Klipsch designed their Special Limited Edition Reference series speakers to please discriminating ears, and the RF-600 tower is no exception. This slender floor-standing speaker offers a spacious, three-dimensional soundstage, tonal neutrality, and tight, accurate bass response.
The RF-600 uses a horn-loaded tweeter. A flared opening in the enclosure projects high frequencies toward your listening area and prevents sound waves from simply spilling out in all directions. This horn design brings out details in everything you listen to, while reducing reflections that can color the sound. The horn also improves dynamics and efficiency, for powerful, "front row" sound that remains crystal-clear at all volume levels.
The RF-600's dual Cerametallic™ woofers dish out smooth midrange and articulate, well-defined bass. Klipsch makes the woofer cones out of specially treated aluminum, so they're strong yet lightweight. A rigid cabinet with resonance-fighting internal bracing houses both the woofers and the tweeter. It all adds up to remarkably accurate reproduction of all your music and movies, with spot-on imaging and an extraordinarily wide, deep soundstage.
Use a pair of RF-600s with a subwoofer for a great-sounding stereo system. Or, team them with other Reference 600 series speakers for high-impact home theater.
Sure, floor-standing tower speakers buck the industry trend toward smaller, visually inconspicuous speakers, but they're hard to beat if great sound is your primary goal. Tower speakers produce powerful sound with excellent bass, making them a great choice for serious music lovers and for folks who want high-impact home theater.
I purchased the Klipsch Reference-600 floor speakers about a month ago--one was a "scratch and dent," the other an "open box." Both ran some $40-$60 less than advertised. The "open box" unit was in perfect shape; the "scratch and dent" unit had one miniscule flaw which is barely noticeable. Remarkably, the speakers arrived at my door about a day and a half after I placed the order! Unreal service! As for quality, these speakers are truly awesome--powerful base, highs and good midrange as well. I power them w/Harmon Kardon's AV-1610 receiver. I've coupled them with an excellent Infinity PS 410 subwoofer and Klipsch center speaker, all of which are now pretty much broken-in. I've been using them for TV use (awesome even for regular TV) and lots of music (primarily classical and "chill/ambient/electronic"), and DVDs. Together, everything sounds fantastic. I highly recommend the Klipsch Reference FR-600's as well as purchasing from Crutchfield. You won't go wrong either way.
Pros: Good looks, with or without the grills. Powerful. Great highs and bass, good midrange. Competitively priced. The usual excellent Crutchfield dependability!
Cons: These puppies are heavy. They're well-packaged, but you might need a hand getting them out of the boxes!
The speakers are very clear even that loud volumes. Good basis Ponce tweeters are very similar to other speakers in the reference or his line. No complaints highly recommend
These speakers pack a punch and deliver amazing sound. There is no distortion even at high levels. I am very pleased with quality. Shipping was fast and the contents were well packed as always from Crutchfield.
Pros: Amazing sound and volume.
Cons: My wife doesn't like the size, as they are large.
My RF600 speakers are performing excellently. They are replacing 2 RB 81'S as front speakers and the sound I get from my 7.1 system is truly wonderful. They handle action movies to rock dvds with ease and the sound is really clean and clear. Thank you Klipsch.
Speakers sound is crystal clear and easy to differentiate between alll musical instruments
Pros: Great value for price, economical
My system is used for music only. I listen to mostly jazz, classical and sometimes progressive rock (Renaissance, Yes). The core of my system is the Onkyo A-9050 amplifier (evidently, I bought the last one, as these are no longer available), which feeds a pair of Klipsch RF600 speakers in the study and a pair of Polk MC80 ceiling speakers in the adjacent workshop. At present my sources are a Grundig Satellite AM/FM/air/shortwave receiver, an elderly Sony CD player and an MP3 player. All of my cables are Audioquest and everything except the Grundig was purchased from Crutchfield I plan to upgrade the CD player and add a turntable eventually. The study is also wired for a powered subwoofer, but that seems un-necessary. I don't consider myself an audiophile, and my hearing isn't keen enough to discern a difference in $500.00 speakers and $20,000.00 speakers. This system is excellent for my purposes and is the envy of the neighborhood.
Pros: broad frequency range
Great value for quality speakers.
Cons: Nothing negative to report.

