performance and responsiveness. The La Scala II's extremely high sensitivity also makes it a great choice for low- and medium-powered tube amps. The two-piece design, with separate tweeter/midrange and bass cabinets, helps make transporting and positioning the speaker easier.

A hand-built beauty

This speaker looks every bit as good as it sounds, featuring a handsome, furniture-grade woodgrain veneer cabinet. Klipsch still makes the La Scala II one at a time by hand in Hope, Arkansas. Each speaker is available in a beautiful Cherry, Walnut, or Black Ash lacquered wood veneer finish.

Great sounding speakers at any price

Written by: Mark from Illinois on November 18, 2015

I've had a pair since 1980, and although I have sampled many other speakers, none that compelled me to make a change.

My current room is 17x17 and they sound great.

With a 20 watt good sounding tube amp, these will blow you out of your seat at 0.5 Watts, 2 Watts is almost unbearable

Pros: Great accurate big sound Incredibly efficient The only speakers you will want in your lifetime

Cons: You could say size with a 2ft x 2ft footprint. Do what everyone else does, put glass tops on them and use them as tall tables for a lamp or plastic flowers or art. No real flowers or water, ever.....

I bought mine in 1986 and they rocked the neighborhood. I too used them for a few family weddings and some fiestas at our church. But the best was, one weekend some friends came over to throw some meat on the grill. We pulled out the La Scalas and started playing music, everything from classical to rock.

Pros: They sound just as amazing at low volumes as they do rocking the neighborhood!!

I purchased these speakers as a college graduation gift to myself back in 1975. I have used these speakers for at least 8 family/friends weddings...they are still sitting in my living room as back speakers w/a pair of Herasy's as front speakers. Before purchasing the dealer let me take these speakers to his competitors and A/B switch to compare. Needless to say there is no comparison. I love these speakers. They have played great for the past 38 years. I drive them w/a much smaller Receiver, 65 Amps, than I did back then. I hear instruments and background vocals from these speakers that is missing from other brands. These are the worlds best speakers in my book.

Cons: Space could be an issue. A big room would be great.