Great sound. Good bass. Most of the time I don't even turn on my Sub. Very detailed speaker... you can hear every note played...
Cons: None at all
Excellent value for the money! Instead of going to a club or concert experience, I have it in my living room. It blows me away! Crystal lcear tone.
Pros: Excellent sound and realistic bass response for easy listening or Movies
Cons: They were much bigger then I thought they would be
Amazing Sound. Wonderful stereo and surround sound. Bi-Amp option is very useful.
Pros: Easy to setup. Clean Sound.
The rf-600 towers perform awesome on my 7.1 setup. They cover the low and high range well. The mid range is nothing short of awesome on these towers. I could not be more pleased. I use my setup for both music and movies and these towers sound great on both applications.
Pros: Look great, sound great, price
Cons: Made in China after audiovox bought out klipsch which use to be made in hope Arkansas. They still sound great as ever but prefer to buy USA.
Just for starters, the store associates and new sound room were great help deciding on these. Comparable to the Rf52, only I bought the 600 for almost half the price. Excellent highs that were missing from my sound. Honestly you barely need a sub. Sounded awesome right out of the box. Couple weeks later they have really opened up. Great on music, sound effects and voice. I actually like the color of the domes better as well. Paired with a Defenitive 8040hd center and Mirage Nanoset rears for now. Perfect setup with a wide range of sound! Thanks again Crutchfield!
Pros: Great sound, sleek beautiful display
Had to pickup the speakers myself at the shipping companies warehouse since they did not deliver them to my home on the specified date. To my surprise one of the boxes was open, the other closed. I e-mailed Crutchfield's customer service and they offered to ship another speaker to me or to refund the difference as one speaker was an open box. i accepted the second option since the speaker in question seemed undamaged. Now to the speakers. I first heard about Klipsch speakers in the 1970's specifically about there horn tweeters, but I have never listened to them. I live in a rural town and there is no specialized audio store near me so I took a chance and ordered the Klipsch Reference RF-600 floor standing speakers. I used to own a pair of bose 901's series 3 and infinity bookshelf speakers. As soon as I connected the Klipsch I was amazed at how loud they play and how well they reproduce the low frequencies/bass. Initially the mid and high frequency sounded a little muted while the bass sounded tight and accurate. After a couple of hours of "warming up" it all sort of balanced out and all of the sound spectrum now sounds natural and well balanced. Bass is so well defined and tight that I don't need a subwoofer for listening to music . I was amazed 3 days ago when I was listening to one of my Jazz records and started hearing sounds I had never heard before (like the stroke of the guitar strings, cymbals etc.). All i can say is wow, best speakers I've ever listened to.
Pros: Highly efficient (do not need much power to drive them). Well balanced and natural sound. Forgot to mention above how well they look both with and without the cover.
The speaker got to me in a timely manner and free shipping rocks! I looked everywhere and Crutchfield had the best prices and great customer service.
Pros: Love the speaker its more than adequate for my medium to large size living room. The sound is fantastic. Straight out of the box the sounded amazing and after some tweaking of the receiver eq its perfection. Love these!
Cons: There's no complaint from me. I researched speakers for about a month before buying these and they were in my budget and are what they were described to be.
I have had these speakers for a couple of months and they are breaking in nicely. They just keep sounding better all the time. They look and sound terrific. I found it very helpful to read other reviews of this speaker comparing them to the Polk's. Everyone does need to listen to both and decide for themselves what sound they like more. I never thought there could be such a difference. These speakers have such a crisp sound and the Polk's have a much more smooth sound. It's not like one is better or worse, just different. Dealing with Crutchfield was also great.
Pros: Very dynamic, clear, in your face sound.
Cons: They are somewhat fatiguing after a while. There are times that horn tweeter is just a little much.
I didn't think Klipsch Reference could get any better, but when I heard about these Limited Edition RF Series speakers, I had to try them. Klipsch claims to have refined their tweeter for the RF-600 speakers and it shows. They're so lifelike, they seem to almost breathe the music in your room.
Currently, I'm using these in a matched Klipsch Limited Edition RF 9.1 Setup with a top shelf Sony setup including their flagship DA5800ES receiver, XA5400ES SACD/CD Player & S790 Blu-Ray Player.
The performance is jaw-dropping whether I'm playing classic Bowie on SACD, the latest My Bloody Valentine album in 96Khz/24-bit or my favorite Smiths CDs. Sound is startlingly lifelike, true and un-colored.
For movies, these speakers, combined with matching RC-500 Center, RS-400 Surround & RW-12II Subwoofer transport you to the Megaplex. Whether watching the epic action like Man Of Steel or classics like 2001, the sound is breathtakingly real and powerful!
At this price it's going to be tough to find a better speaker.
Trust me & take a chance on these. You won't be disappointed!
Pros: Sound Quality, Flat Frequency Response, Realism, Dynamics
Amazing sound and clarity. I can't tell if the bass is coming from my sub or these speakers. They sound so great and bring my fading home theater back to life. I got a new Denon receiver and and my old infinities couldn't get it done. Thanks to Klipsch it's alive.
Pros: Great speakers for a really good price.
Cons: None so far!

Two-Way Speaker Design: The Klipsch RF-600 tower loudspeaker employs a two-way speaker design with a 1" titanium-diaphragm compression driver inside a square Tractrix Horn and dual 6.5" Cerametallic woofers with rubber surrounds.
Klipsch Horn Technology: Klipsch employs Horn Technology to deliver these four principles of great sound.

The RF-600's rigid cabinet offers improved internal cross-bracing to minimize panel vibrations that can color sound and dual rear-firing ports to eliminate turbulence noise. An increased baffle ribbing in the lower panel and around the horn mouth dramatically improve acoustics across the sonic range. The bass reflex enclosure features a MDF cabinet finished with a black wood-grain vinyl.
Magnetic Grille: The bookshelf loudspeaker features a removable magnetic grille which easily snaps into place over its cast-aluminum front baffle. The speaker can be used with or without its grille in place.
Dual Binding Posts: Each speaker has two sets of binding posts connected by jumpers. Using the dual binding posts, you can bi-amp or bi-wire the speakers. The binding post terminals will accept banana plugs (single only), pin-connectors, spade-connectors, and bare wire.

Placement: The Reference Series floor-standing loudspeaker is designed to perform well in a wide variety of locations but you will get the most out of the speaker by following these simple guidelines.
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: Those speakers will sound great with the Marantz NR1403. Although they can handle up to 125watts as the high end RMS, these Klispch speakers are extremely efficient, which allows them to be pushed very nicely, and cleanly with 50 watts. Together, these speakers and that Marantz are going to sound Awesome. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat.
